I still love when the COTG cards get an Online release. The extra updates and color make it worth it. They've made some of the really shitty art look passable and better yet... no yellow cards of doom.

Yeah I agree...Werner has colorized and made really bad Bendis art plausible and almost bearable....
What ya mean by the yellow cards of doom?

The cards from 2092 to like 2099. The really ugly yellow ones that stick out like a sort thumb in a pile.

Yeah, we could open 5 threads on the merits/problems with Bendis as a writer, but I don't think anyone would accuse him of being a top artist... he's even said himself he doesn't understand how he got people to pay for his art.
I do still wonder to this day why Tom never pushed Bendis' involvement with CoTG more... he was THE MAN at Marvel for a good 5 years (and is still really prominent).. that's a heck of a tie in. Perhaps he tried and was told not to.

I will say one thing for this era that is highly underrated. There was never a time in the GWF like this era where the Galaxian Title picture was more open. You had Max Shield, Mandrill, Thunder, Vyper, Bloodline, Euritar, Mensar and Ventross all seemed like they could go out there and win the belt on any given night. I really enjoy that kind of openness over one or two guys on top that are just head and shoulders better than everyone else.
