Almost an entire year with the belt and all it took was one Diamond Cutter to end it all. Just then, Eddie Gilbert interrupts the interview. Gilbert points out all the big wins he's had this year in the NWA and no one has offered him any title shots. He's changing that right now and he's challenging DDP to put the U.S. Title on the line next week. DDP says no problem, he'd love nothing more than to teach Gilbert the power of the Diamond Cutter.
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz is out for an interview. Johnny Valentine was a tough opponent in the ring. That's the closest he's come to defeat since winning the belt last year. Now, he's got to face a man that knows what holding the gold feels like. He was the first man to wear the 10 lbs. of gold and he outlasted 32 other men to get there. Bobo Brazil is going to be a tough challenger. At Starcade, he may be facing his toughest challenger yet.
NWA Commissioner Whipper Billy Watson is out with an announcement. Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams seem to have trouble following the rules of a standard wrestling match. That's why he's decided to have a final match between the champions and the Fabulous Kangaroos. But this time it will be inside of a steel cage. No rules, just a clear cut winner.
A video plays of a Texas ranch. Blackjack Mulligan rides onto the screen atop a horse. Mulligan says that he's the baddest man that's ever set foot inside of the squared circle. He's noticed that the NWA seems to be the place for the best in the world. That's why he's coming to the NWA and he's bringing hell with him.

Angle Developments:
Bill Alphonso and the NWA United States Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu are backstage. Alphonso says that his team isn't afraid of the Dream Team. He's managing the greatest tag team to ever wrestle in the NWA. He's not going to worry about a couple of bums that Jimmy Hart has thrown together.
Evan "Strangler" Lewis is backstage. He calls himself an old school ring general. No one has the technical skills that he's developed over the course of his career. His move, the Strangehold is unbreakable. He's so confident in this that he's willing to pay $10,000 to any man that can successfully escape the Stranglehold.
Ted Dibiase is backstage. The Mountie and the Shock Stick are a hard obstacle to overcome. But, the NWA bylaws say that he gets an automatic rematch from Halloween Havoc. The challenger earns this if the champion gets himself counted out or disqualified. Dibiase believes that the third time will be the charm.

NWA Women's Champion Nora Greenwald is out for an interview. Just as Nora opens her mouth she gets attacked by a mystery woman. The announcers and crowd are confused until they realize it's Leilani Kai. Kai puts the boots to Greenwald and then hits the Diving Splash. Jimmy Hart appears at ringside and orders her to hit it again. Kai crushes Greenwald with a second Diving Splash. Jimmy Hart climbs into the ring and raises Kai's hand in victory. Leilani Kai gets on the mic. She talks about the fact that she's a member of the NWA Hall of Fame and the fact that she's held singles and tag titles all over the world. She came to the LPWA for one reason and one reason only and that's to add the NWA Women's Championship to her trophy room. It's the most coveted women's championship in the world without question and she's decided that it's going to be her's. It's nothing personal with Nora Greenwald, she just has her belt right now.
Penny Banner is backstage. She mentions that she hasn't been happy with the matches she's being offered in the LPWA. She believes she should be getting some higher profile matchups.
MsChif is backstage with the NWA Women's Championship belt. She admits she didn't expect a living legend like Leilani Kai to enter the fray over this belt. She's amused that Nora Greenwald is going to have to fight off two women instead of just one right now. Just then Nora Greenwald attacks MsChif. They start brawling until security pulls them apart. Greenwald is being carried away while screaming that she'll take on MsChif and Leilani Kai.

*2 - Gilbert grabbed a chair and hit DDP with it to draw the DQ. Gilbert tossed the chair on the mat and used a piledriver right onto the chair.
Angle Developments:
Bobo Brazil is out for an interview. First and foremost, he respects what Lou Thesz has accomplished as the World Champion. Holding onto that belt for 20 months and successfully defeating the best the world has to offer is no small feat. He has been a dominate champion and few people have the ability to duplicate his run. But Thesz hasn't had to face anyone yet that's held that World Title. The difference between all of those other challengers and him is that he knows what it takes to win the World Title. He understands the glory and the responsibilities that come along with that belt. At Starcade Lou Thesz is going to face by far his biggest challenge to date.
Giant Baba is Bill Apter's guest this week on the Hot Seat. Through a translator, Baba says that he's come to the NWA because this is where the best wrestlers in the world come to compete. He wants to prove himself against the absolute best and he also wants to one day be the World Champion.
Another video plays of Blackjack Mulligan. He talks about how no one is going to be happy when he finally arrives in the NWA.
John Pesek is out for an interview. He finds that Ilio Dipaolo is a poor sportsman when he loses. The NWA offered him a rematch and he decided to sign it. He wants to punish Dipaolo a bit for what he did last week.
Next Week:
Giant Baba will face off with Gorgeous George in the main event...
Chris Candido and King Kong Bundy vs. Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke...
also in action will be Bobo Brazil, Harley Race, Midnight Express, the Mongols, Ilio Dipaolo, the Valiants, Antonino Rocca and Ivan Koloff.

King Kong Bundy and Larry Sharpe are backstage. Bundy is upset at the attack on his person by Hillbilly Jim last week. As far as he's concerned, they have some serious unfinished business to attend to. Hillbilly Jim had better watch his back from here on out.
Jimmy Hart and the Dream Team are backstage. Hart reminds Bill Alphonso that the Dream Team has held the U.S. Tag Team Titles in the past. They know what they have to do to be successful in the NWA.
Eddie Gilbert is backstage. He made DDP look like a chump last night. It wasn't about the title last night, it was about making a point. He put his name on the map and DDP will gladly put the belt on the line a second time. Next time, the belt will be leaving around his waist.

NWA World Championship Wrestling #29: 11/17/2012
taped from Atlanta, GA
Ivan Koloff d. Italian Stallion w/ the Russian Bear Hug Antonino Rocca d. Kenny Jay w/ the Argentinian Backbreaker the Valiants d. Vernon Deaton and Mike Simone w/ the Top Rope Elbow Ilio Dipaolo d. Pat Rose w/ the Airplane Spin the Mongols d. Larry Davis and Randy Hogan w/ the Mongolian Drop Midnight Express d. Bob Emery and Eddie Sweat w/ the Rocket Launcher Harley Race d. Jim Jamison w/ the Piledriver Bobo Brazil d. the Golden Terror w/ the Coco Butt Hillbilly Jim and Cousin Luke d. Chris Candido and King Kong Bundy w/ a scoop slam*1
Main Event: Giant Baba d. Gorgeous George w/ a boot to face
Notes:
*1 - Hillbilly Jim slams King Kong Bundy to the mat and jumps on him to score the pinfall. Bundy rolls out of the ring and stomps around the ringside area. Bundy tries to climb back into the ring but Jim knocks him back off.
Angle Developments:
Ilio Dipaolo is out for an interview. He says the referee made a bad call during his match with John Pesek. That's okay though. He's getting a second chance at Pesek and this time he's going to come out the victory.
NWA United States Champion Diamond Dallas Page is out for an interview. He's still got a pretty stiff neck from the Eddie Gilbert piledriver from last week. He promises that he'll be ready to go for their rematch at Starcade. DDP calls Gilbert nothing but a loud mouthed punk. It's going to be a total pleasure to catch Gilbert with the Diamond Cutter.
NWA World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams are out for an interview. Sullivan calls the Kangaroos a couple of pests that just don't know when to go away. Getting inside a cage with the likes of them is the height of insanity. He warns the Kangaroos that the kid gloves will be off inside of the steel cage. Williams agrees and says that Starcade is going to be an absolute bloodbath inside of the cage.
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz is the guest on Bill Apter's Hot Seat this week. Thesz says that Bobo Brazil is one of the top wrestlers in the world. He's one of the elite few to have held this championship in the past. Thesz thinks that this will probably be his toughest title defense to date because Brazil has been there before. Brazil knows the pressures and the challenges of being the champion and that does make a big difference in these types of matches.
A video plays of Blackjack Mulligan on his Texas ranch. He talks about the Claw and how devastating a maneuver it is. He doesn't think anyone in the NWA will be able to escape the hold. He's coming for the World Championship, the U.S. Championship and maybe even the tag team belts if he finds a worthy partner. A new era is about to begin in the NWA.
Next time...
Mil Mascaras vs. Ivan Koloff in the main event...
Curt Hennig takes on Bill Dundee in singles action...
also in action will be NWA World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, Giant Baba, Frank Gotch, Midnight Express, Ted Dibiase, Bruiser Brody, the Ortons and Freddie Blassie.
