Yeah, New Japan got boring. Sort of rebooting the fed from the beginning, but instead of an AAA styled promotion, more of a CMLL, ras de lona kind of fed.

Monterrey lineup, other news:
1/3/11; Arena Monterrey For those just tuning in.. Bold = Rudo/Heel Italic = Tecnico/Babyface Plain text = Tecnirudo/Tweener
1.) Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid vs. Ozz, Espiritu, Escoria 2.) Billy Boy & Daffney vs. Gran Apache & Mari Apache 3.) El Hijo del Santo, Octagon, Blue Panther vs. Negro Casas, Felino, and Heavy Metal 4.) Mistico & La Sombra vs. El Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Perro Aguayo 5.) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver Cain vs. Electroshock & Chessman
So this is the first lineup for the new Lucha Libre International. It's a pretty solid one, I've gotta say, but there are some things that stnad out, namely in the third match. That entire team isn't even part of the roster, so either this is a one-time deal, or LLI hasn't announced their entire roster. I guess we'll know after the show.
Opener is a good Air Force vs. La Secta match. Not sure where it'll go, if it'll even lead to something with their trios title match, whenever it happens.
Mixed tag match is your standard mixed tag match, if it were any other female I'd guess that this is going to be good, but since it's Daffney, I have no expectations.
Semifinal is a good match, even if old man Perro can't bring it like he used to, it should at the very least be fun to see Perrito square off against his old pal Mistico.
Main event is something I expected, though it does omit Zorro from the card, and I figured that he'd be in the main event of the show in Monterrey. He hasn't been announced for Arena Mexico yet, or Arena Puebla. Maybe he's not really part of the roster?
Other news: - According to RecordLuchas, Mickie James will be working the shows on 1/12 at Arena Mexico. Funny she's announced, but several members of their own roster aren't.
- Dr. Wagner Jr. will be off the February shows due to his commitments to New Japan Pro Wrestling, he is their current IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship. Scheduling conflicts may arise for Aerostar, Abismo Negro, Psicosis, and Electroshock.
- Allstate Arena has announced that LuchaMania tickets go on sale mid-March. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company is expecting 60% of the seats to be full. I'm not sure they'll get that.
- Ricky Banderas turned down working for the promotion to focus on wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling. I figured some people who followed LLUSA/LLI would want to know why he's not on the roster. Well, that's why.
- The Mega Heavyweight Championship will be decided on the evening show at Arena Mexico on 1/12. No match announced.

1/3/11; Arena Monterrey
1.) Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid b. Ozz, Espiritu, Escoria 2.) Gran Apache & Mari Apache b. Billy Boy & Daffney 3.) El Hijo del Santo, Octagon, Blue Panther b. Negro Casas, Felino, and Heavy Metal 4.) Mistico & La Sombra b. El Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Perro Aguayo 5.) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver Cain DQ Electroshock & Chessman
Essentially, this is how I figured the show would go. Arena was about 70% full, which is higher than expected.
Aerostar got the win over Ozz in the opener. Aerostar and Wagner are facing each other on tomorrow's NJPW show. Silver Cain, Negro Casas, Felino, Abismo Negro, Psicosis, and Electroshock are appearing on that show in a Lucha Expose match.
Mari pinned Daffney with the brainbustingest of all brainbusters, and proclaimed herself as the luchadora to beat in the promotion. Not sure what anyone thought of this, nobody came out to object. Then again, looking at Mari, would you?
Santo got Felino to win the other trios match. I guess they're staying around, because Santo said something about becoming trios champions, but then again, Santo's not exactly known for being honest all the time.
Mistico beat Perrito in the semifinal with La Mistica. Great match, pretty lengthy. Mistico said he wants Perro's hair after the match.
Electroshock fouled Wagner in the main event. Was an alright match, a bit too entertainment esque for the crowd in Monterrey. After the match, Jushin Liger attacked Wagner, and said that he would become the first Universal Champion on January 12th, so I guess that's the new name for the Heavyweight Title.
Other relevant happenings, 1/12 Lineups!:
1/12/11; Arena Mexico (matinee) 1.) Felino vs. Blue Panther [lightning] 2.) Heavy Metal vs. Octagon [lightning] 3.) Love Machine & Eddy Guerrero vs. ? [/color] & ?[/color] 4.) Rey Misterio Jr. vs. Konnan5.) Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid vs. Abismo Negro, Psicosis, Mr. Niebla6.) Dr. Wagner Jr, Silver Cain, La Sombra, Mistico vs. Jushin Liger, Electroshock, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Chessman1/12/11; Arena Mexico (evening event):1.) Negro Casas vs. El Hijo del Santo [lightning] 2.) Mickie James & Daffney vs. Fabi Apache & Mari Apache3.) Zorro vs. ?[/color] 4.) Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid vs. Abismo Negro, Psicosis, Mr. Niebla5.) Love Machine & Eddy Guerrero vs. Rey Misterio Jr. & Juventud Guerrera6.) Negro Casas, Felino, Heavy Metal vs. El Hijo del Santo, Octagon, Blue Panther [winner of lightning match designates captains] 7.) Dr. Wagner Jr. vs. Jushin Liger, Silver Cain, Electroshock, Chessman, Mistico, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, La Sombra, Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr. [cage, LLI UNIVERSAL] I'll post my thoughts on these two shows when the day comes for them. I'm sure I'll have a lot to say. [/center][/font]

Arena Mexico Results (Champion crowned, big angle at the end of the show):
No results from Arena Puebla except that they packed 70% of the arena and that Wagner won the main event.
1/12/11; Arena Mexico (matinee) 1.) Felino b. Blue Panther [lightning] 2.) Octagon b. Heavy Metal [lightning] 3.) Love Machine & Eddy Guerrero b. Mascara Sagrada & Atlantis 4.) Rey Misterio Jr. DQ Konnan 5.) Abismo Negro, Psicosis, Mr. Niebla b. Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid 6.) Jushin Liger, Electroshock, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Chessman b. Dr. Wagner Jr, Silver Kain, La Sombra, Mistico
Opening match went ten seconds shy of the time limit, and was stopped when Blue's knee got injured by Felino. A pretty good match.
Octagon beat Heavy Metal with La Escalera in another good match. Octagon promised to beat La Peste Negra in the evening show.
Mascara Sagrada and Atlantis were the mystery opponents. Kind of an odd pairing. Love Machine fouled Sagrada to win the first fall. Segunda was also won by the rudos when Love Machine used the Frog Splash on Atlantis.
Konnan fouled Rey in front of Pepe Casas and got fouled. A pretty bad match, all things considered.
Semifinal was all kinds of clustered. Match went two falls straight for the rudos with Abismo pinning Aerostar to win both falls. I know, you're shocked.
Main event wasn't as rudo dominated as the previous matches. Electroshock got the first sall over Sombra after Mistico and Silver Kain were already out. Wagner pinned Liger directly in the second fall. Third fall saw Wagner unmasked and rolled up by Liger. Pretty obvious where this is going.
1/12/11; Arena Mexico (evening event): 1.) Negro Casas b. El Hijo del Santo [lightning] 2.) Fabi Apache & Mari Apache b. Mickie James & Daffney 3.) Atlantis b. Zorro 4.) Super Fly, Aerostar, Laredo Kid b. Abismo Negro, Psicosis, Mr. Niebla 5.) Rey Misterio Jr. & Juventud Guerrera b. Love Machine & Eddy Guerrero 6.) Negro Casas, Felino, Heavy Metal b. El Hijo del Santo, Octagon, Blue Panther [winner of lightning match designates captains] 7.) Silver Kain b. Dr. Wagner Jr., Jushin Liger, Electroshock, Chessman, Mistico, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo, La Sombra, Dos Caras Jr. [cage, LLI UNIVERSAL]
Santo fell victim to Felino's distraction and then La Casita. Casas was just as over as Santo here, which is pretty odd.
Women's match was good. James got the first fall with the Tornado DDT. Fabi proceeded to win the next two falls with the Dragon Suplex.
Atlantis is the surprise opponent the second time. Much better match than the one earlier in the day. Zorro had the first fall, Atlantis got the next two with the Atlantida Backbreaker Rack.
Air Force beat the Vipers in the evening card. Very long match, almost 20:00. Aerostar pinned Abismo in the third fall to win the match and to get revenge from the earlier match.
Rey and Juvi beat La Pareja del Terror in another really good match. Second longest of the night at around 26:00. Rey got the first fall with the Misteriorana, Love Machine got the second with the Frog Splash, and Juvi got the third fall with the 450 Splash. After the match, Love Machine attacked the tecnicos.
Peste Negra won two falls straight, as they chose Blue Panther as the captain and proceeded to work on the injured leg from earlier in the day. An alright match. Peste Negra proclaimed themselves the uncrowned Trios champions.
Main event was a plain cage match with the first guy to escape becoming the champion. Really long match, around 30:00. Silver Kain won.
As Silver was celebrating with his championship, El Mesias, Cibernetico, Joe Lider, Nicho "el milonario", Chris Hero (awaiting confirmation on that), and a few others attacked him, threw him back in the cage, and hit their big moves. At this point, everyone involved in the match tried to jump the group of guys, but also were taken down. Perrito bladed good, and I've heard that Mistico bled through his mask.
Mesias got on the mic and trashed LLI, saying that the guys standing in the ring represented Lucha Libre, not the frauds in the cage match. Mesias announced that he and his group are named The Militia (La Milicia). Lights went out, when they came back on, Silver Kain was laying face down, maskless, in a pool of blood atop the Universal title. No cage (was raised while the lights were out), no Militia.
Now, assuming they run with this, this could easily go to their next big Arena Mexico show in March, even beyond. Mesias is a good leader for the group. He's a good wrestler and can cut a good promo. The problem here, though, is his supporting cast isn't the best. It'll be interesting to get the rest of the names of the guys (fans there who were smart to US Indy wrestling insisted that Chris Hero was one of the guys and that the two others were from Chikara.)
No lineups for the US Tour yet. Not to worry, they likely won't have cards for them until the day of the show.

US Tour Cards:
The cards for the upcoming US Tour were revealed today. The most noteworthy thing is the extreme lack of guys on the Reunion Arena show, since several of them will either be in Japan, or en route to Japan by that date.
ARCO Arena/LA Sports Arena shows have the same card. I'm not sure which one is being taped for TV, but I know one of them is. It features the first Militia vs. LLI match, Ultimo Dragon, Guerrero and Love Machine vs. Misterio and Juventud, it's obvious they want this tour to do well.
The Orleans Hotel show has a lot of similar matches to the CA shows, but there's a Mixed Tag title match on that show, which is funny considering that's the first anyone's heard about them having a mixed tag division. I guess we also have confirmation of Hero as part of The Militia now, too.
Reunion Arena show is damaged by the fact they're missing the following guys: Dr. Wagner Jr, Abismo Negro, Psicosis, Aerostar, Ultimo Dragon, Electroshock, and Chris Hero. The main event is a strong enough draw on paper, but maybe it should have been held off, at least until a TV taping.
1/18/11; ARCO Arena 1.) Abismo Negro vs. Aerostar [lightning] 2.) Dos Caras Jr. & Rain vs. Gran y Mari Apache 3.) Octagon, El Hijo del Santo, Blue Panther vs. Jushin Liger, Chessman, Electroshock 4.)
