Checking it out online... some quick hits: -- The promoter pick that's Randy Orton ISN'T Encubus... it's a new guy.. Hector brought in a friend to 'play' Thantos to mess with him. -- Monolith is the guy that got injured. Wolf is also gone.... no 'official' statement as to won won the showdown. He car was blown up on Aethra. -- The Gladiators are alligned with Sly Drury, against Hector's Team and the FDF.. every else is just there for the infinity challenge. -- FDF: Endgame - Tauran-Ensor- Retribution Rogues Gallery - Paganax, Coven Black, Nosefra, Bishop Hell Legends of the Ring: Hector, Thantos, Swarm, Payback, Sultana Martial Law: Sly, Encubus, Patch, Symbosis (a new guy.. sweet art.. he's the 'price' the aliens in the infinity challenge paid) Covert Ops: Havoc, Anivar, Clinch, Shoot, Phantasy, Dark Menace, Sleeper Cell Gladiators: Overmaster, Rush, Paralyze, Turmoil, Strafe. -- No story at all for Paganax... just that he was the leader of Primus and Drury offered him the chance to lead a new team. -- Infinity Challenge - Probably the best done part of the book... Each guy does indeed have a bit about how they feel about it... some guys like it, some don't... Frontal Assault wants Nitro to dump Tristan and form a team. The Betrayer wants to team with Tristan. Vidtek is feuding with Gryt, and sabotaging Rotunda trying to get in shape (I kid you not). -- The idea with the aliens is that Abroz plays his hunches, with dilectas likes logic.. sorta Kirk Vs. Spock. I'll post some on the stats later

Card Comments:
Anivar: I'd call it a downgrade, almost a lateral update. Sleeper Cell is is new finisher... you either get a generic attack, roll on the card, or it fails... he's got a regular one too... rest of the card is pretty similar.
Bishop Hell: stats are as posted in the preview... I find it interesting that Hellfire isn't illegal.
Coven Black: probably mid card... pretty good offense, terrible defense (4 downs) Finisher is the pedigree.. nothing funky mechanic wise.
Clinch and Shoot: Both pretty good stats... probably upper mid-card. Clinch has a finisher chart. Shoot's stats look alot like EC Morpheus, only with (sorta) MMA moves.
Paganax - Lateral change from his last ACE card... Slightly better defense, slightly worse offense... seems like change for changes sake... probably you could use the ACE one and it would be fine
Tauran - Looks like a teenager in the pic. Maybe a slight downgrade... now has 1 roll finisher (can't miss) AG dropped (guess he's at those awkward years). I suspect he'll be gone in a set or two.
Randy Orton, er, Thantos - Good card.. a match for Encubus. Has the Masterlock as his finisher.
Symbosis - Defnitely the most interesting card in the set.. has a mechanie where the symboite drops off after 3 tokens, and he goes from being a power guy (lots of reversals, high pin good power, lousy agility) to a speed guy (Ag and pin get alot better, loses a bunch of pw and reversals).. Probably on mid-card, though.
Turmoil - I'd say the best stats...he's like a Gladiator version of Sabu. has 3 finishers(1 of them tag), all of which add one to him, too. 0 pin. The tag finisher ends up with the opponent in the stands, which is odd. Triple Suicide is like a triple jump moonsault to the floor.
There's ALOT of online card tweaks.. like 1 stat point here or a down instead of a hurt there.. most of the guys have something.

Ok, now for my editorial comments:
There's really not much there in terms of plot... this is really a 'holding pattern' set... no big surprises. It feels like the main plot point was to take Monolith out of the picture.
I'd say Tom realize he was TOO good, and needed to tone down his stats, but I don't really think that's true.. he's not that far ahead of the rest of the GWF.
I'm most disappointed that there was no mention of Epoch at all.. that plot point was totally dropped.. why string it along then? Also no mention at all of the Bloodline/Encubus/Mother Superior thing, other than Bloodline's not in the Main Event picture anymore. I guess Tom doesn't want to commit to the conclusion yet?
I could see the real Thantos coming back next set, settling that, and being the next commissioner... that'd be interesting. Other than something like that, I really don't see where the story is going... I'm sure Monolith will be back next set, and feud with the Gladiators. The slow burn on Sly and HEctor will get resloved (It was stated in this set he's under contract until the end of next year.) Maybe after that 'business will pick up'.
The best part is definitely the infinity challenge... it's fun, and you could set it up to do it in parts, which would be really intriguing... if I do any 2125 playing, that'll be it.
The top feuds really don't interest me much, there's just not much there.. the good guys are fighting Sly, but why? It's been said he's a pretty good commissioner.

I got the online and I have not read the book yet...but it appears that Bishop Hell is the same Bishop Hell, which would be impossible! The cards for all the Bishop Hell's are all "connected" so not sure yet. Just seemed to bother me....I know I need to read the book, but throwing it out there.

Nah, this guy is from some cult that worshipped Bishop Hell. The Cult name? "Sons of Bishop Hell".
Seriously.

Yeah, I noticed they were connected too, not sure why... The new Thantos isn't... heck, even Sly Drury isn't connected to Iron Hand.
The book identifies the planet the Royal Court or from, and says this guy was a member of the revolution, like Turk said.

Yeah, the new Bishop Hell is not the "REAL" one, but why have him connected then? Just doesn't make sense.
I am still wondering why they have someone else be Thantos, which kinda seems like the fake Razon Ramon and fake Diesel.....but maybe that is just me

The story really skimped on everything. You can provide background and little current happienings and get it right or have little background and focus on the present but this just lacked both. It was very stale. The focus was on what a bad man Drury was- for grand larceny.
I was underwhelmed.

Yeah, the top of the card was pretty boring... no advancement on any plot at all, really, WE found out a bit more info.. but the people in the GWF universe didn't.. just a few rumors. Perhaps Hector is really a time traveller, that would explain why he's got Randy Orton and Batista on his team I do like the infinity challenge alot, though... I'm not anywhere near current, but I might play just that for a bit... that's definitely peaked my interest. I think I was most disappointed by Paganax... he could have been any big guy at all...heck, it probably would have fit the theme better if he was Massif Junior or Chaos II or something.

The infinity challenge is about the only good thing I've heard about this set what is it?

What I'm curious about is if they are putting out another book for the "complete roster" option so that new people just jumping on board will know what all the established moves and finishers and whatnot are.
To say nothing of major plot points like Tauran's devolving. I think they should lock him in the Transevolver with an earth mammal and create a new Ani-Man: The Incredible Bager!

The infinity challenge is about the only good thing I've heard about this set what is it? There are two aliens, Abroz and Dilectas, that basically have purchases the mid card of the fed. They'll be picking teams (5 singles, 2 tag teams, 2 women) and seeing who wins. Abroz picks on 'gut instinct', while Dilectas picks based on reason/stats. There's no official teams in the book, just a little blurb from each guys about how they feel about it, if they want to be in singles or tag, etc.

I think he's aging awfully fast.. I definitely wouldn't be volunteering for that... he's de-aged at least 20 years in the last 5 game sets. That's an interesting thought about the big package... I'd be willing to be there ISN'T anything other than the 2125 book.. there isn't anything indicated in the desc. when you buy it... there should be, though.

Is the winner of the challenge determined by a point system or something else ? You say there's no official teams what about FDF,Covert Ops, etc

There's no offical teams in the mid-card... so no Dark Carnival, Titans, Ani-Men, etc. The top teams are still there, almost a separate fed. FDF, Hector's Team (Legends of the Ring) and Covert Ops are the faces, with the Rogue's Gallery, Martial Law, and the Glads on the heel side. There's no specific point system or anything given,(ala war games)...like much of the stuff in this edition, it's up to you
