Bout #1: Jack Swagger vs. Phil Davis - With Larry Sweeney watching at ring-side, Swagger overpowered Davis. Phil got off some offense, but Swagger dominated the vast majority of the bout, taking the win at 10:36 with his Gut-wrench Powerbomb.
Bout #2: Chris Candido (w/ Sunny) vs. Brian Major - Candido looked impressive here, as he is heading into an upcoming TV title bout. Major got in some early offense, but the Triple Threat member was able to come back and turn the tide in his favor. Candido nailed the Blonde Bomb at 8:01 to take the win here this week.
Bout #3: Tyler Black vs. Tiger Jeet Singh - Black never stood a chance to get off any serious offense, as Tiger was ferocious. Singh was unable to score a quick pinfall, so he grabbed his saber and smashed Black in the face. The ref called for the DQ at 4:17.
Bout #4: Shimmering Star Championship Match April Hunter vs. Trinity (c) - Hunter has the distinct height and size advantage, but Trinity seemed to have more fire in her gut this night. The new champion defended her belt at 10:26 after a running bulldog.
Bout #5: "Dr. D" David Schultz vs. Sean Davis - Schultz tore through Davis and finished him off with a piledriver at 3:58.
Bout #6: BJ Whitmer vs. Brett Major - BJ is often thought of as a tag team specialist, but tonight he battles in this singles bout. Brett tried to use his speed to keep BJ off balance, but it was not long lived. BJ took over and dominated. One Exploder '98 later and BJ scored the pinfall at 7:13.
Bout #7: CCW TV Title Match Dr. Sam Sheppard vs. Chris Hero (c) - Sheppard tried to hurt Hero early, using the dirty tricks that he is known for. The usually back-pedaling champ, stepped up and went toe-to-toe with the good doctor. Hero used his Hero's Welcome to take the win and retain his gold at 10:49.
Main Event Bout #8: Shane Douglas vs. The Masked Superstar - The visiting Superstar was looking for a match-up with a top star here in the CCW. As the NIWA has been pushing for more "names" to be traveling and gaining exposure, Superstar and Douglas left it all in the ring. As they went back and forth, Douglas was able to gain an advantage, which he exploited to score the win at 8:09 with his Belly-to-Belly suplex.

[glow=yellow,2,300]Cove Championship Wrestling[/glow] 1/23/2009 Bout #1: CCW TV Title Match Mondo Kleen vs. Chris Hero (c) - Hero's second straight NOTM opponent, this time the large (and crazy) Kleen. Hero was looking good and had the advantage, when Dr. Sam Sheppard attacked Hero. The ref had no choice, but to call for the DQ, as Kleen and Sheppard double-teamed Hero. Claudio Castagnoli and Arik Cannon rushed in to make the save. Bout #2: CCW Heavyweight Championship Bout Adam Pearce (w/ Larry Sweeney) vs. Bryan Danielson (c) - A great back and forth battle here, as both men showed why they are top notch grapplers. Sweeney interjected himself whenever Pearce was in trouble. Danielson was getting furious at this constant interference and complained to the ref. While Danielson argued with the ref, Pearce nailed him with a loaded fist. Austin Aries raced out and nailed Sweeney, which caused the ref to not count the tainted pin attempt by Pearce. Pearce started arguing with the ref, allowing Danielson to get back to his feet. Bryan caught an off guard Pearce with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex for the win at 17:39. This war has just begun. Bout #3: Jack Swagger vs. Shaggy 2 Dope - Swagger dominated once again, this time never letting up on the ICP member and winning at 5:40 with his Gut-wrench Powerbomb. Bout #6: Sara del Rey vs. Mickie Knuckles - These two power-houses showed that they bring a very different style to Shimmering Star than the two ladies who opened the card for the title. Sara had Mickie locked in the Royal Butterfly, when MsChef came into the ring and spit green mist into Sara's eyes. The ref called for the DQ at 8:19, but that didn't stop Knuckles and MsChef. They started beating on Sara, until Cheerleader Melissa made the big save.

The fans reacted with loud boos, as Team 3-D hit the ring. The former champions used this surprise to attack the champs and score a near fall less than a minute in.
