No. the package deal never, or at least not in a while, saved money. It's been the same total if you put the items in the cart seperately. It is the same price as Trios was for two less cards. So it's kinda weird to call it a "package deal" unless you want to spend a few less seconds in the online store.

Nothing wrong with being greedy and wanting as many cards as we can get. It's still a good price just not sure I go along with production costs as the reason for the cutback to 10 in a set.

I agree Ty on wanting as many cards as possible... This is why I have in the past and still think Filsinger will one day not make cards and go pdf or online only with them falling on saying production costs hurts the prices of the sets. It could be a smart plan that FG purchased a pro printer and did the cards them self, then again it is what it is...

Only a thought here, but after going all color for GWF then saying production costs is why it's an iffy reason. But, I could see him deciding to spend the money to get all the GWF in color so he can keep doing the GWF in color from now on, and sure very reasonable to believe costs have gone up. See if the number of GWF cards in a set goes down too.

As far as pdfs, there hasn't been that many released so far. Also reasonable to think he's reluctant to do a lot in that format with the ease of someone giving it out afterwards.

I Do graphics and can easily make a card in a set. If someone is willing to share a .PDF, they can easily scan the card drawing and send the stats to someone.

Thats true, the color issue never dawned on me and I have a feeling color is it and the cost of color I guess can be a issue, I guess in the end we take what they shell out...

The new color 10-card GWF set is six dollars more expensive than the black and white 10-card LOW set. GWF has been ten cards per set for $13 for a while, LOW had held at 12 until now. Something had to give, I suppose, so I won't hold that against FG.
I will cop to a little frustration over the "package deals". Notice that there is NO option to just purchase the latest set by it's self; you have to get the package or nothing. It was the same way with the last set until a few months ago and It's still that way for Legends Of The Future and that came out in July. That makes the selection of special edition cards more important. You may want to skewer me, but I think getting Super Crazy added as an extra card takes the hurt out of having to pay the extra money for the extra cards since it's at least one I would want. Mr. X doesn't interest me and I didn't really want a referee card for LOTF (even though I'm sure he's a good guy and all, I just don't need a Chikara referee since I don't play a Chikara fed).

Haven't bought the latest set(Magnum, Gordy) and don't remember on the previous ones, but not sure I'm for not being able to buy a single set without the LE

The whole LE/SE stuff is kinda silly IMO... it's not like any card ever runs out.. you can still get all the LEs since the beginning, for both the GWF and Legends.
Back when they first started them for the GWF, they were 'non-essential', new art and such... that made a LITTLE sense... now it's just a way for FG to get more money per set without people complaining the price is higher.
And don't get me started on the 'package deal' thing... that's borderline fraudulent, IMO.. it's not a package deal if it's simply a collection of thing you can buy for the same cost separately... a package deal implies either some sort of extra material, or a discounted price.
Just another example that Tom is either a) all about the money and is purposely being misleading of b) has no business acumen whatsoever.
(I think 'A' myself)

I talked with a person who likes the game but thinks FG has been misleading from day one calling it a card game since it's much more as a dice game and not a true card game like Magic and the like. I have no issue with calling it a card game, but the misleading is pretty clear and all the secret crap is old too...

To each their own, but it's more of a "card AND dice" game...IMO
