8-21-08 Kansas City, KS Show opens with Marc “The Mad” Kanter at ringside. Kanter: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another edition of All Star Wrestling. I’m your host Marc “The Mad” Kanter and Central States Wrestling has gone through a little bit of a reorganization since we last convened. In the time since we were last on the air, Harley Race has lost the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Footage of Race losing the title in NWA Powerhouse is shown. Kanter: Unfortunately for Race he had already forfeited the Central States Heavyweight Title before he left the territory. That means the Central States Heavyweight Title is vacant. Tonight we start an eight man, single elimination tournament to crown a new champ. Since we’ve reorganized just a bit seeding for the tournament was done randomly as to be fair to all the participants. Tonight we have the first round. Next week we have the semifinal and finals. Also, next week we’ll be joined by the NWA World Tag Team Champions. More about that later on in our new segment called NWA Champions Roll Call. Now, let’s go to the ring and get our tournament underway. CSW Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match Harley Race vs. Butch ReedThis was a battle of power against power. Both men pounded the hell out of each other. The action ended up outside the ring and Race rammed Reed’s head into the steel ring post, drawing the disqualification from the ref. Race ignored the ref and continued his assault on Reed. Race delivered two backbreakers outside the ring, leaving Reed lying in agony. (break) CSW Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match “Bruiser” Bob Sweetan vs. Dick The BruiserThis was more power against power but it was a sunset flip by Bruiser that pinned Sweetan. (break) Dan Gier is at the update desk for the NWA Champions Roll Call Gier: Good evening folks, I’m Dan Gier and this is NWA Champions Roll Call. It’s been a very busy last couple of weeks for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. As you know Harley Race left this territory two weeks ago to tour the rest of the NWA and defend his newly won title. His first stop was NWA Powerhouse. Let’s go to NWA Powerhouse’s JJ Sloane and find out exactly what happened when Race got there. Sloane: Greetings fans and fellow promoters. This is JJ Sloane with "The High Voltage Re-Wind" "STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD!" That is what the fans were chanting last night as "High Voltage" went off the air celebrating the New NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!! As was reported the World Heavyweight Champion, HARLEY RACE was scheduled to be at "High Voltage." By the end of the night RACE was set to defend his newly won championship in a Fatal Four Way Elimination Match. He would be facing, DUSTY RHODES (Race's pick), JBL (Copper's pick) and AUSTIN (BRET HART'S pick). AUSTIN eliminated every man on his own earning the right to be the NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION. RHODES, JBL and RACE all fell victim to the "Stone-Cold Stunner." And "High Voltage" went off the air with "STONE COLD" STEVE AUSTIN holding the championship high.Gier: Thanks JJ. Now Harley Race would get his chance to regain the title one week later. Let’s go back to JJ Sloane. Sloane: Our main event featured the new NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, “STONE COLD” STEVE AUSTIN defending the title against HARLEY RACE. The two men went after each other tooth and nail. Not only were they competing for the richest prize in the NWA but also the title of “Toughest S.O.B. in the world.” At one point, EDGE interfered and attempted a Spear on AUSTIN but was given a “Stone Cold Stunner” for his troubles. AUSTIN went back to RACE. RACE regained control of the match, but was hit by a desperation “Stunner” which got the pin for AUSTIN. “STONE COLD” STEVE AUSTIN was celebrating his successful defense when TONY ATLAS came to the ring. He challenged an exhausted AUSTIN. “STONE COLD” accepted the match. The two men went at it. Unfortunately, AUSTIN”S toughness was no match for ATLAS’ power. After two Gorilla Press Slams, ATLAS rolled up AUSTIN for the victory and became the new NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Gier: The NWA World Tag Team Champions were in NWA Heartland for their defense. NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE ROAD WARRIORS (c) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS The battle for the World Tag Team Championship was a classic! The Kangaroos and the Road Warriors hooked up in a duel which lasted over 40 minutes. The champions held the advantage for much of the contest, but the Kangaroos tagged frequently to stay fresh, and picked their spots for counterattacks to keep the Warriors at bay. The Road Warrios very nearly pinned Heffernan after a Doomsday Device, but Costello narrowly made the save. Heffernan was clearly stunned by the blow, and Hawk went to work, beating him down to the point of exhaustion. Just as it appeared that the Kangaroos were finished, Heffernan made a desperation tag to Costello, who stormed into the ring on fire! Costello took the measure of both Road Warriors with a barrage of dropkicks and forearm smashes. Heffernan regained enough stamina to rejoin the assault, as both Kangaroos delivered a double clothesline to Hawk which sent him tumbling from the ring. The Aussies followed up quickly, delivering a deadly Boomerang to Animal. Costello made the cover, but before Joe Kopasz could complete the three count, Hawk dragged him out of the ring and slugged him on the side of the head. Kopasz staggered to his feet and called for the bell, awarding the match to the Kangaroos via disqualification.
WINNERS: THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS (Road Warrior Hawk disqualified for striking the referee)Gier: That happened at NWA Heartland Havoc XVIII in Dayton, Ohio. The rematch came one week later, also in Dayton. MAIN EVENT: NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP THE ROAD WARRIORS (c) vs. THE FABULOUS KANGAROOS The rematch from the controversial match at Havoc was much more decisive. The Kangaroos started quickly, catching one near fall after the Boomerang on Hawk. But Hawk kicked out of the pinning predicament with authority and roared back into action, turning Heffernan upside down with a clothesline. Hawk tagged in to Animal, and the duo executed a crushing Doomsday Device to cap off a decisive victory.
WINNERS: THE ROAD WARRIORS - Retained World Tag Team Championship (Animal pinned Heffernan after a Doomsday Device)Gier: The Road Warriors will bring their tour here starting next week. It’ll be interesting to see who Central States brings to the table to challenge for those NWA World Tag Team Titles. That’s it for this week’s roll call. We’ll see you next week. (break) CSW Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match Bob Orton, Sr. vs. Ted DiBiaseMost of the action took place outside of the ring but it was inside the ring that DiBiase finally pinned Orton following the LOADED GLOVE. DiBiase tried several previous times to get the pin but came up short, once as a result of “Cowboy” Bob Orton, Jr.’s interference. After the match, “Iron” Mike DiBiase ran to the ring. Ortons, Sr. & Jr. met the DiBiases head on and a wild brawl ensued. Both families brawled all the way back to the dressing room. (break) CSW Heavyweight Title Tournament First Round Match The Sheik (w/Abdullah Farouk) vs. Masked SuperstarThis was a quick match in which The Sheik used the FIREBALL to get the victory. Kanter: What a great night of wrestling it’s been. Next week, we have our Central States Heavyweight Title Tournament Semifinals. “Hacksaw” Butch Reed will face off against Dick the Bruiser in a battle of fan favorites and Ted DiBiase takes on the always dangerous Sheik. We’ll see you next time on All Star Wrestling. Good night. (Fade to black)

Reed was injured slightly last week at the hands of Harley Race. Footage of Race’s post match attack on Reed is shown. Kanter: The other semifinal match will feature local favorite Ted DiBiase taking on the diabolical Sheik with manager Abdullah Farouk. After his first round match last week, DiBiase and his father got into a tussle with another family here in the Central States region – The Ortons. Footage of the DiBiase/Orton postmatch brawl is shown. Kanter: Both of those matches take place later on tonight. Plus the NWA Champions Roll Call. Let’s go to the ring and get started. (break) Dan Gier: Hello folks, I’m Dan Gier back with another NWA Champions Roll Call. This time the NWA World Heavyweight Title was being defended in NWA Tradition. NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH © Tony Atlas defeated Adam Pearce The newly crowned NWA Champion was just able to escape with the championship by the skin of his teeth. Pearce before the match looked at the title that Atlas brought to the ring and spit on it! Regardless Pearce looked like he had the victory after a double knee stomp to Atlas as Pearce was going for the pin, BRENT ALBRIGHT appeared wearing a RED NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! Albright went to charge into the ring but was held back by security, Pearce looked back at Albright and words were said between the two. As Pearce was distracted Atlas rolled up Adam from behind for the 3 count and victory! Atlas left the ring and went right by Albright wearing his NWA Championship. Pearce was irate after the match and continued to scream at Albright who was still being held back! Roderick Strong suddenly hit the ring and attacked Pearce from behind! Strong delivered a tilt a whirl back breaker and threw Pearce outside of the ring! Dan Severn came into the ring as he and Roderick Strong brawled out of the ring and into the crowd. The show ends with Albright standing by the fallen Pearce holding HIS NWA CHAMPIONSHIP up high screaming at Pearce that he will see him on August 30th 2008 Gier: After this match, NWA Commissioner Gorilla Monsoon made this announcement. In light of the recent happenings of the last few weeks, Atlas challenging Austin after he defended the title against Harley Race, then the Tony Atlas VS Adam Perace match which saw the interference of Brent Albright which holds the red NWA Title! As the president of the National Wrestling Alliance I here by hold up the NWA World's Heavyweight Title!
