2/3/10: NIWA officials have announced that the upcoming CCW show "Super Saturday" scheduled for 2/6/10 will be replaced with an NIWA Super-Card "Super Saturday Slam Masters". CCW's spokesman voiced concern over why the NIWA would take over their show and about their decision not to use the wrestlers contracted to work the CCW.
"We have done nothing but great business since we returned to start the year. The NIWA seems to have some alternative motive here...but I have to watch what I say," said the CCW's spokesman, who asked to remain anonymous.
The NIWA said they had no comment, but this situation seems to still have legs.

Both ladies are powerhouses and they traded huge moves to open the match. April missed a clothesline, which gave Sara the opening she was waiting for. Sara was able to use her Butterfly Powerslam at 9:23 to win and get the title shot.
Bout #5: Brian Kendricks vs. Bryan Danielson - Danielson wasted no time with Kendricks, as he came at him from the bell. Danielson used several quick suplexes to get Kendricks reeling and used his Cattle Mutilation to win at 3:35.
Bout #6: Shimmering Star Championship Match Daizee Haze vs. Penny Banner (c) - The blonde hair was flying in this one, as Daizee came out guns blazing. Daizee scored several near falls after some high impact, high speed moves. Banner was able to sneak out each time and went under the bottom ropes to clear her head. Daizee followed her, but Penny was able to use the apron as a weapon and turn the match. Penny used her Small Cradle to retain the gold at 9:50.
Bout #7: CCW TV Title Match Harker Dirge vs. Chris Hero (c) - Hero is in the midst of his 3rd run as TV champion and his challengers have not been an easy lot. Tonight was no different, as Dirge was a tough challenger throughout the match. Harker scored a near win with his Dirt Nap, but Hero survived. Hero was able to use his Hero's Welcome at 14:39 to keep his gold.
Bout #8: One Man Gang vs. Exotic Adrian Street - Great action, as Street used his speed to wear down One Man Gang. Street was not able to pin Gang, which frustrated him. Street tried to muscle Gang around, but that was not happening. Gang started using his weight to pound down the smaller Street. Gang missed his 747, but Street was not able to roll him over. Gang worked back to his feet, as Street rushed at him. Gang caught Street and nailed him with a scoop body slam at 9:50 to win.
Main Event Bout #9: CCW Heavyweight Championship Match Rob van Dam vs. Adam Pearce (c) (w/ Larry Sweeney) - RVD knew that he had to stay away from Pearce's power, as he used hard kicks to sting the legs of the big champion. Pearce caught hold of RVD and pounded on him. Pearce used his strap to choke RVD and when the ref called him on it, Sweeney was able to nail RVD with a hard shot. Pearce hurled RVD across the ring. Pearce charged RVD, but Rob was able to duck under the clothesline and caught him with a spin kick. RVD dropkicked the knee out of Pearce and caught him with another stiff kick. Sweeney got up on the apron and started screaming at the ref. RVD sprinted across the ring and nailed Sweeney with a huge kick. RVD nailed the rolling thunder on Pearce and he leaped to the top rope. RVD nailed his 5-Star Frog splash. The ref slides in and starts to count. 1.....2.....WHAM! Sweeney got in the ring and nailed RVD with a huge chair shot. The ref called for the bell and the fans exploded, thinking that RVD had won the belt. The ref took the belt and handed it back to Pearce, as he raised RVD's hand for the DQ victory at 18:19.

News Release:
NIWA to oust CCW after March to Glory?
Rumors have been flying about the possible split between the National Indy Wrestling Alliance and Cove Championship Wrestling. This split would impact CCW's schedule, as they have NIWA International Triple Crown bouts already booked. Also, Shimmering Star, who is also a member of the NIWA, would be pressured to not be associated with CCW any longer. Shimmering Star, long felt to be the CCW's sister company, has used CCW exclusively to promote their women and product. All of these split rumors come on the heels of Shark Valley Championship Wrestling closing it's doors a few months back, due to financial issues. Many insiders feel that some of these "financial issues" were caused, directly or not, by the NIWA. Talent restrictions and referee "shortages" plagued SVCW short, but successful run. While CCW and SVCW officials kept many of these issues quiet, some leaks have been filtering out in the recent days and weeks.
The big question is why the NIWA would want to break ties with it's most successful wrestling company to date? CCW, while still in search of it's first major TV deal, has had strong showing on PPV and amazing DVD sale numbers. While CCW officials are exploring other avenues, which include weekly pod-cast downloads and streaming live events, the NIWA seems to want only mainstream exposure a TV contract can provide. The main issue with that desired contract, is that the NIWA has not help facilitate this deal.
What will happen, no one is sure yet. Only time will tell.

March To Glory Tour: Stop #4
Bout #1: CCW TV Title Match Exotic Adrian Street vs. Chris Hero (c) - Hero came out guns-a-blazing to open the card, as he never let Street get off any offense. Hero retained his title at 1:29 with a Cravate Buster.
Bout #2: One Man Gang vs. Hillbilly Jim - Gang was not able to out-muscle Jim, but used a quick shot to the bread basket to double him over. Gang was able to push the action and use his 747 to win at 5:32.
Bout #3: NIWA International Triple Crown Diamond Dallas Page vs. Giant Baba (c) - In this rematch from January, the fans were looking forward to seeing these two tie-up again. Baba was leery of the Diamond Cutter through out the match, as DDP can nail it out of nowhere. DDP caught him with the Diamond Cutter, but Baba was able to get under the bottom rope to recuperate. Baba's Giant Chop was not enough to down DDP, but a piledriver was at the 33:53 mark. The fans were very appreciative of the effort from both NIWA stars.
Bout #4: The Love Brothers vs. Justin Credible & Chris Candido - The former ECW stars teamed up tonight, as they locked horns with the Love Brothers. Reginald and Hartford just came off a series of serious matches with Bryan Danielson and Brent Alright. They looked sluggish to start, which allowed Justin and Chris to score some fast offense. Chris scored a near fall on Hartford, but Reginald stomped the back of the former Bodydonna's head, which slammed his head down and busting his nose. Reginald was able to score the pinfall on Candido after a Double Slam at 26:47.
Co-Main Event Bout #5: Bryan Danielson vs. Claudio Castagnoli - These two men get into the ring again, following their match-up in the finals of the SOTF. Both men looked outstanding through out the match, as both used their knowledge of counter wrestling and fundamental skills to keep each other on their toes. Suplexes and submission holds let to several near falls and submissions, but it wasn't until Claudio nailed his Ricola Bomb at 24:00 to take the win.
Co-Main Event Bout #6: Barbed Wire Cage Match Tyler Black & Drake Younger vs. Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs & Brodie Lee) - Once the cage door was locked, these 4 men went to war. All four men were bleeding before long, as they each used the cage as a weapon. Lee was pounding on Black, as Jacobs was working on Drake. Jacobs pulled handcuffs out of his tights and cuffed Drake to the ropes. He then went after Black, but Tyler back kicked him in the groin. Jacobs stumbled backwards into a hard kick by Drake. Younger was able to lock a modified single-arm choke on Jacobs. Lee smashed Black into the cage and charged at Drake. He started to stomp on Drake, as he released Jacobs. Black got to his feet and grabbed Jimmy. He hoisted him up and delivered a pitching powerbomb on Jacobs into the back of Lee. Lee's head struck the turnbuckle hard, as Jacobs hit the mat and grabbed his head. As Lee went down, Black raced to the top and nailed his Phoenix Splash on Lee for the pin at 12:36. As Black was scoring the pin, Timber made his return to CCW, as he rushed the cage with bolt cutters. He cut the lock and came into the ring. He attacked Black from behind, as the ref could do nothing but bail-out. Lee is able to get to his knees, as Jacobs and Timber pound the bloody Black. Jacobs and Lee use Jimmy's spike to really open up the head of the former AOTF member. Timber, wearing a spacial glove, yanks down some barbed wire and started to pound on his former stable-mate, Younger. Nigel McGuinness raced to the ring with a fire extinguisher. He unloads it all on the attackers, who are forced to bail out of the ring. Nigel clips the back of Timber's head, as he tried to catch his breath from the fumes. The night ends, as a bloody Drake and Tyler stand with Nigel, as the AOTF seem pleased with themselves, even though they lost the match.
