IT makes sense to me from a business standpoint to package a couple legends cards with a current set... Silas Young's not selling alot of sets. Since FG has sold things alot of different ways (stables, singles, small sets, big sets) I'm going to assume that however they're doing it is how they think they'll move the most sets. That's not the same as what would make long time players happy, or even (necessarily) RoH fans happy.
I've often thought it would make alot of sense for all the different feds to have a 'get the current roster' type set along with the regular releases... it'd be nice for new customers to be able to click one button and get a 30 card set with the guys they see on TV (mostly), instead of picking through 8 or 9 6 card sets and figuring out who they want.
PRobably too much trouble, I guess.

Just throw up every card ever under it's proper bannner (ROH, CHIKARA, LOW, EVOLVE, CWFH, CZW, SHIMMER etc...) and charge a buck or two for each, and require a minimum purchase. The crew can put together a game card in 24-48 hours when we've wanted to. We could launch new cards daily if we had to, never falling behind on any current storyline. It would perpetually profitable, it would be fast, it would be efficient, and we'd be able to release new cards at a moments notice, not having to wait X amount of months for the next set. Maybe one day.

Unless Tom abandoned the "set" format this won't happen. Otherwise he'd always be worried about breaking up sets and having cards not sell. So he'd want to make sure each individual card he released is likely to sell.

Pick any 6 for whatever they charge for them, then knock 2 bucks off for every 6 after that. You could keep pricing for 12, 16, 24 packs and just let the person choose. I think the bigger hurdle would be handling the orders, but manufacturing the cards on a daily/weekly basis is easy.

Both AJ and Daniels were agreed upon, statted, art done and handed in to Tom within 24 hours or so for teasers. Werner is the man under fire when he needs to be. I like to work fast.

I think it's really cool when there's a quick turnaround. A lot of the times guys come out and they no longer fit where they are at that point (like Gargano in Chikara)

I mean, how many people are going to want Rhett Titus or Nick Madrid? But there's work arounds in that system like having people choose from two tiers on the cards or things like that. You could still make people take the less popular cards while giving them a greater level of freedom.

Honestly for now. It it's not broke, don't fix it. I think Tom knows what he is doing when it comes to selling sets. And if you are trying to branch out to new players you are going to see some overlap between the different brands of cards sets Tom has right now. Not everyone is buying every fed like a lot of us die hards do. Getting a few updated cards here and there doesn't bother me in the least and it is good for those folks new to the game that watch or have watched the current product. I don't think a new AJ card is needed. The two out now scratch that itch and one can always adjust stats as needed depending on which card you are using. As Swarm has said his current incarnation could be the one with the hood up. I am hoping that we see a Matt Hardy card at some point. Getting Christopher Daniels has me hoping Kazarian is also coming.

I'd think both side by side could work. Keep releasing things as 6 packs for $16, but also sell single cards for, say, $4 each.. and tier it so it gets cheaper (but not as cheap as the pre-made sets) as you buy more.... maybe $4 for 1 $10 for 3 $18 for 6. That would even better than making 'starter packs' every so often. I'd think the ability to add a guy or two you like when buying a new set from one you skipped might increase the average order a bit.

Honestly for now. It it's not broke, don't fix it. I agree that the current system is not broken, imo this is just adventurous business chatter. Die-hards like us will always fantasize about how many new game cards we can get at a rapid clip. That's why things like the Yahoo bootleg group are so wildly popular.

I'm not against the system of creating your own sets especially with the current line of colour cards. I think IF the wrinkles can be worked out it could be a very awesome set up. Especially for folks wanting to customize their feds. This is something like the Online sets is it not?

So we've got Daniels, Forever Hooligans, and presumably Kazarian (educated guess based on the teaser video at the end of the iPPV) and very likely another Bryan Danielson. Other than the Danielson card I could take or leave, that's a huge step up from the last six in my opinion. No matter who the sixth card is this will probably be worth the buy.
