I never really 'got' the excitment over this film...aside from Dustin Hoffman's performance. I'm guessing it was the kind of movie that was shocking for the time it was released? The xxx rating is funny because you can see a lot worse on cable these days It was a bit shocking...but this was a time where shocking movies were released almost weekly. From Valley of the Dolls to Deep Throat. It was an era where you almost had to be shocking to get noticed.

I think if they would have elaborated a little on those flash back scenes and gave some more back round on Voight's Character it would have been a much better movie. It seemed to me there was a big piece of the story left out

That might account for the unanswered questions.

A great western about a gang of outlaws hanging on to the ways of life in the old west during the early 1900's. I really like many of the cast members in The Wild Bunch, but I just didn't like it for some reason... I decided to watch this again both with and without the commentary from Tobe Hooper, Daniel Pearl and Gunnar Hansen and this is a great film and better then the remake. The only thing that I did like about the remake is R.Lee Ermey...

May is a really good movie. A lot of people have never seen it, but it is well worth the time.

The Wild Bunch is a classic and a really great Western.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is truly a horror classic and a "must see" for anyone either trying to get someone into horror or if they are getting into it themselves. It has a rep for being so "super bloody" and "gross"...but there is so little blood in the movie it's not even funny some of the exaggerations.

On an semi-related note, the A-Team has an episode called 'Bad Day at Black Rock'... does the movie have anything to do with Bikers?
Just wondering if it was an homage...

This is a movie that only ever seems to be on around 2 AM. The plot is simple an old truck is chasing Dennis Weaver ( a salesman) through the desert trying to run him off the road. The reason is never explained and the identity of the truck driver is never revealed. This movie has pretty interesting chase scenes and camera work. it's also one of Steven Speilberg's first films. Worth watching if you're up late

Just watched Ants (1977). I love '70's nature run amok movies. This one will really make your skin crawl.
