Bill Alphonso leads the NWA United States Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu down to the ring. Alphonso mocks the Dream Team as being a couple of has beens that have been passed by in the sport of wrestling. His team will absolutely maul them. Rob Van Dam takes the mic. He mentions that they've been absolute game changers with these belts. A couple of old tired veterans like Greg Valentine and Brutus Beefcake can't hope to keep pace with them in the ring.
Jimmy Hart and NWA World Television Champion the Mountie are backstage. Hart complains that the Mountie shouldn't have to keep defending the title against the likes of Ted Dibiase. Most wrestlers don't get shown that level of favoritism. Hart promises that Starrcade will be the last chance for Ted Dibiase to get a shot at the title.

ECW Television Title Match: the Sandman (c) d. Steve Corino w/ the Hardcore DDT*1
Main Event: ECW Tag Team Title Match: New Zealand Sheepheders (c) d. the Heavenly Bodies w/ the Running Knee Smash*1
Notes:
*1 - Ken Doane comes down to the ringside area after the match. He supposes that if he wants something done right he'll have to take care of it himself. He challenges the Sandman for the ECW Television Title.
*2 - After the match Jim Cornette slides Stan Lane a pair of knuckles and he takes out Butch and Luke. The Bodies put the boots to the Sheepherders as the crowd pelts the ring with garbage. Cornette gets on the mic. He tells the Philly crowds that they are some of the dumbest and ugliest fans that he's ever had the misfortune of knowing. He's pretty sure he's going to have to sue ECW after the show because they all got STDs from how filthy this arena and the fans are.
Angle Developments:
Someone tries to interview Masada and he blows them off and leaves the ringside area.
Chris Candido, Justin Credible and Tammy Lynn Sytch come down to the ring. Sytch says that Candido is the top singles wrestler in ECW today. And since he's the top singles wrestler in ECW today, he should be getting a shot at the ECW Heavyweight Championship. Candido takes the mic and calls Sabu overrated. He could beat Sabu with one arm tied behind his back. Sabu doesn't stand a chance against him. Just then the arena goes dark. The lights come back up and Sabu is there holding a chair. He throws the chair right into the face of Justin Credible and then ducks a clothesline from Candido. Sabu springboards off the ropes and catches Candido with a heel kick. Credible struggles to his feet and hits Sabu with his Singapore Cane. Sabu stops his assault of Candido and gets right into the face of Credible. Candido takes the distraction to chop block Sabu right in the knee. Candido and Credible put the boots to Sabu until Credible bolts out of the ring. Candido hits a vertical suplex on Sabu while Credible slides a table into the ring. Candido head to the top rope and hits a diving headbutt on Sabu while Credible sets the table up in the corner. Candido motions towards the entrance area and then smacks Sabu's head into the table. The crowd explodes as someone charges down to the ringside area...
RHINO!!!
Candido smacks Sabu's head against the table a second time and then Rhino GORES! Sabu right through the table. Chris Candido, Justin Credible, Rhino and Tammy Lynn Sytch stand over the fallen Sabu. Candido and Sytch look very pleased with themselves over this situation. Joey Styles wonders where Rob Van Dam is when the camera crew finds him unconscious in the remains of a table backstage.

He doesn't want to hear the champs out here making empty brags about how tough they are.
The NWA holds a press conference for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship match at Starrcade. Lou Thesz and Bobo Brazil are in attendance and answering questions from the press. Bill Alphonso and the NWA United States Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu are backstage. Alphonso says he's got the greatest tag team in the NWA. They might not be the World Champs but that's only because they haven't been given the opportunity to win those belts yet. The Dream Team don't stand a chance in the face of an elite tag team. They might as well just concede the match right now.
King Kong Bundy is backstage. Hillbilly Jim has been messing with a force of nature that he can't hope to contain. At Starrcade, he's going to learn the hard way, waht a horrible mistake he's made.
