FG marketing has been very perplexing.

I wonder if cardstock (LOW) will ever just... stop, you know?
Will LOWonline even continue?

I don't know anything official as far as online. You can tell there's other things taking precedent so my guess is nothing new for online until next year.

Just a couple of quick thoughts... Some guys like to only play with dice...great for them... Some guys like the COTGonline...I'm happy for them... Without desktop...I would not still be in COTG...I travel alot...therefore, it is a pain to carry a bunch of cards...COTGOnline is just too limited...plus...I may not always have Internet connectivity. I can understand why, in a business sense ($), FG would want to promote Online...but it is limiting. As to the new color cards...I don't really have a problem with the color...I do have a problem with the new size and the small changes in the cards. You want to change a card...re-issue it. Don't give me minuscule changes over years that I have to keep up with. Also, the size almost spits on all previous card issued. I think all of this is leading to a computer issued only card set as we are beginning to see in the pdfs. Can someone explain to me why previous out of print sets (such as classics) have not be re-issued in pdf? even in the original Black (or Blue) and White? The cost has to be minimal and the company could gain in each instance? I will play on the Desktop until it breaks down...then...I may leave altogether if a better a venue is not available. One mans opinion. Graymar I can relate with this post Graymar. I rarely roll actual dice anymore, one, cause with so many people living in my house these days there is just no space. Im kind of limited in time as well so thats why I invested in Online (both COTG & LOW). I also see how limited Online can be... the biggest being if you are somewhere without an internet connection youre screwed. Im thankful for COTG Desktop for allowing me to roll the dice without the connection. If I didnt have these options I would probably not be playing anymore.

His handle used to be Like Watching Paint Dry before he shortened it to LWPD.

How I originally read this... If he wants to create a sub-par superhero blowup doll, a Lord Nexus puzzle, an e-calculator for married people, or a nude Stan Lane calendar, feel free to do it. Sweet. Sign me up. ;D For February, he covers up his wang with Cornette's tennis racket.

You guys will enjoy this... picture it.. it's mid-January, and I decide I really miss the LWA, and post on the board that I'd like to get it going again.
Because I thought it would a good way to draw some new guys in, I resolved to keep it on the official board, and start with just the official guys, I figured 5 or 6 territories would be possible.
I got 9 PMs in about 15 minutes from people that were interested (I couple of you guys, a few others). I also got one from Paint, saying he would 'allow' me to run the LWA if I promised to him I would tell everyone not to use desktop ever again.
I answered nicely, saying I would happily follow the rules and not mention it on the board, but I wasn't willing to tell people what to do.
He promptly deleted the thread and said if I mentioned it ever again I would be banned.
I then poliltely pointed out what Dustin just said... that you could easily get the charts off the free demo from LowOnline, and use pretty much any guy you want (including most with official cards) without spending a penny thanks to his thread contains all the bootlegs, so what was the harm in desktop?
This was his response:
Still whining like a child with a litany of nonsense.
Bottom line: If you waste my time again either publicly or privately with your silly temper tantrums it will be your last post on this board. It's up to you.

For context, here's my message that garnered that response... as you see, I was VERY nice:
I just got a couple other things I want to say...
-- You're setting a REAL bad precedent on the board when you start deleting posts because you think someone might break a rule someday. Have you noticed the lack of traffic lately? There might be a reason for that.
-- I find it very Ironic that a guy that has made it so anyone wandering by this forum can play the game with 'over 1000 wrestlers' (to quote a post of yours) for FREE is lecturing ME about copyright issues. How many guys that have official cards are in your archive?
-- I PM'ed the people who have already contacted me with intrest that the board isn't willing to host the fed, and you know what one of them said? "Of Course LWPD won't like it. It's a fun, innovative idea". This from someone who I've never talked to before.
It's clear you like the game, and are willing to spend time on it. That's great, but you really need to think about how you're running this board if you want it to survive much longer.

It was probably my first banning (lol), but I got a pm and after I replied to it, much the way wildfire did, it was then that I got banned. The next two times it happend (again lol), I come back to the board and find I'm gone, no notice. Then, when the time was up and I could go back, there was a pm he sent back at the time of the banning. Nice don't even let me read it before kicking me out.

You know the most ironic part of all this?
Way, way, way back in the days when there was only the Ingerboard, you did not have to login with a user name to post. (How many of you remember that it was none other than Rob/Swarm who necessitated the end of that era?) There was some discussion about that topic, and Paint chimed in. I went sifting through the archives to find the post, but it seems to be long gone (along with the series of posts where Swarm simply savaged Mark Ashby for the way he wrote the CPC).
Anyway, in this long, overwritten post, Paint insisted that it was a bad idea, because (I remember this distinctly) when a board requires that, it tends to shift the focus away from the game, and the board becomes more about "Board Celebrities." Now, I get that Paint is a paranoid whack job who didn't want to tie himself to a web site where he had to register an e-mail account, but holy fuck!
Anyway, it's funny how things change, you know? He wanted a board with few restrictions and a free exchange of ideas... And then he started running one, and look at what happened. He argued against the creation of Board Celebrities... And you know? It's not even worth the effort it takes to finish this post. Y'all know what I'm saying, and the people that really need to hear this will never accept it.

I remember that... Swarm/Rob also broke the guest book, IIRC, he kept posting as different characters and skewering anyone that posted anything.
There was a board before Chris' board, Antimony.. maybe it's there?
I remember that, though... I have to say I never thought about it though... good point.

2 days for my ban to be done. I am eagerly waiting to see what message for Little White Penis Dickweed has for me.
