*1 - Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine attack after the match. Both teams brawl to the backstage area. The cameras follow as they brawl throughout the building. Security arrives and finally breaks up the fight.
Angle Developments:
NWA World Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz is out for an interview. He's been closely watching Diamond Dallas Page and he agrees, the Diamond Cutter is going to be a real problem for him. If Page gets him with that move, his reign as champion will be over just like that. It happened to the Destroyer and he would be foolish to think it couldn't happen to him. He's been working and training hard to develop defenses to the hold. He believes that Page will find it difficult to get him with the hold.
Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express are out for an interview. Cornette promises that the Fabulous Kangaroos are going to have a really short reign as the NWA World Tag Team Champions. You see, his boys are former World Champions and they've been waiting for nearly 2 years for their chance to regain those belts. They've come so far and they're not going to blow it when the ultimate prize is so close at hand.

Main Event: Evan "Strangler" Lewis d. Paul Lee w/ the Stranglehold
Angle Developments:
NWA World Television Champion Ted Dibiase is backstage. The Warlord is a very tough man. That Full Nelson hold is a really tough hold to escape if he locks it on. But he's still a more skilled wrestler and a more experienced wrestler than the Warlord. At Clash of the Champions, he'll successfully make his first defense of this belt.
Larry Sharpe and King Kong Bundy are backstage. Bundy says that Jim was lucky to be just feeling a little sore after the Avalanche. Next time he's not going to be so lucky.
Bill Dundee is backstage. He's been all over the world in his career and he's held dozens of championships from every kind of promotion you can imagine. Claudio Castagnoli might be the hot new piece of talent in wrestling right now but he's seen it all. He's going to surprise quite a few people and pick up the victory at Clash of the Champions.

Bill Alphonso and NWA United States Tag Team Champions Rob Van Dam and Sabu are out for an interview. Alphonso calls Studd and Bundy a couple of dumb brutes. His team will use their superior speed and intelligence to keep the belts for a little while longer. He's said it numerous times but his team are the uncrowned best tag team in the world today.
