This is a re-post from the "Un"Official Board
Since this is the start of a new board, I'm going to start posting my Early Classics results
Having played since 1989, I was all the way up to 2106 in my fed (around a few years ago), but the sway of Legends was too strong and I pretty much shelved COTG to concentrate on Legends.
I began hearing the talk about Early Classics and this really peaked my interest back into the GWF. I mean, did I really want one of the biggest Legends of all time, Omega, to have a winning pct. of .350!!?? And what about being able to play Morpheus...something we didn't get to do in the original game
So I decided, when time permitted, to restart my fed and begin with Early Classics to fill in the gaps. The first year of playing, I was really feeling out the characters since, while Mike did a good job of writing, his space was limited. So while we knew certain backstories like Sam-Torpor or the Guardians-Dorado Sundown, really playing the cards gave me a feel for the newcomers
So the first year, it was basically guys who made their way from the POW to the newly formed GWF, feeling each other out and begin building towards rivalries toward the future.
When I get into Year 3, that's when it really started to get fun, along with Year 4, where I'm at now (I was never a Silvar fan, but he's really been fun, making him into a Santino, from the WWE, character).
So thanks to Mike and co for Early Classics...here are some of the results from Year 1 & 2:
EC 1: Early Sept
Omega & Morpheus came out to a mammoth ovation at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena as fans were salivating at the prospect of professional wrestling coming back after a nearly 20 year absence.
Omega explained to the crowd what their goal was in forming the GWF: To provide an outlet to get out your aggression with the hope that, in re-instating wrestling, this would be the perfect outlet. Omega explained, unlike the old days of pro wrestling, this isn’t about “good guys” and “bad guys”, only wrestlers representing their home planets.
Morpheus added that while what Omega said was true, he hopes it doesn’t deter from the wrestlers aggression in the ring as they want to give the fans their entire monies worth, especially since many have waiting this long for pro wrestling to return.
1) Defiance beat Cross Currents by DQ when the ref DQ the watery duo for not leaving the ring during the mandatory five count on the double team. 2) KO Keller pinned Ricken Prince following a stomp on chest 3) Commander Sam pinned Torpor after the STAR SPANGLED BANNER 4) Torin Caelum beat Santon with CAELUM’S GRIP 5) The Guardians beat Dorado Sundown by DQ
EC 2: Mid Sept 74 GWF TITLE TOURNAMENT Opening Round—Omega pinned Torpor after the TOMAHAWK THRUST…KO Keller pinned Blood following the TEN COUNT…Jammer beat Screw by DQ…Moonstrike pinned Santon after the PALADIN DROP…Morpheus pinned Solar Flare when Flare missed a turnbuckle charge…Bullwhip beat Ricken Prince by DQ…Blacklash pinned Commander Sam following a top rope ax handle…Torin Caelum beat Trotarus with CAELUM’S GRIP
Quarterfinal Round—KO Keller pinned Omega after the TEN COUNT…Jammer beat Moonstrike with BAD KNIGHT…Morpheus pinned Bullwhip with TRIP TO HADES…Torin Caelum beat Blacklash with CAELUM’S GRIP
Seminal Round—KO Keller pinned Jammer following the TEN COUNT….Morpheus pinned Torin Caelum with the TRIP TO HADES
Final Round—KO Keller beat Morpheus by countout
EC 3: Early Oct GWF Tag Title Tournament Opening Round—The Guardians beat KO Keller & Commander Sam when Omega pinned Sam after a flying leg drop…Defiance beat Paladin Power when Blood pinned Moonstrike with SCAR TISSUE…Dorado Sundown beat Crosscurrents when Bullwhip pinned Vortex following RUSTLER’S STAMPEDE…Torin Caelum & Ricken Prince beat The Mensans when Cordsar submitted to CAELUMS GRIP
Semifinal Round—The Guardians beat Defiance when Morpheus pinned Blood with TRIP TO HADES…Dorado Sundown beat Torin Caelum & Ricken Prince when Blacklash pinned Prince after SUNDOWN
Final Round—The Guardians beat Dorado Sundown when Morpheus pinned Bullwhip with TRIP TO HADES
EC 4: Mid Oct GWF Champ KO Keller came out to address the crowd on becoming the first GWF Champ. Torin Caelum came out to congratulate his friend, but made a challenge, which Keller gladly accepted as the two shook hands in the middle of the ring
1) Crosscurrents beat The Mensans when Thetis pinned Trotarus following WATERY GRAVE
2) Commander Sam pinned Torpor after the STAR SPANGLED BANNER After the match, Torpor grabbed Sam’s US Flag and choked him out with it. After recovering, Sam vowed revenge against the dastardly star from Cygnus
3) Paladin Power beat Defiance when Moonstrike pinned Jammer with a Moonsault
4) Screw pinned Santon with a small package
5) GWF Tag Champs The Guardians beat Dorado Sundown when Morpheus pinned Blacklash with TRIP TO HADES Blacklash and Bullwhip challenged them to singles matches, which Morpheus cockily replied they’ve beaten them three straight in tag matches, what makes them think they can win a singles match

I figured there were several jump on points (Early Classics, 2087, 2119 & 2125), so I thought to start Early Classics in case Tom got tired of COTG, I'd have plenty of time to catch up

KO Keller as champ is solid. He has a great EC card. He hasn't been able to one up Caelum in my fed but he is having a huge run as a tag team with Sam, holding the GWF titles twice. Glad to see he is doing well here.

Keller is my favorite EC guy... I just things he's the perfect symbol of the 'wild west' days of the early GWF.

EC 9: Early Jan 75
- Dorado Sundown came out said since The Guardians were no where to be found tonight, they are going to be running the show. This brought out Commander Sam and Torin Caelum to tell Dorado Sundown there is no one that is going to be running the show while they are here.
Dorado Sundown laughed off Sam and Caleum’s threat and said if they are asking for a match, they’ve got it.

6) Solar Flare won a 16 man battle royal to earn a GWF Title shot
EC 10: Mid Jan 75 - KO Keller asked Solar Flare to come out. Keller said he’s a damn fine young talent, but he has to know, this GWF Title means everything to him and if the time is right, he’s going to lay the TEN COUNT on him

3) Ricken Prince beat Screw by DQ
4) Crosscurrents battled Dorado Sundown to a double DQ

EC 11: early Feb 75
- Torin Caelum asked KO Keller for a title shot because, since the Guardians are out, they can, no doubt, give the fans their moneys worth. Keller agreed and accepted Caelum’s challenge, but reminded him while they may be friends outside of the ring, inside is business and a TEN COUNT could be right around the corner. Caelum answered CAELUM’S GRIP could be in store for Keller as well. The two shook hands and left the ring
1) Commander Sam beat Ricken Prince by DQ
2) Paladin Power beat The Mensans by DQ

It was announced Caelum suffered a broken jaw from the TEN COUNT. Torin Caelum injured 6
EC 12: Mid Feb 75 GWF Champ KO Keller came out to open the program and stated throughout the year, one man has yet to receive a GWF Title shot that most definitely should and that man is one of the GWF founders
– Omega. Omega came out and was thankful and embraced Keller’s competitive spirit reasoning that this is why he and Morpheus formed the GWF.
1) Ricken Prince pinned Torpor following BOW TO THE PRINCE
