His team get an automatic rematch under the NWA championship regulations. The second time around, they won't be escaping via disqualification. The second time, the Kangaroos will become the NEW NWA World Tag Team Champions.
Ted Dibiase is out for an interview. His dad Iron Mike Dibiase has decided to take some time off after the last year of title defenses and championship stress. Afa Jr. reverses an irish whip and then Bill Dundee ducks a clothesline. Dundee comes off the ropes with a flying forearm. Afa Jr. bails out of the ring.
Angle Developments:
B. Brian Blair and Jim Brunzell are backstage. Holding the NWA United States Tag Team Titles for such a short time was a bitter disappointment. But Rob Van Dam and Sabu haven't heard the last of the Killer Bees. There will be a rematch and they'll hold those belts again.
Jimmy Hart and NWA World Television Champion the Mountie are backstage. The Mountie wishes that the NWA would give him some honorable and upstanding men as challengers for this belt. Angle Developments:
NWA Commissioner Whipper Billy Watson has an announcement. Bobo Brazil will face Harley Race at Halloween Havoc to determine the No. 1 Contender for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
NWA World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are out for an interview. Sullivan is tired of hearing Red Berry and the Kangaroos whine about the Great American Bash. You have to pin the champions or make them submit to win the titles. The fact of the matter is, the belts are rightfully on their waist and the Kangaroos are going to just have to try harder next time. Williams interjects that the Kangaroos should give up the title shot while they still can. They won't be quite so gentle the second time around.

Bill Alphonso and the NWA United States Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu are backstage. Alphonso says his team will gladly put the belts on the line against the Killer Bees a second time. It would be a pleasure to knock them off the contenders list once and for all.

Angle Developments:
Kevin Sullivan is backstage. He's glad that Sabu is taking him so seriously. He plans to drench the arena in Sabu's blood and wear it like war paint. Sabu is going to have a very short lived reign as the ECW Heavyweight Champion. He's just outclassed in this situation.
Tammy Lynn Sytch is backstage. She has a contract for a rematch for the ECW Tag Team Titles against the New Zealand Sheepherders. Her team losing the belts was a grave injustice that she wants to see corrected. Next week, it's rematch time.

NWA World Championship Wrestling #23: 9/8/2012
taped from Atlanta, GA
George Hackenschmidt d. Doug Vines w/ the Russian Bear Hug Hamilton Wrecking Crew d. Freezer Thompson and Keith Eric w/ the Flying Knee Drop Antonino Rocca d. Charlie FUlton w/ the Argentinian Backbreaker Iron Sheik d. Kenny Jay w/ the Camel Clutch Killer Bees d. Tony Russo and Joe Cazana w/ the Bee Sting Masked Superstars d. Mike Simone and Stoney Burke w/ the Spinning Neckbreaker Bruiser Brody d. Vernon Deaton w/ the Jumping Knee Drop Mil Mascaras d. Randy Barber w/ the Crossbody Attack Buddy Rogers d. Koko B. Ware w/ a pin using ropes*1
Main Event: Road Warriors d. the Mongols by DQ*2
Notes:
*1 - Koko B. Ware argues with the referee after the decision. He motions that Buddy Rogers used the ropes to pin him while Rogers struts in the ring. Koko dropkicks Rogers out of the ring as a result. Rogers is not amused and storms around the ring slapping the apron while Koko dares him to get back into the ring. Rogers ultimately declines.
*2 - Bepo Mongol drew the disqualification for smashing a wooden chair over the head of Animal. While Hawk and Bolo brawl on the outside, Bepo repeatedly stabs Animal right in the face with a jagged piece of the wooden chair. Referees rush out and pull Bepo off of Animal who's now a bloody mess. Paramedics rush to the ring and the show fades to black with Animal being taken out on a stretcher.
Angle Developments:
Johnny Valentine is out for an interview. He applauds Lou Thesz for how long he's held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. But he reminds Thesz that he hasn't had to defend the title against an opponent the caliber of Johnny Valentine. It's been a historically great reign but he's the man that's going to bring it all to a crashing halt at Halloween Havoc.
The cameramen catch up to a brawl between the Fabulous Kangaroos and the NWA World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams that has broken out backstage. Costello and Williams are duking it out while Sullivan rams Heffernan into a table repeatedly. Security and NWA officials rush the scene and try to subdue both teams. It's absolute madness until someone hits the camera by mistake. Nothing but static.
Bobo Brazil is out for an interview. He talks about the accomplishments of Harley Race in the world of professional wrestling. They've both been in the game for a really long time and they know all of the tricks of the trade. Race fired the first shot last week and that's okay. Race can fire as many shots as he wants because a simple fact remains. At Halloween Havoc, he's going to be the man getting his arm raised in victory. He's going to be the man to get a shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. He's been the champion, he was the first champion... ever. He knows what it takes to wear the 10 lbs. of gold around his waist. At Halloween Havoc, Harley Race doesn't stand a chance.
Bill Apter has NWA United States Champion the Destroyer as his guest on the Hot Seat this week. Apter asks the Destroyer about Diamond Dallas Page as an opponent. What are his strengths and weaknesses and how does he match up with the champ. The Destroyer mentions that DDP can hit that Diamond Cutter move from anywhere and no one gets up after that move. That's the biggest danger to wrestling DDP. He's not a great technical wrestler, he's not especially strong or fast. He just has that one move that he's an absolute master of. If he can avoid the Diamond Cutter, he'll be okay.
Bobby Heenan and Curt Hennig are backstage. Hennig is upset that all of the championship slots are taken up at Halloween Havoc. He beat S.D. Jones in convincing fashion at the Great American Bash and he feels that he should be in line for a shot at a championship. Heenan interrupts and tells Hennig that this is a good thing. He can let the champions get beat up a little more, take his pick and then swoop in and steal a championship in November or December. Hennig slaps Heenan on the back and says he truly is the Brain.
Next Week:
George Hackenschmidt takes on Antonino Rocca in the main event...
Midnight Express face off with Billy Lyons and Dewey Robertson in tag team action...
also in action will be NWA World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Fabulous Kangaroos, Bobo Brazil, NWA United States Champion the Destroyer, Ivan Koloff, Diamond Dallas Page, Frank Gotch and Freddie Blassie.

Main Event: Ted Dibiase d. Bob Emery w/ the Loaded Glove*1
Notes:
*1 - The Mountie blindsides Ted Dibiase with a zap from the Shock Stick after the match. The Mountie handcuffs Dibiase to the ring rope and proceeds to put the boots to Dibiase. Dibiase tries to fight back but the Mountie easily avoids the attacks. The Mountie repeatedly zaps Dibiase with the Shock Stick as the show fades to black
Angle Developments:
A vintage plays of various landmarks in Switzerland. Claudio Castagnoli appears on the screen. He greets the NWA fans and says that he will be bringing a much more European flavor to the NWA in a few weeks.
Injury Update: Road Warrior Animal suffered some damage to the eyes after the attack from Bepo Mongol yesterday. He's going to be out of action for a couple of months. Road Warrior Hawk says that vengeance won't wait a few months. He's going to try going it alone in singles competition while Animal is out. He might even try to win the TV Title down the road.
The Killer Bees are backstage. They've made a career out of never saying die. Rob Van Dam and Sabu aren't going to have an easy time of things at Halloween Havoc. They don't plan on letting a championship opportunity slip through their fingers.

Kevin Sullivan comes down to the ring and grabs the ring announcer's mic. He talks about how he and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams ended a year plus title reign by the Road Warriors earlier this year. He's been the man at the highest level of this sport. He doesn't see how Sabu has a chance. Suddenly Sabu's music hits and Bill Alphonso leads the ECW Heavyweight Champion down to the ring. Alphonso has his own mic and tells Sullivan that Sabu is the main man in ECW right now. He talks about how people thought Dan Severn was unstoppable until he ran into Sabu. Alphonso pokes Sullivan in the chest a few times and Sullivan grabs Alphonso's hand. Sabu attacks and the brawl is on. Sullivan and Sabu brawl all over the building. Rob Van Dam comes out to try and break things up but gets blindsided by "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. They begin to brawl as Sullivan and Sabu continue to go through the crowds. ECW security manages to herd all four men to the backstage area.
Jim Cornette and the Heavenly Bodies are backstage. Cornette thinks that the Texas Hangmen are getting a little ahead of themselves. His team right here are former ECW Tag Team Champions and they have yet to get their return shot for those belts. He thinks that the Texas Hangmen should have to go through his team before they get a shot at the New Zealand Sheepherders.

Angle Developments:
Paul Ellering and Road Warrior Hawk are out for an interview. He explains the injuries suffered by Animal at the hands of the Mongols last week. Animal is going to be missing in action for a few months but he plans to carry on the battle. He'll take on the Mongols solo if need be.
NWA Commissioner Whipper Billy Watson has the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz and Johnny Valentine out for an interview. He wishes both men luck at Halloween Havoc. Thesz signs the contract and holds the belt up so Johnny Valentine can get a good look. He tells Valentine that this is as close as he's ever going to get to the championship. Valentine sucker punches Thesz right in the face. Valentine hits some big forearms and then drops the Atomic Skullcrusher on Thesz. Valentine signs the contract and stares down the fallen Thesz.
Bobby Heenan and Harley Race are out for an interview. Race says that Brazil is the former champion for a reason. He also excuses Brazil of ducking him while holding that belt.
