So it's a new year which means a new WWE game so let's address all the rumors so far:
- Next gen (PS4/Xbox One) exclusive - Next gen developed by 2K/Visual Concepts while current gen (PS3/360) developed by Yuke's - Online WWE Universe mode - WCW historical mode - 2K's Player mode
Which of these do you think are likely to be true, which do you think are bullshit and what do you want to see this year from 2K's first real WWE outing?

WCW historical mode seems awfully un-Vince like.. unless he plans to make it look stupid or something. I could see 'Monday Night Wars' mode where you run the WWF AGAINST WCW, and try to recruit guys and stuff. Having a nice mode for angles and characters he didn't create seems weird though.

Monday Night Wars mode seems unlikely since they just did the Attitude Era two years ago. At this point, they understand that the historical retelling modes are what fans want because their regular story modes sucked and fans wanted something different. It wouldn't shock me if WCW were the mode this year, but I could also see them doing a WWE 02-04 mode and I wouldn't really object to that.

Cory Ledesma is apparently no longer with 2K. We might see some actual change this year.

I don't think it'd ever happen but some sort of 'in the territories' mode where you where a up and comer in a 60s and had to choose between a few promoters would be pretty sweet, too.

That was actually attempted something like that back in Showdown: Kegends of Wrestling. The only bad thing was you had to pick an established legend and guide them from the 70s up to 1999 whether they were active for that entire time period or not.

As if it weren't already a foregone conclusion, 2K announced WWE 2K15 yesterday and announced that it would be on PS4 and Xbox One. Presumably on PS3/360 as well because they're complete fools if they go next-gen only this year.

SO here's the current list of rumors for the game: - PS4/Xbox One exclusive (though this is not looking likely since NBA 2K15 was announced for PS3/360 as well, this should be too) - WWE Network mode brings live stat updates and daily matches, much like NBA Today in NBA 2K - No historical mode, back to the clusterfuck legends roster - CGI level graphics (I'm not even sure what that means since video games are CGI) - New control scheme for PS4/Xbox One, which kind of backs up my theory that the next-gen offering will be developed by a different team than the current gen offering - The game is rumored to be shown at E3, which starts on 6/10. This is right about the time they showed the first trailer last year.

"CGI level graphics". hehehe. That sounds like something an intern in marketing came up with. Network mode could be interesting... With say being able to play an approximation of the previous night's RAW on Tuesday... Kinda like the PPV codes from WCW Mayhem. But what would be the point of stat updates? I'm fine with no historical mode, since I mostly just book my own stuff anyway.

I guess the point of stat updates is that if someone gets a push, their overall would improve and vice versa if they get pushed down the card.

2K confirmed today that the game will, in fact, release on 10/28. This leads me to think we're gonna see the game first at E3, which runs from June 10-12. At the latest I could see us getting the initial reveal would be late June like we did with WWE 2K14. It'd be something if we got the first news next week, though. Seems kind of odd they'd give us the release date this far our and not follow up relatively soon with some sort of reveal.

That was what WWEGames Community Manager Jared Rea posted on the official 2K forums today. Frankly, all I'd want is a trailer with a few details and I'd be happy with that.
