WWL TV: The Champions are Crowned:
After a huge four game series, New Orleans defeated Oklahoma City in a sweep. This series was a classic, and showed that even though JR had the team best equipped for the job, the Giant's resolve would prove more than his team could handle.
In the West, San Diego mowed through New Mexico, beating them in an incredible Seven game series, with Eddie Kingston's lariat to Jack Swagger being the final fall. San Diego, whom once looked like a team who would never advance past the opening round of the playoffs, proved once again that they may be the best team in the league.
This, however, would be put to the test in the WWL Finals.
GAME ONE: New Orleans' strategy was clear: Destroy the Savages before they could get going. Andre the Giant scored the first fall on Larry Hennig, but sat down for the second. While on the bench, Andre witnessed the decimation of his teammates at the hands of Eddie Kingston. Tied at 1-1, Bobby Heenan sent Andre back in. Andre would be a factor in the final fall, but in the end, Kingston would hit a lariat on Rick Rude to shock the world and give New Orleans their first loss of the playoffs.
GAME TWO: Bobby Heenan rested Andre for the first fall of the game, and let Rick Rude go to work on San Diego. It was a successful strategy, as Rude got the first fall on Mark Briscoe. Eddie Kingston would return the fall with a Backfist to Chuck Taylor. Fall #3 saw Andre the Giant brought back in, but in the end, Eddie Kingston would hit a lariat after Larry Hennig worked over the Giant, and San Diego would go up 2-0.
GAME THREE: San Diego were fast approaching the League Championship, but the Giant would stay in the match for all three falls this time. Andre's team lost the first fall to the Briscoes' Doomsday Device. Andre would then win two falls straight over each of the Briscoes. The Series became 2-1.
GAME FOUR: Yearning to prove that the first two games were a fluke, New Orleans seemed overly aggressive in this game, and it would cost them as Andre the Giant was benched for Game Four with a knee injury in the first fall. As you'd expect, the Savages tore into the Destroyers, winning the game two falls straight. New Orleans' light at the end of the tunnel was getting a while lot darker.
GAME FIVE: With Andre benched for the game, New Orleans reverted to their plan of old: Let Rude lead the team. He did a tremendous job making sure his teammates were set up for the fall, with Quackenbush pinning Eddie Kingston and then Brodie Lee pinning Jay Briscoe. New Orleans were not dead yet as the series grew to 3-2.
GAME SIX: It was gut-check time as Andre the Giant made the long walk to the ring with his knee bandaged up. Andre made it known in fall one that his injuries were not going to be a factor, pinning Mark Briscoe with the Big Splash. It would be a two fall night for New Orleans, as Rick Rude would hit the Rude Awakening on Jay Briscoe to win the game. With the series tied 3-3, Game 7 was going to decide the fate of both teams.
GAME SEVEN: San Diego came in the underdogs, but at this point in the series looked like the alpha team. Kingston took the fight right to Andre, as did his teammates, hurting the Giant's leg in the process. The strategy was smart, after Kingston hit the lariat on Chuck Taylor, Bobby Heenan benched the giant and told Rick Rude to take over. Fall two saw a return to form as Rick Rude quickly dropped Larry Hennig. The game was tied at 1-1 as Heenan sent Andre back in to wreck shop. This would not happen, as Eddie Kingston hit the Backfist to the Future on Andre, followed by the Sliding D, followed by a Lariat to put the Giant down, and end the first WWL Playoffs with the victory.
Winners and WWL Champions: The San Diego Savages!
Post-season and draft stuff coming up.

You know, I read this for the first time yesterday and I think I only now have processed that final fall enough to post.
Wow, I still don't know quite how to respond though.

Eddie Kingston, huh? great read all around. Andre was injured, putting his pin rating at a 3, he was hit with Larry Hennig's finish, and a couple of lariats from Kingston before the finish. The Draft is coming up tonight.

WWL TV Week 1 Recap:
A huge rematch happens as we kick this second season off with a BANG! Who leaves the first week with a win?
Game of the Week: New Orleans Destroyers (0-1) @ San Diego Savages (1-0) - San Diego showed that once again why they won the championship last season. Andre was kept out of the ring for almost the entire match as Rey Mysterio pinned Chuck Taylor in the first fall, and in the second, Kingston finished off Rude with a Lariat.
Boston Stranglers (1-0) @ Mexico City Bandidos (0-1) - Los Bandidos start off on the wrong foot yet again as the revamped Boston team took to Mexico City and left nothing in the ring. Big Show would pin Mil Mascaras in the first fall with the knockout punch, and John Cena would finish the match against Mistico.
Philadelphia Revolution (0-1) @ New Mexico Coyotes (1-0) - With only five men being allowed in the ring, Philadelphia made the decision to only have Triple H OR Steve Austin in the match in any given fall. This made for some major problems against Gary Hart's team as Jack Swagger pinned Steve Corino in Fall One, and in Fall Two, Heath Sltaer got the Sandman with Sweetness to give the Coyotes a huge win to start the season.
New York Titans (1-0) @ Tokyo Dragons (0-1) - You add two of the greatest Japanese stars of all time to Tokyo, and it gives them more than just a fighting chance against New York. Misawa took the first fall with the Tiger Driver to Yoshi Tatsu. NYC would come back, winning back-to-back falls as the Rock pinned Davey Richards and Drew McIntyre would hit Jushin Liger with the Future Shock to end the game.
Columbus Cardinals (1-0) @ Phoenix Glory (0-1) - Lou Thesz and Shinsuke Nakamura ended up being just what Columbus needed as they beat the once dominant Phoenix Glory two straight falls as Thesz pinned Necro Butcher and Kane fell to Nakamura.
Montreal Quebecers (0-1) @ Utah Pioneers (1-0) - Adding the Nature Boy didn't really help Montreal this time around as Killer Kowalski beat him in fall one and in fall two, Sting would get him with the Scorpion Death Lock.
Oklahoma City Outlaws (1-0) @ Seattle Thunderheads (0-1) - The Outlaws stormed Key Arena with the intention of destroying everything in sight and Jim Ross had a few new members of his team to do so with. Batista would end the first fall quickly with a Batista Bomb to Jimmy Snuka and the second fall would see Wade Barrett hit the Wasteland on Kip James to give OKC their first win on the road to topping last season's 32-3.
St. Louis Spirits (0-1) @ Portland Lumberjacks (1-0) - Bill Watts left this match early as his Spirits were smashed by the hometown Lumberjacks at the Rose Garden. Hiroshi Tanahashi pinned Bryan Danielson with the High Fly Flow, and in the second fall, Claudio Castagnoli was pinned by Neckbreaker dDrop from Giant Baba.
Detroit Riot (1-0) @ San Francisco Lions (0-1) - Two of the tougher teams from the previous season collided in San Francisco and it was a war. Chris Hero pinned Terry Gordy in the first wall with the Rolling Elbow. Sheamus would pick up the second fall with the High Cross to Tyler Black. Fall Three saw Sabu hit the Arabian Facebuster on Hero to win the game.
Atlanta Fire (1-0) @ Los Angeles Express (0-1) - The fire came to LA to burn the Staples Center down and did just that on opening night. Antonio Inoki hit Rhino with the Enzugiri, and John Morrison hit Starship Pain on RVD to end the game.
Orlando Hurricanes (0-1) @ Houston Oilers (1-0) - This was nothing but smooth sailing for Houston. The Undertaker won both falls, the first over Ted DiBiase with the Last Ride, the second over Curt Hennig with the Tombstone Piledriver. Houston might just be on their way to the top of the west with their new team.
Chicago Warriors (1-0) @ Dallas Shooters (0-1) - Another two fall game here as Chicago dominated Dallas. The Road Warriors hit Kerry Von Erich with the Doomsday Device and Delirious fell to Lex Luger's torture rack.
TRADE RECAP: - Yoshi Tatsu (NYC) for Dynamite Kid (DAL) for Season 4 1st and 2nd Round Draft Picks and Davey Richards (TKY) - Tiger Mask (NYC) for Season 3 1st Round Draft Pick (TKY) - Bruiser Brody (CHI) for CM Punk (DET) - Ric Flair and Nikolai Volkoff (MON) for Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake (CBUS) - El Hijo del Santo (SD) for Mil Mascaras, Mistico, Season 3 2nd Round Draft Pick, Season 4 1st and 2nd Round Draft Picks (MEX) - Austin Aries and Season 4 2nd Round Draft Pick (OKC) for Sheamus (DET)

WWL Week 2 Recap:
New Mexico Coyotes (1-1) @ Boston Stranglers (2-0) - The Coyotes came to Boston Garden with a lot to prove, and they left it all in the ring in a tough loss to the Stranglers. Fall one saw Jack Swagger pin Stan Lane. Big Show immediately won Fall two with the Chokeslam to Swagger. Fall three was an all out war, but it ended when Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on One Man Gang.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-2) @ Tokyo Dragons (1-1) - A familiar start to the season for Los Bandidos as they take a rough loss against the Dragons. Fall one was ended with Misawa's Tiger Driver to Sombra, and the second fall ended with Rikidozan's chops to Konnan.
Philadelphia Revolution (1-1) @ Phoenix Glory (0-2) - Austin and Triple H wrestled the entire match this week and they dominated the Glory, with Trips taking the first fall, and Austin the second. Philly looked dominant going into their week 3 showdown with Seattle.
New York Titans (2-0) @ Utah Pioneers (1-1) - Two of the top teams from last year took to it in an all-out battle. Fall one went to Utah as Sting got Mike Awesome. Drew McIntyre would seal the next two falls with the Future Shock on Sting and Red Bastien to keep NYC undefeated.
Columbus Cardinals (2-0) @ Seattle Thunderheads (0-2) - Seattle continues to struggle as Columbus rolled over them two falls straight, with Alberto Del Rio taking a fall to Lou Thesz and Shinsuke Nakamura's Boma Ye being the end of Kip James.
Montreal Quebecers (0-2) @ Portland Lumberjacks (2-0) - Montreal continue their losing ways from last season as the best team record-wise from the West last year took to them, with Giant Baba hitting the Neckbreaker Drop on Zybysko, and Ox Baker's heart punch landing on Dr. Wagner Jr.
Oklahoma City Outlaws (2-0) @ San Francisco Lions (0-2) - OKC had a tough week with the Lions. A great three fall match that saw Chris Hero hit the Rolling Elbow on Eddie Edwards. Sheamus' Brogue Kick landed on Tyler Black and Steve Williams hit the Oklahoma Stampede on Chris Hero to give OKC their second win.
St. Louis Spirits (1-1) @ Los Angeles Express (0-2) - STL rebounds with a commanding victory over LA as Harley Race hit the Piledriver on Rhino, and Bryan Danielson submitted RVD to the LaBell Lock.
Detroit Riot (1-1) @ Houston Oilers (2-0) - There was no doubt coming into this that we'd witness a war, and that's exactly what we got. Booker T's Bookend would give Houston the first fall. Detroit came right back with Gordy's Powerbomb on Jim Brunzell. The third fall saw Sabu take his Last Ride as Houston continues the undefeated streak.
Atlanta Fire (0-2) @ Dallas Shooters (1-1) - Atlanta looked promising at this point last year, but couldn't get it together against the Shooters this week. Davey Richards hit the DR Driver on Roderick Strong, and Kerry Von Erich locked in the Von Erich Claw on Roderick Strong to win the game.
Orlando Hurricanes (0-2) @ San Diego Savages (2-0) - Looks like the storm didn't reach the cost as the Savages dominated the Hurricanes two falls straight. Kingston hit the lariat on DiBiase and this was followed up by a Briscoes Doomsday Device to secure the victory.
Chicago Warriors (2-0) @ New Orleans Destroyers (0-2) - New Orleans lost both season games to Chicago last year, and they'll play them twice again this year. They will have to split the series, as the Warriors ran through the Destroyers this week. The Road Warriors won the first fall with the Doomsday Device to Rick Rude, and then CM Punk hit the Go To Sleep on Chuck Taylor.

ESPN: Several Major WWL Trades Made:
-- NEW YORK CITY; Today, several WWL teams announced major trades of some key star players. The list of trades are:
- Triple H (PHI) for Lex Luger, Brad Armstrong (CHI) - Steve Austin (PHI) for Mick Foley, Rhino, Season 3 1st Round Draft Pick, Season 4 1st and 2nd Round Draft Picks (LA) - Don Muraco, The Crusher (LA) for Silver Kain, La Sombra (MEX) - Sting (UTA) for Ed Lewis (ATL) - Roderick Strong (ATL) for Tyler Black (SF) - B. Brian Blair (SF) for Nigel McGuinness (PHX) - Antonio Inoki (ATL) for Goldberg (SEA)
Obviously, it's still too early in the season to tell if these trades have had a significant impact on the teams, but the shuffling around of several major stars in the league this early is kind of surprising.
Austin and Triple H never seemed to mesh with Philadelphia's style, despite helping them win their Week 2 matchup. General consensus amongst Revolution management is that they're happy with the trades made, and feel that the ECW veterans in Rhino and Foley will help the team out more than Austin and Triple H could have in the long run.
LA acquired Steve Austin, and also signed free agents Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, and Christopher Daniels.
Dusty Rhodes said the trades he made for Goldberg and Sting were to bring more of a WCW flavor to his team. He thinks that Sting and Goldberg were lost with the teams they were on. Dusty thinks these two are the guys to help turn the team around.
San Francisco, however, traded Tyler Black and B. Brian Blair to gain Roderick Strong and Nigel McGuinness, adding more youth to the team lead by Gorgeous George. This team looks exponentially stronger now with these two added, and San Francisco is hoping for another playoff berth this year.
How will these new rosters affect the WWL? We'll see in Week 3 of the league.

WWL Week 3 Recap:
Boston Stranglers (3-0) @ Tokyo Dragons (1-2) - Boston starting the season off this hot is not surprising as they traveled to the Land of the Rising Sun to do battle with a hard hitting Dragons squad. Cena took the first fall when Rikidozan hit the Thunderous Chops. Tiger Mask would fall to Stan Lane, and Big Show would hit that Knockout Punch to give Boston their third straight win.
New Mexico Coyotes (2-1) @ Phoenix Glory (0-3) - Gary Hart's New Mexico squad was a handful in the playoffs last year, and they proved once again that they may be a threat to the league title. Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on Necro Butcher, and in Fall Two, Jack Swagger hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb to end the game.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-3) @ Utah Pioneers (2-1) - Los Bandidos continue to struggle as they head to Utah to take on the Pioneers. The team of Kowalski and Ed Lewis tore through Mexico City like a hot knife through butter, winning two straight falls. Mexico City starting another season off rough.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-1) @ Seattle Thunderheads (0-3) - Philadelphia tested out their new lineup in Seattle with great results as Rhino gored his way through Alberto Del Rio, and Steve Corino hit Old School Expulsion on Kip James to win the game.
Co-Game of the Week: New York Titans (2-1) @ Portland Lumberjacks (3-0) - The Titans didn't get very far last season as far as the initial undefeated streak goes, and this season they got off to a better start befor being cut down by the Lumberjacks. Giant Baba hit the Neckbreaker Drop on Brent Albright, and El Mesias hit the Straight To Hell on Drew McIntyre to give Portland a two fall victory.
Columbus Cardinals (2-1) @ San Francisco Lions (1-2) - San Francisco would stare down one of the toughest teams in the league this week, and came out on top. Ric Flair would submit Chris Hero in the first fall with his Figure Four Leglock. SF would come back, with Nigel hitting the Tower of London on Jim Duggan and Hero hitting Nakamura with the Emerald Elbow Pad.
Montreal Quebecers (0-3) @ Los Angeles Express (1-2) - Steve Austin walked to the ring at the STAPLES Center and helped LA get their first victory of the season, and did so in convincing fashion. Instead of attempting to hog the glory, Austin set up RVD's Frog Splash on Jacques Rougeau in the first fall, and then hitting Dr. Wagner with the Stunner in the second fall.
Co-Game of the Week: Oklahoma City Outlaws (3-0) @ Houston Oilers (2-1) - OKC are chasing down their record 23 game win streak from last season as they dominated the Oilers in a two-fall game at Reliant Stadium. The Undertaker fell to Batista in the first fall via a Batista Bomb, and in the second fall, Steve Williams hit the Oklahoma Stampede on Mad Dog Vachon.
St. Louis Spirits (2-1) @ Dallas Shooters (1-2) - Dallas continue to have an on-off season as St. Louis absolutely mauled them in a two fall game. Bryan Danielson's LaBell Lock submitted Davey Richards, and Harley Race dropped Kerry Von Erich with the Piledriver.
Detroit Riot (1-2) @ San Diego Savages (3-0) - San Diego continues to roll on as they put an end to the Riot at home. Eddie Kingston once again proved to be SD's franchise player, pinning Sabu with a Lariat in two consecutive falls. The Savages have a ton of momentum as they head into next week's match with the Outlaws.
Atlanta Fire (0-3) @ New Orleans Destroyers (1-2) - Atlanta's new look didn't make much of a difference as a motivated Andre the Giant showed up in New Orleans. Rick Rude's Rude Awakening would set up Andre's Big Splash on Goldberg, and Andre would help Chuck Taylor get the deciding fall on Sting.
Orlando Hurricanes (0-3) @ Chicago Warriors (3-0) - Orlando was once considered the best team in the East, and they fall to 0-3 as Chicago destroyed them. Randy Orton hit an RKO on Road Warrior Animal in Fall One. Chi-Town came right back as Curt Hennig ate the Go To Sleep from CM Punk. Triple H finished the game with a Pedigree to Ted DiBiase. Chi-Town are undefeated, and next week they go head-to-head with The Riot.

WWL TV Week 4 Recap:
Game of the Week: Oklahoma City Outlaws (3-1) @ San Diego Savages (4-0) - The two top teams in the league went toe-to-toe in San Diego this week in a three fall epic. Steve Williams got the first fall with the Oklahoma Stampede to Mistico. Second fall saw Eddie Kingston hit Sheamus with a Lariat to win and in the final fall, the Briscoes hit the Doomsday Device on Sheamus to win the game.
Phoenix Glory (0-4) @ Boston Stranglers (4-0) - After the Outlaws fell, the Stranglers leaped into the #1 spot in the East with a quick victory over Phoenix. Kane would lose to Stan Lane in the first fall, and Necro Butcher would get an Attitude Adjustment as Boston moves to 4-0.
Tokyo Dragons (2-2) @ Utah Pioneers (2-2) - Tokyo showed up in Utah focused and ready to even out their record against Utah, and they did just that when Misawa hit the Tiger Driver on Red Bastien, and Rikidozan chopped down Jim Londos.
New Mexico Coyotes (3-1) @ Seattle Thunderheads (0-4) - Seattle's early season struggles continued at KeyArena as the Coyotes were on the hunt this week. Jack Swagger would take down Kip James with a Gutwrench Powerbomb, and The Miz would hit a Skull Crushing Finale to dispose of Jimmy Snuka.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-4) @ Portland Lumberjacks (4-0) - Portland continued their undefeated run also this week as they took down Los Bandidos at home. Giant Baba won both falls, first over El Hijo del Santo with the Neckbreaker Drop. He would repeat that in the second fall over Dennis Condrey.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-2) @ San Francisco Lions (2-2) - A really competitive match saw two teams hit .500 this week as Chris Hero would elbow Justin Credible to end the first fall, and in the second, Nigel McGuinness would use the London Dungeon to submit Rhino.
New York Titans (2-2) @ Los Angeles Express (2-2) - Rock vs. Austin went down this week at the STAPLES Center as two teams took to one another in a hell of a match. Fall one saw Drew McIntyre hit a Future Shock on Christopher Daniels. The Hart Dynasty responded with a Hart Attack on Brent Albright. Steve Austin would close the game with a Stone Cold Stunner to The Rock to end a classic early season match. These two teams meet again on Week 27 at Madison Square Garden.
Columbus Cardinals (2-2) @ Houston Oilers (3-1) - To the surprise of everyone, not even Lou Thesz and Ric Flair could save Columbus from the wrath of the Undertaker as he would pin Flair with the Last Ride, and would set up Thesz himself to be pinned by George Hackenschmidt in two straight falls as Columbus drops to .500.
Montreal Quebecers (0-4) @ Dallas Shooters (2-2) - The Shooters would take out Montreal very quickly this week as Davey Richards hit the DR Driver on Dr. Wagner Jr, and Big Nasty took down The Mountie with ease. Montreal continues to look like a complete failure as the Shooters get their momentum back.
St. Louis Spirits (2-2) @ New Orleans Destroyers (2-2) - Two tough teams met in New Orleans as Bill Watts came face-to-face with his former team. Andre was all business tonight, pinning Claudio Castagnoli with a Big Splash, and then Bryan Danielson with a Big Splash. The Giant showed the league that he's back as the Destroyers take on Montreal next week.
Detroit Riot (1-3) @ Chicago Warriors (4-0) - The Warriors now tie Boston as the number one team in the East with a quick and easy win over Detroit. CM Punk hit Sabu with the Go To Sleep almost instantly, and Triple H put down Bruiser Brody with a Pedigree.
Atlanta Fire (0-4) @ Orlando Hurricanes (1-3) - Two teams that were legit contenders last year off to a not good start this season. Randy Orton turned it around as he hit the RKO on the Destroyer in Fall One. This angered Goldberg, who hit Curt Hennig with a Spear in Fall Two. With the game split, Orton hit the RKO two times on Sting to bring an end to that match, and to the week itself.

WWL TV Week 5 Recap:
Game of the Week: Oklahoma City Outlaws (4-1) @ Chicago Warriors (4-1) - All good things come to an end as Chi-Town's undefeated run crossed paths with an Outlaws team looking to rebound. Triple H got benched after the first fall when Steve Williams dropped him with the Oklahoma Stampede. Second fall saw Chicago struggle, but Shawn Michaels pulled out the victory in that fall. Third fall would see Wade Barrett pin hometown boy CM Punk with the Wasteland to get OKC back on the right track.
Boston Stranglers (5-0) @ Utah Pioneers (2-3) - Boston keeps their streak alive as they took the fight right to Utah this week. Stan Lane watched from the bench as John Cena won two straight falls with the Attitude Adjustment. First, to Red Bastien, the next to Masked Superstar.

Tokyo Dragons (3-2) @ Portland Lumberjacks (4-1) - Portland reached 4-0 this year before being taken down by a determined Dragons crew. Misawa hit the Tiger Driver on his mentor, Giant Baba in the first fall. Ox Baker's Heart Punch put Liger down in the second fall. New Mexico Coyotes (4-1) @ San Francisco Lions (2-3) - Gorgeous George helped coach his team from the apron, but the Coyotes proved to be a superior team this week. Jack Swagger was once again the MVP of the game, wearing down the opposing team, and setting his teammates up for pins. Roderick Strong would be met with a Skull Crushing Finale from Miz, and Jack Swagger would hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb on Justin Gabriel to end the game.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-5) @ Los Angeles Express (3-2) - Los Bandidos really need to get it together, because at this rate they are on the track to break the record for longest losing streak. Steve Austin saw minimal ring time this week as Rob Van Dam pinned Dennis Condrey in the first fall, and Christopher Daniels put down Don Muraco in the second.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-3) @ Houston Oilers (4-1) - Let's be honest here, if you come into a game against Houston, you've gotta be on top of your game. Philly weren't here, and Houston took advantage of it. George Hackenschmidt got Mick Foley in the first fall, and The Undertaker pinned Steve Corino in the second fall after a chokeslam. Houston are off to a great start this season and next week they take on new Mexico.
New York Titans (3-2) @ Dallas Shooters (2-3) - The battle of Dynamite Kid and Davey Richards was at the center of this heated game as they went into overtime. The first fall saw Dynamite Kid pin Davey Richards. The second fall saw Kerry Von Erich take down Brent Albright. The third fall went to time limit draw. In overtime, Drew McIntyre hit the Future Shock on Davey Richards to win the game. New York takes on New Orleans next week in our featured game of the week.
Columbus Cardinals (2-3) @ San Diego Savages (5-0) - The Champions hosted a technically sound Cardinals team this week, and had a tough road to the victory as Kingston won the first fall for his team. Lou Thesz would respond by beating Mysterio in the second fall but in the final fall, the Briscoes would pin Jim Duggan with a Doomsday Device. The Champs move to 5-0, they'll take on Philadelphia next week.
Montreal Quebecers (0-5) @ New Orleans Destroyers (3-2) - Montreal were clearly overmatched in this game. Dr. Wagner Jr. got taken out by the Big Splash from Andre, and in the second fall, The Mountie would get hit by the Rude Awakening. New Orleans are back on the winning track as they face New York next week.
St. Louis Spirits (2-3) @ Orlando Hurricanes (2-3) - Something has lit a fire in the Orlando Hurricanes as they not only won their game this week, they dominated the Spirits in a two fall beatdown. Randy Orton hit Harley Race with the RKO to end the first fall. Ted DiBiase and Curt Hennig would work over the Spirits for most of the second fall before Hennig pinned Edge with a Hennig Plex. Orlando's on the verge of .500, and maybe the road to the playoffs. They'll face Montreal next week.
Detroit Riot (1-4) @ Atlanta Fire (1-4) - Atlanta were looking for a win this week, and they got just that as they beat a struggling Riot. Goldberg Jackhammered his way through Terry Gordy, and in the second fall Detroit would put up a fight before John Morrison hit Starship Pain on Chris Candido.

Andre couldn't provide much help as he was rarely tagged in. Terry Gordy would take the fall to Drew McIntyre's Future Shock.
Seattle Thunderheads (0-6) @ Boston Stranglers (6-0) - As if Seattle were going to stand a chance against Boston. Kip James would lose both falls, first to Stan Lane, and then to John Cena. Portland continues its battle for the number two spot in the West, they'll face the unbeaten Boston Stranglers next week.
Phoenix Glory (1-5) @ San Francisco Lions (3-3) - Phoenix came in expecting a moderately easy week, according to head coach Greg Gagne. This was not the case as Chris Hero lived up to his nickname, knocking out Necro Butcher in the first fall. Roderick Strong would use the Stronghold to win the second fall over Kane.
Tokyo Dragons (4-2) @ Los Angeles Express (3-3) - The Dragons are not a team to be overlooked, and they proved that again this week with a commanding two fall victory over LA. Rikidozan's chops would be RVD's downfall at the start of the match, and Kawada would pin Tyson Kidd to end the match.
New Mexico Coyotes (4-2) @ Houston Oilers (5-1) - Two of the top teams in the Wild West clashed in Houston as Gary Hart looked to use the youth and size of his team to take out Houston, but it was not meant to be. King Kong Bundy's avalanche would put down Jim Brunzell. Booker T would hit the Bookend on The Miz to win the second fall. In Fall Three, Jack Swagger took his Last Ride, courtesy of the Undertaker, to end the game.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-6) @ Dallas Shooters (3-3) - Los Bandidos continue to struggle as they take on a Dallas team trying to get back to .500, and they would do just that. Delirious hit Shadows Over Hell on Konnan, and then followed that up with Kerry Von Erich's discus punch to Dennis Condrey to end Mexico City's night.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-4) @ San Diego Savages (6-0) - San Diego aren't going to be beaten easily, as indicated by the first five weeks. This week, Philadelphia tried to brawl with the Savages, and that played right into the champions' favor. The Briscoes put down Steve Corino with a Doomsday Device in the first fall. Rhino's Gore would go through Mistico, Rey Mysterio, and Larry Hennig before he finally won the fall. Third fall saw Eddie Kingston hit a lariat on Mick Foley to win the game. San Diego stays undefeated going into next week's game with New Mexico.
Columbus Cardinals (3-3) @ Chicago Warriors (4-2) - Lou Thesz stated last week that he would get his team back on track, and he did just that this week. Thesz pinned Shawn Michaels in the first fall of the game, and then helped Ric Flair submit Triple H as Columbus crawled back to .500.
Montreal Quebecers (0-6) @ Orlando Hurricanes (3-3) - Montreal are in the same rut as Seattle and Mexico City: They're the jobber team of their conference. Orlando took full advantage of this with the shortest game in WWL history at under 6 minutes. Randy Orton hit the RKO on Brutus Beefcake, and Curt Hennig hit the Hennig Plex on Jim Duggan.
Oklahoma City Outlaws (5-1) @ Atlanta Fire (1-5) - Jim Ross rolled into Atlanta with the intent to destroy Dusty Rhodes' team. JR would send a message to the league as Steve Williams' Backdrop Driver would beat Goldberg in the first fall, and Danny Hodge would put away The Destroyer in a great second fall. OKC continues to chase the top spot in the East as they take on St. Louis next week.
St. Louis Spirits (3-3) @ Detroit Riot (1-5) - The Riot have not been doing well this season, and that continued this week as Harley Race and the Spirits blew through the Riot. Harley Race hit Sabu with a Piledriver to end the first fall. The second fall saw Chris Candido attempt to rally and make a comeback, but Bryan Danielson hit a Regalplex to end the game, and the week. STL takes on OKC next week, and that's it for the WWL TV Recap!

ESPN: The East Wants a Title, and a look at the predicted finals:
After Week 6's games, all anyone would ask the various Eastern Conference Coaches is about the post-season. Being a sixth of the way through the season, people starting making bold predictions:
San Diego vs. Boston in the Finals.
It's a match that happens on Week 12, the only time they meet in the regular season. Both teams, as of Week 6, have yet to lose a game, but some coaches predict by Week 35's end, they may not have that same momentum as they do now.
"Well, everyone likes to make predictions.", said New York Titans Coach Jesse Ventura. "They say 'oh, Oklahoma's going to repeat 32 wins!' and 'San Diego vs. New Orleans in the Finals again!' of course now I guess it's Boston instead of San Diego. Both teams have flaws that by Week 35, everyone will know."
"Boston is a very different team than it was last year", said Houston coach Tully Blanchard. "They added Cena and Big Show and it's netted them what, six straight wins? What people don't realize is that those guys are more susceptible to injuries with all the ring time they're getting. They'll have to be benched by mid season, and who does Boston have to help them from there?"
Chicago Warriors interim coach Jim Cornette agreed. "Look, I'm not saying that Boston's not a great team. They're number one in the Conference for Christ's sake. I'm saying that they only have the minimum five wrestlers. They're going to have to sign two people who can fill the void when Cena and Show are on the bench. I don't think they can do it. Of course, I could be wrong. Come Week 14 when we play 'em, we'll see what the lineup is and adjust our strategy accordingly."
We'll take a look at this matchup: Boston Stranglers (BOS): John Cena, Big Show, Bobo Brazil, Stan Lane, Danny Doring, Gran Akuma vs. San Diego Savages (SD): Eddie Kingston, Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, Rey Mysterio, Mil Mascaras, Mistico, Larry Hennig
Right off the bat, the first thing you'll notice is that San Diego has seven wrestlers while Boston has six. Not a huge difference in numbers, but the difference in ability is noticeable.
Boston has Cena, Big Show, Bobo, and Stan Lane. This is a great lineup, but then the other two names on the team don't lend themselves to being potential game savers if they're needed. The team lacks depth. If one of the big players goes to the bench, that might just be it. Trading away Danny Doring for someone who could compliment the style of the other four in the starting lineup would be a good idea in preparing for a series like this.
San Diego's lineup from head to toe is nothing but world class talent. You've got one of the all time greats in Mil Mascaras, the current top luchadores in Rey Mysterio and Mistico, the veteran knowledge of Larry Hennig, the tag team style of the Briscoes, and Eddie Kingston. Any potential starting lineup from SD is a dangerous one.
Several analysts predicted a 4-3 win for Boston if this were indeed the finals, citing reasons like "Cena is a superstar, and Big Show is a giant." Last year's New Orleans team had Rick Rude and Andre the Giant, backed up by some of the best bench talent you could ask for, and they could barely survive a 7 game series with San Diego. The size of Andre was quickly neutralized, and he was injured in the process.
Cena is a great wrestler and contributes more than his share, but could he handle the style of San Diego for a full seven games? Jesse Ventura doesn't think he can.
To add to the New Orleans-Boston comparison, San Diego easily defeated New Orleans again on Week 1. They face New Orleans again on Week 24.
"Could Cena lead Boston in a series against San Diego? No, absolutely not. I don't think Boston could win the series anyways. I don't think they'll last past the early Playoff rounds. There's no depth to their roster. Bobby Heenan said last year that his biggest mistake was trying to have Rick Rude carry the team while Andre was hurt. San Diego will pick at your star until he's useless and resting him won't help at all. Another thing is, they've added the lucha libre style to their team this year. It's not hard to figure out that between falls, if they want to, that they can switch in a few of the Mexican wrestlers and completely change the pace of the match. It's not a match that Boston can win, I just don't see it going 4-3 for them. Maybe 4-1 for San Diego, definitely not for Boston."
Ventura will get a chance to prove what he says true on Week 22 when New York travels to Boston for their only regular season meeting.

WWL TV Week 7 Recap:
Our Game of the Week features a Western Conference Championship rematch, but that's not all as Boston takes on Portland, NYC squares off with the Hurricanes, and OKC takes on STL.
Game of the Week: New Mexico Coyotes (4-3) @ San Diego Savages (7-0) - New Mexico take another touch loss, this week to the Savages. It wasn't a repeat performance of their 7 game series, but it was truly a great game. Eddie Kingston took down One Man Gang with the Sliding D in the opening fall. Jack Swagger immediately tied up the game with the Ankle Lock to Jay Briscoe. The third fall saw the luchadores come in as Mil Mascaras hit the Flying Bodypress on King Kong Bundy to win the game. San Diego are out in front as next week they take on Phoenix, and New Mexico looks to rebound against Chicago.
Boston Stranglers (7-0) @ Portland Lumberjacks (5-2) - Boston took the trip to the Rose Garden this week, and they dominated the Lumberjacks in a two fall win. John Cena would win both falls, first with the STF to Ox Baker, and with the Attitude Adjustment to Mesias after a Knockout Punch from Big Show.
Seattle Thunderheads (0-7) @ San Francisco Lions (4-3) - Seattle continues to fail as they take on the Lions at the Cow Palace. Gotta love the two fall matches, makes everything easier to recap. Chris Hero laid down Alberto Del Rio, and Justin Gabriel's Death Stare 450 would put down Kip James.
Utah Pioneers (3-4) @ Los Angeles Express (3-4) - Steve Austin couldn't help the Express as the Pioneers came to down and dominated the struggling team. Ed Lewis would strangle RVD to end the first fall. Steve Austin would hit the Stunner on Kowalski to get that fall back. In the end, Antonio Inoki's Enzugiri would beat Tyson Kidd. Utah is 6-1 as next week they'll face Dallas.
Phoenix Glory (1-6) @ Houston Oilers (6-1) - The Undertaker sat on the bench for the first fall of this game as Booker T and George Hackenschmidt took to the Glory. Booker's Book End would pin Necro Butcher, and then Kane and Undertaker met in the ring for the first time in WWL history. Kane would take his Last Ride as Houston continued to win, they'll face Seattle next week.
Tokyo Dragons (4-3) @ Dallas Shooters (4-3) - Dallas have been a fighting team this year, and looked like a playoff contender against the always nasty Dragons team. Rikidozan would be benched after the first fall with what appeared to be an arm injury after he chopped down Delirious. Second fall saw Davey Richards beat Yoshi Tatsu in the second fall. Third fall was a long one, but it ended when Antonio Rocca pinned Kawada. Dallas moves beyond .500 and are now tied with the Dragons.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-7) @ New Orleans Destroyers (4-3) - Los Bandidos have been a failing team since the original WWL season, this was no different. Andre's Big Splash pinned Dennis Condrey and Don Muraco. New Orleans are back on the right track, the rest of the league should be on alert.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-5) @ Chicago Warriors (5-2) - Two of the greatest tag teams of all time combined in this game to help Chi-Town win as DX and the Road Warriors alternated falls. First fall saw Mick Foley take the Doomsday Device. Triple H's Pedigree would win the second fall over Rhino. Chi-Town looking in top form as they did last year as they take on New Mexico next week.
New York Titans (4-3) @ Orlando Hurricanes (4-3) - Orlando scored a HUGE upset here as teams captained by third generation stars met in Orlando. Randy Orton would let the Rock know what he thought about him early on, slapping the taste out of the Rock's mouth at the beginning of the game. Rock would hit a Rock Bottom on Don Leo Jonathan in fall one, but from there it was all Orlando. Curt Hennig's Hennig Plex took down Drew McIntyre, and Randy Orton would hit the RKO on The Rock to end the game. Orlando looking like the Hurricanes of old, they'll host Mexico City next week.
Columbus Cardinals (4-3) @ Atlanta Fire (1-6) - Dusty Rhodes walked out of this game early as Lou Thesz and Ric Flair dominated Atlanta in the Phillips Arena. Flair and Sting was the story here, and they would trade falls. Sting got Flair with the Scorpion Death Drop, Flair responded with the Figure Four in Fall Two. The third fall saw Nakamura hit the Boma Ye! on Sting, which would be followed by Flair pinning Sting to win the game.
Montreal Quebecers (0-7) @ Detroit Riot (2-5) - Detroit beats a pathetic Montreal team this week. Austin Aries hit the 450 Splash on Greg Valentine in Fall One, and Sabu would get Dr. Wagner Jr. in Fall Two with the Arabian Facebuster.
Oklahoma City Outlaws (6-1) @ St. Louis Spirits (3-4) - JR met up with his old rival Bill Watts in St. Louis, and the Outlaws continued their roll in a two fall win over the Spirits. Dr. Death hit that Oklahoma Stampede on Harley Race to shock the city in fall one, and Fall Two saw Danny Hodge put down Bryan Danielson in a technical classic.

WWL TV Week 8 Recap:
Game of the Week: Columbus Cardinals (5-3) @ St. Louis Spirits (3-5) - Columbus brought Lou Thesz and Ric Flair to St. Louis to take on Harley Race's rebuild team, and the result was a knock down, drag out battle. Gorgeous George would win the first fall over Shinsuke Nakamura. C-Bus weren't playing around after that, with Ric Flair submitting Lance Storm in Fall Two, and in Fall Three, Lou Thesz would get it done against Harley Race. Columbus takes a huge win going into their game with Montreal next week.
San Francisco Lions (4-4) @ Boston Stranglers (8-0) - Rebuilt, refocused, revitalized, San Francisco headed to Boston this week to attempt to thwart the undefeated streak of the Stranglers. They came real close to doing so. First fall saw Stan Lane pick up the win over Justin Gabriel. Chris Hero turned right around, knocking out Tyler Black. John Morrison would take to the air with Starship Pain on Claudio Castagnoli, and Boston would take their eighth straight win, a team record.
Portland Lumberjacks (5-3) @ Los Angeles Express (4-4) - Portland faced a tough Los Angeles team this week as Steve Austin lead his crew to the ring to prove that they weren't a pushover team. Austin won both falls with the Stunner, first to Ox Baker and second to Tanahashi. LA hits .500 again before they face Boston next week.
Seattle Thunderheads (0-8) @ Houston Oilers (7-1) - Seattle continues to struggle as the Brothers of Destruction made their first appearance in the WWL. Kane would get Kip James in fall number one. Alberto Del Rio's Cross Armbreaker won the second fall over Booker T. The Undertaker would send Jimmy Snuka to the graveyard with the Tombstone, Houston has only one loss, and are lookin' like a playoff team.
Utah Pioneers (4-4) @ Dallas Shooters (5-3) - You can't get any more experienced a team than three brothers, and Dallas showed that picking up the other two Von Erichs may have been the best decision as they beat Utah in a two-fall victory this week. Kerry's Discus Punch would set up Kevin's Body Scissors on Masked Superstar, and David would lock in the Von Erich Claw on Red Bastien to win the game for Dallas.
Phoenix Glory (1-7) @ San Diego Savages (8-0) - Much like Boston, San Diego is all about winning right now, and they continued to do so as Eddie Kingston laid down Jim Brunzell with the Sliding D, and Rey Mysterio hit the 619 on Terry Funk. SD is out in front with no end to this streak in sight as they square off with Seattle next week.
Tokyo Dragons (4-4) @ New Orleans Destroyers (5-3) - Tokyo had to deal with a giant this week, a big, angry giant at that. Andre quickly took to Rikidozan's injured arm, which left the heart of the team unable to contribute much. Andre's Big Splash would be the deciding move in Fall 1 on Kawada. Fall 2 saw Rick Rude hit the Rude Awakening on Jushin Liger to end the match.
New Mexico Coyotes (5-3) @ Chicago Warriors (5-3) - Chicago hosted New Mexico in a hard hitting game this week as DX and the Road Warriors attempted to prove that the West aren't the only ones who can use team experience to their advantage. CM Punk's Go To Sleep put down The Miz in the first fall. Jack Swagger came right back with the Gutwrench Powerbomb on Michaels for the second fall victory. Third fall saw King Kong Bundy hit the avalanche on Punk to end the game.
Mexico City Bandidos (0-8) @ Orlando Hurricanes (5-3) - Los Bandidos should just hang it up, Orlando made quick work of them this week as Randy Orton would RKO El Hijo del Santo in a candidate for shocker of the week, and Ted DiBiase submitted Don Muraco. Orlando starting to build momentum as they face Tokyo next week.
Philadelphia Revolution (2-6) @ Atlanta Fire (2-6) - The Revolution came to Atlanta looking to get win #3, but they would go home disappointed. Goldberg was NOT having it this week as he tore through Rhino in the first fall, and helped the Stinger win the second fall.
New York Titans (5-3) @ Detroit Riot (2-6) - Titans vs. Riot is one of the more heated matches in the league, and the Titans delivered a hell of a beating to Detroit this week. Of course, this isn't to say that the Riot didn't fight, because Bruiser Brody scored the first fall over Drew McIntyre. The Rock would hit the People's Elbow on Sabu, and then Drew McIntyre would hit the Future Shock on Brody, avenging his loss in the first fall.
Montreal Quebecers (0-8) @ Oklahoma City Outlaws (7-1) - OKC completely dismantled Montreal this week as Steve Williams' Backdrop Driver to Brutus Beefcake ended the first fall and Wade Barrett's Wasteland put down Dr. Wagner Jr. OKC lookin' dominant like they did just a year ago. They take on the Titans next week.
