Hey! Maybe this could be the start of a whole new race to feud with the Ani-Men! Half man, half vegetable products!
Think about the sheer awesomeness of a half-man, half-mushroom cybernetically-enhanced standout to feud with Swarm. Look out...here comes MYCONOID!!!* You'll see why his SPOREFIRE is going to send Bishop Hell and his puny HELLFIRE running back to the chessboard.
You think Mantis is the strangest rookie to come to the GWF since the last strange rookie to come to the GWF? You won't think that anymore when you see the high-flying action brought to you courtesy of...VEGEPYGMY!!!* His spectacular ACORN FALLING FAR FROM THE TREE finisher will leave you breathless...to say nothing of the tag finisher he uses when teaming with Myconoid: FINISH YOUR VEGETABLES!
Plus...
You thought a Cleansed, Cyber-Enhanced Ani-Man was intimidating? Wait until you see the Transevolved, gravity-defying powerhouse that is half man, half plant, and half animal! (Yes, we know that's three halves...wait until you see his card art and you'll understand why!) Monolith will be quaking in his boots and burying his enormous head in the sand when he's signed to face the awesome awesomeness of...TOFURKEY!!!
* Yes, Myconoid and Vegepygmy are names used in D&D games going back thirty years, but we all know Tom thought of them first, and that's why he has no problems using them in his works, like D-X and Cerebral Assassins.

Awesome!
You know, it's actually not a half-bad idea to do a plant-based race as a bootleg.
It's funny you mention the 'Cerebral Assassins'... I remember back in the day people used to always claim WWF/E 'stole' from Tom... and it was even mildly credible.. he did stables a bit before the attitude era did.... (I'm talking the DX Vs Corporation era, then toss in the Nation, RTC, the Union, etc.).. funny how few people talk about it the other way around.
We have art that's blatantly Randy Orton and Ray Mysterio, and slightly less blatantly Batista, and then we have the aforementioned Cerebral Assassins.

Ok, I know people have said that there seems to not be enough story / plot / direction with this set...which I agree with. But while I was reading some of the handbook the other day, it became obvious that they allowed the following set-up:
The FDF is outmanned by the RG and on the verge of being driven out, when who should return to help them but Wolf. That would then allow Wolf to be a part of this for a while and then when he is being destroyed by the RG, Monolith makes his return and Wolf and Monolith end the year battling RG.
Or NONE of that will happen....but that is an easy set-up so that 2125 didn't seem like such a holding partern.
I must be honest, I never like following "official" storylines and stuff, but I was talking with my brother the other day about 2125 (yes, we are nerds) and he said the same thing I did b/4 I ever mentioned it to him.
Do I think that will be how they lead into 2126....no, but it would definately make for some cool stroy arcs. Wolf & Monoilith vs. 2 members of the RG would be really easy to book as a top of the fed feud.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Been a long week.

I think Wolf is done... the reception for his return was lukewarm at best, and Tom's said quite a few times he doesn't like to bring guys back. (Though arguably he should sometimes) I think it's pretty clear he wants Monolith as a face, and to be managed by a face Dark Menace... call it hubris What will be interesting is what Monolith's stats will be like we he returns.. power creep has been HUGE the last few sets.. and I almost think the Monolith injury was Tom putting the breaks on it. If that's true, we'll see an downgrade for Endgame, too.

Antimony,
I think you are overstepping yourself here. It is blatantly obvious to anyone that has been with the game as long as you have that several storyline and concepts that Tom used shortly thereafter appeared in real wrestling. Look at the GWF- CPC invasion angle and thenright after came the NWO angle in WCW. Crossfire's in- Ring death was followed the loss of Owen Hart. Teams as mentioned before were Toms brainchild. I would keep going but I am running out of examples.
A vegetable Ani Man would not work, mainly because he's not,you know, part animal. The ANI root of the term 'Ani- Man " means "animal". Plus a wrestling vegetable would be pretty dumb, kinda like a onmipotent being that decides to wrestle or being that is just hands and a head.
And speaking of Monolith I do not see what your problem is with him. Monolith is the greatest wrestler Tom ever created. He is immensely talent and strong with an incredible finisher and is almost impossible to hurt. I hear you and some other guys talk about "power creep" and it makes me sick. TheIr is no power creep in the game. Thantos can hang with any current star. What I see in the natural progression of the game. It is time for a +5 finisher that adds two tokens. It is time for a guy to have a falling uppercut. It is time for THE END OF ALL THINGS. Do you want the game to be stagnant or do you want the game to progress? Blguys like the new Bishop Hell and Thantos represent movi g forward. Wolf came back because it made sense to do so. It was awesome. I all makes sense to me. I guess some people don't get it.
The game is about a futuristic wrestling federation. Odd beings and strange characters will aboud, even if they are all based on the perception of Terrans. You have to use your imagination to play this game; to fully appreciate it. Some people just do not get that.

There are definitely NOT enough giant heads in professional wrestling today... that HAS to be the thing that Vince copies from Tom next I love it when Turk goes into full mock-the-fan-boy mode

Then there's Oracle, who has a 'flying forearm uppercut from the top rope'.. that doesn't make ANY sense at all.. and UPPERcut delivered while falling DOWN (as in jumping off the top) would have no power behind it... you'd be fighting gravity! *sigh* The GWF is not bound by the rules (and myths) of Earth. Coven Black Oracle may be a vampire wrestler but just because vampire wrestler stories/legends on Earth say they can't be in the sun hit an uppercut while falling down, that has NO bearing on this character. He's from Draco Vega. It's real easy to me to grasp that, but it seems like it's hard for others to understand. This fed takes place over 100 years in the future and these characters are from all over the galaxy. I'm sorry, but this is hilarious. That's awesome! I didn't realize Vegans could reverse gravity! STRONG!

Claudio Castagnoli does that move about a hundred times better and from the top rope (sometimes even a springboard version).
I had forgotten what a stiff that DJ Gabriel guy was.

Yup, that looks about as weak as it sounds. It's good that Tom didn't invent it, at least So how's everyone liking 2125 that's playing it? Seems like there's not many people posting current on the boards, but I think that means less than it used to with the current state of GWF fandom.
