April 12, 2010 from Rice StadiumTCW brings you Monday night MayhemMatch One: Crossbones defeats George SouthSouth held his own in this opening match and both men had multiple pin attempts but after South hit a snap mare on Crossbones, Ultramantis black trip South and Crossbones dove right in. Cross bones pinned South at 7 minutes and 38 seconds.
Match Rating ***1/2Match Two: Reggie Bennett defeats Wendi RichterBennett comes to the ring with Raven
Back and forth match but the tide started to turn when Bennett got cocky during a pin attempt after a slam. Richter kicked out at two and was hit by a top rope splash by Bennett. Both women left the ring and Richter whips her opponent into the ring pole. The referee warns Richter who does it again. Raven is up but it no longer matters as the referee calls for the bell. Richter has been disqualified and Bennett wins in just over 10 minutes.
Match Rating ***1/2Match Three: Orlando Jordan defeats Tommy RichThis wild match had the crowd on their feet. The power and strength of Jordan versus the speed and technical ability of Rich. The match was incredibly even with each man surviving the others finisher and assorted pin attempts. A swinging neck breaker seemed to hurt Rich and he could just not recover. Orlando choked Rich until the referee broke the hold and then Orlando went right back again sucking the fight right out of Rich. A second swinging neck breaker sealed the deal and Jordan pinned Rich at
15 minutes and 59 seconds.
Match Rating ****1/4Match Four: The Midnight Rider defeats Rip OliverThe lights went out and the familiar red mist signaled the coming of the Army of Darkness. Chanting could be heard as the robed figures marched single file to ringside. Fallen Angel seems to holding what looks like a skull and the eyes are glowing red. The lights come back on as the Army is seated.
Michael Cappetta “ Ladies and Gentleman the newest TCW wrestler standing 6’ 4 inches and weighing 325 pounds from Odessa Texas-The Midnight rider, accompanied to the ring by Kevin Sullivan and the Fallen Angel. He will take on Rip Oliver in his TCW debut.
The Midnight Rider and Rip Oliver get into a shoving match in the middle of the ring but The Midnight rider toss in a short clothesline to put Oliver to the canvas.
Oliver had to endure 10 minutes of all out offense because Rip only had about 30 seconds of offense in this match lasting 10 minutes and 30 seconds. The Midnight Rider slammed Oliver and covered but at the two count The Midnight Rider pulled Oliver up. The Midnight Rider hit an Odessa backbreaker and turned it into power bomb. Oliver is hurt! The Midnight Rider climbs to the tope rope and hits what he calls his branding Iron and covers a motionless Oliver. One………..two…….three..no question about that one.
Match Rating ***1/2Match Five: Red River Jack defeats Chief Jay StrongbowBefore the match Sullivan, Raven, Fallen Angel and Ultramantis Black circle Jack chanting and writing in the air with their fingers. The skull sitting at ringside glows an eerie shade of dark red.
Gary Cappetta “ Ladies and Gentlemen another new comer to TCW Standing 6’7 weighing 285 from Red River County Texas, he will take on Chief Jay Strongbow from.
Before Cappetta can finish his introduction Red River Jack attacks Strongbow. Strongbow regains his composure and retaliates with a Tomahawk Chop. Red River Jack is down, he does not appear to be hurt but isn’t attempting to get up? Strongbow covers and the referee gets into position. One ... two ... thr….Kevin Sullivan enters the ring, but Chief Jay Strongbow chases him around the ringside area. Chief Jay Strongbow may be counted out.
Chief Jay Strongbow gets back in the ring at the 9 count and continues the attack.
Chief Jay Strongbow hits Jack with the War Dance knee lift and Jack is down and may be hurt. Chief Jay Strongbow goes for a standing dropkick, but Red River Jack catched Strongbow in the air and hits a twisting vertical suplex, Chief Jay Strongbow is down and appear hurt. Red River Jack Jumps from the second rope and places his knee sqaurly in the back of Chief Jay Strongbow. And covers, One ... two ... three! Red River Jack Pins the Chief in 10 minutes and 43 seconds.
Match Rating ***1/2Match Six: Johnny Valentine defeats Scott SteinerHeenan, Bockwinkel, and Stevens walk to the ring with Scotty. They wait at ringside as Rogers and Valentine make their way down.
These two warriors battled fiercely and half way through the match a brawl erupted on the outside between Rogers and Bockwinkel. Bockwinkel and Rogers are ejected from ringside for the match. The referee tells Heenan to control his men and Heenan yells something back. Valentine and Scotty pummel each other outside but both make the 9 count to get back in the ring.
Scotty is slower to his feet than Valentine and Valentines climbs to the top rope. Scotty makes his way to the turnbuckle and throws Valentine back onto the canvas. Scotty hits a Frankensteiner and gets a two count.
Valentine rolls out of the ring to stop Scotty’s momentum. Scotty puts Valentines head into the announcers table and rolls him into the ring. Scotty hits another Frankensteiner and the referee gets into position.
One…..two…someone is running to the ring and its…………..Brutus Beefcake, Brutus puts Johnny Valentine's foot on the bottom rope, breaking the count! The referee chastises Beefcake who remains at ringside. Scotty continues the assault on Valentine.
Valentine finally manages to reverse one of Scotty’s moves slaps a reverse chin lock on Scotty. Valentine tries a quick roll up and gets a two count before Heenan jumps to onto the ring apron. The referee gets tired of Bobby Heenan's antics and ejects Bobby and Ray Stevens from ringside! Bobby Heenan cannot be for the rest of the match and the next match! Johnny Valentine continues the assault! Johnny Valentine hits a snap mare and throws Scotty into the ropes following with a big chop to the chest. That hurt Scotty and Valentine covers for the three count as Beefcake meets Rick Steiner who comes running to the ring. 30 minutes and 29 seconds after the match started Valentine gets a hard earned victory.
Match Rating *****Match Seven: Buddy Rogers defeats Rick SteinerScott Steiner stays at ringside for his brother’s match. Beefcake stays out in Rogers corner as Valentine is spent.
The crowd got onto their feet about 10 minutes into this 47 minute marathon. They stayed on their feet for the duration of the match, Rick was able to get 4 pin attempts on Rogers and Buddy had 5 of his own along with 2 incredible moves that wowed the crowd.
Both men were obviously exhausted after the marathon but Rogers was bale to lock in the figure four and though he escaped it twice before Rick did not have enough this time and had to submit.
The match lasted 46 minutes and 59 seconds and would be a main event anywhere but we are just beginning.
Match Rating *****Match Eight: The Black Jacks defeat the Disciples of the apocalypse with Fallen AngelThe Army of Darkness lead Sullivan and Raven to the ring. Fallen Angel hold the skull with the glowing red eyes. The red mist thickens and the chanting begins a frantic pace. When the group reaches the ring there is silence.
Black Jack Lanza a new free agent to the LWA joins Black Jack Mulligan in this match against the disciples of the apocalypse.
A few minutes into the match Mulligan has Sullivan down in a Black glove Claw when Fallen Angel enters the ring and distracts Black Jack Mulligan who turns to face the female, Kevin Sullivan recovers and attacks Black Jack Mulligan from behind!
Midway through the match Mulligan has Raven down this time for a cover……one…..Fallen Angel attacks Black Jack Mulligan, The referee begin to wave for a DQ but Mulligan stops him. Black Jack Mulligan fights off the attack and throws Fallen Angel out of the ring! Then Black Jack Mulligan attacks Raven!
Towards the end of this brawl Raven has a cobra clutch on Lanza and he manages to reach the ropes so the referee breaks the hold. Lanza rolls out of the ring and Raven follows putting Lanza’s head into the announcers table.
Raven tags in Sullivan who is thrown the golden spike by Fallen Angel. Sullivan bloodies Lanza’s head but the referee did not see as he was getting Raven out of the ring. Sullivan goes for the pin as All four men end up in the ring and a wild brawl erupts in the ring as a pin save is attempted, but the referee restores order!
The disciples regroup on the outside when Lanza flies over the top rope headed towards Sullivan. Kevin still holding the golden spike steps out of the way and hits Lanza again with the spike. Sullivan rolls Lanza into the ring and attempts the pin, Mulligan is stopped by Raven when he tries to make the save but Lanza kicks out at two.
Lanza is able to crawl to Mulligan and make the tag. Sullivan slaps on the Satanic Sleeper and Mulligan is wobbly. Mulligan sends himself and Sullivan over the top rope and Sullivan breaks Mulligans fall. Mulligan picks Sullivan up from the floor and rams his opponent's head into the ringside table! Black Jack Mulligan slaps the Black Gloved Claw on Sullivan who is screaming in pain. Black Jack Mulligan throws Sullivan into the ring and tags in Lanza who applies his version of the black gloved claw.
Sullivan will not submit and seems to be enjoying the pain. Lanza tags in Mulligan who immediately elbows Sullivan in the head. Fallen Angel tries to interfere, but Black Jack Mulligan whips Kevin Sullivan into Fallen Angel for a big collision! Then Black Jack Mulligan uses his finisher on Kevin Sullivan! Mulligan locks in the claw in the center of the ring and Lanza goes after Raven.
Sullivan will not submit but passes out from the pain with a smile on his face and the referee stops the match. 25 minutes and 27 seconds into this one the referee awards the match to the Blackjack because Kevin Sullivan is unable to continue.
Match Rating ****1/4Sullivan and Raven leave ringside with the Army in tow and seem to be exchanging words.
Match Nine: For the TCW TV Title- Rikidozan defeats Sam HayneFallen Angel stays at ringside for this title match. Hayne begins strong getting a couple quick pin attempts and Rikidozan counter with a couple of his own. That’s seemed to infuriate Fallen Angel.
Fallen Angel is at ringside when Rikidozan sends Hayne out of the ring after some overhead chops.Hayne appears hurt but wait so does Fallen Angel. The referee goes to her aid and that gives Hayne precious time to recover. What should have been a ten count ended up being a 44 count.
Hayne rolls back into the ring still hurt and is hit again by those over head chops. That staggers Hayne and then Rikidozan cracked Hayne across the chest with a chop that put him on the canvas. Rikidozan covers and Fakllen Angel is not able to distract the referee this time and Rikidozan get the three count retaining his title. The match was 11 minutes and 40 seconds of excitement
Match Rating ****1/4Match Ten : For the TCW Championship- Nick Bockwinkel defeated JBLJBL stands in the ring waiting for the Champion. Bockwinkle heads to the ring with Heenan and out of no where Buddy Rogers comes from the crowd and attacks Bockwinkel. Stevens is right behind with Beefcake and Valentine following him. There is a brawl that last for 10 minutes and security had to separate the men.
Bockwinkel seems to have a slight limp as he makes his way to the ring. JBL kicks Bock in the gut as he enters the ring then JBL lifts Bock for a suplex. JBL drops Bock and then puts him into an Argentine backbreaker.
JBL ccovers Bock for a two count and Bock leaves the ring.
JBL hits a perfect flying cross-body to the outside and then bear hugs Bock. JBL releases the hold and rolls Bock into the ring. The action is back and forth and the crowd is going wild.
JBL goes for a front headlock, but Bockwinkel counters and locks in an abdominal stretch. Bockwinkel lifts JBL and hits a piledriver, JBL is hurt and as he attempts to get up Bockwinkel buried his knee into JBL’s back..
Bockwinkel locks in the figure four but JBL is able to power through and grab the rope. The referee breaks the hold and JBL leaves the ring. Bockwinkel climbs the rope and flys at JBL connecting with a perfect flying cross-body to the outside! The referee starts the count, One... two... JBL crawls back into the ring. Bockwinkel meets JBL with a pile driver and JBL looks hurt. Bockwinkel locks in the figure four leg lock and JBL taps.
20 minutes and 15 seconds into the match JBL submits to the figure four leglock.
Match Rating *****Bobby Heenan takes the microphone, “Nick Bockwinkel is being robbed. He has been beaten once and that was only because that clown Bundy interfered in the tournament to decide the first LWA champion. My Man Bock has beaten Race, Gordy, Roger, Brazil, Sullivan, Andre the giant and all other comers. When will he be recognized?”
Bockwinkel “You want to buy my ticket, I’ll come beat up your champ” Bockwinkel throws down the microphone and leaves with Heenan.
