Rather than derail the other thread...
Who do you think Tom dumped too quickly?
Here's my opinions:
Iron Mane: He could have easily replaced Wolf as the 'loner anti-hero' while Wolf was playing with the Gladiators, and/or popping around randomly into every major feud... I think at the time either Tom was tired of Ani-Men, or felt the fans were... an opinion that is probably incorrect if you look at the percentage of bootlegs that are Ani-Men.
The Collector: I really liked his gimmick...I think he was like a low-budget transvolver, and would have been awesome as a face feuding with Doomsayer. I know he turned back up in CPC as one of the group of seven, but that wasn't the same.
Quasar: Great character concept, good stats, but never got any story love. He could have been TO-like. He could have been MVP-like. He could have been alot of things. instead, he was just... there... then gone.
Caiman and Hechilles: I know they came about via EC, so they couldn't really stay, since the time had past, but they really had no reason to leave, and were at the top of the GWF when they did so... this is pretty much the biggest thing that annoys me about that set.
Polarity: They were SO important pre-2087 it makes NO sense they never came back. How much more believable would Thantos' face turn have been if Vice and Sin were around? That could have been a MAJOR angle.

Terminus. He had just gotten an upgrade and then left back for Ara. I was sad to see him go.

Yeah, but for the analysis to mean anything, you have to partition off the set of Ani-Man bootlegs made by Jim Steel. Or should I say ANI-MEN BOOTLEGS!!!!

Heh, it's not just his, though... KB has his AWA set (probably the most appropriate use of Curt Ligot's super muscled art).. then there's the various ani-man parodies of real guys that are out there. I think if you did a survey, you'd find more Andromedans than any other planet in the galaxy other than Earth. Even that old Seven Deadly Sins set by some guy had a Ani-Men chick in it

Polarity is a huge one. They were important to the storyline aspect
Dorado Sundown: If you are trying to take over a federation a year and a half isnt long enough.

Yeah, or at least there should have been a better reason for leaving.. money, injury, something.

Amazing Mann. (I know he's elsewhere, but I love the character.)

I'm hoping he turns up in POW at some point.. While I was happy to have him in ACE in that he wasn't gone, it didn't make a huge amount of sense.

Dorado Sundown.
I'm going to have to get the best out of them in such a short time.

There's quite a few EC guys that left suddenly do to the retro-activeness of their release... I plan to fix that with my fed this time 'round

Yeah, when I did my final restart and played all the way through from 2074, I found myself scratching my head when I got to 2086, and suddenly had a bunch of guys who weren't supposed to be there anymore. I think it was the fact that a lot of them left because of the heartbreak of Thantos' actions. But that's what happens when you start at a midpoint of your history, and try to backfill from the beginning forward, instead of going backwards.
My solution was to throw out the 2087 book entirely, by the way. I had the Deimos Rockers (Wind RIders) split up, and one of them (I forget who) left the Fed, while the other teamed with Hyperion (Hechiles) in one of the worst tag teams I ever made. They couldn't win to save their lives.
Sin and Vice turned on Salvation and threw him out of their team. They joined a nasty heel stable led by...Star Warrior. Yep. I had Star Warrior turn into the big heel, playing up his ego from 2085 onward, and then he had a hissy fit when Thantos got all the attention for his injury. Thantos led the heroes, until 2090, when Star Warrior "came home" to the good side, and Thantos refused to work with him.
Ah, good times, good times.
EDIT: Sorry. Totally off-topic.
Actagon left too soon. I'm talking both his year-long "vacation," and his final exit. I also agree with 2 Cold Quasario.
