I think the Buff Bagwell card is pretty much covering his time as "Buff" and as a the tag wrestler Marcus Alexander. It's got all the defensive tags on it. If anything it would be weaker if based soley as Marcus. I guess it could have a different finisher but that's a version I don't see a need for.

You know, you're right. I hadn't really looked at Buff's defense in a while, but it is very tag centric. So, how about a Handsome Stranger version of him instead?

I think the Buff Bagwell card is pretty much covering his time as "Buff" and as a the tag wrestler Marcus Alexander. Bagwell used a pretty different offense when he was in the "tag team" phase of his career. I think the heavy tag options on the Buff card may be because of his team with Norton. Like you mention, Marcus would have the fisherman suplex as the finish (or Yellow Jacket Suplex, if you prefer) and some more "babyface" type moves. I'd like the card, but there's not really much you'd be able to do with him right now without Scorpio, Patriot, or Riggs (all three names I'd like to see make the LOW roster some day). I've got my fingers crossed for..... a Barber version of Brutus Beefcake in future Promoters. You and me both.

I'd like to see a Lucha Konnan.

I know they want to do alternate versions for Promoter. But why not maybe release some of those really obscure guys that wouldn't really sell a set.

That's what I've been trying to get them to do. Right now seems like they just want to do alternate cards.

I think this would be a great way to get some jobbers in though. Guys like a Mike Jackson or a Randy Barber. Perfect Promoter releases.
You can only go so far with Alternatives though. I'm with with Bolo Mongol and guys like that. But when you're going to the tank for heel Snuka, then I start rolling my eyes a bit.

Except "heel" Snuka isn't even a Promoter alternate card, it's a LOWOnline exclusive (along with Handsome Harley Race and young "Pretty Boy" Bobby Heenan). I'm still not real sure what would be the draw of that card. I don't think anyone was clamoring for that. It's nice for people who have bought the online sets to get something extra, but I don't see it as being a selling point to draw people in.
Guys like Bolo or wrestlers who became managers will make it into Promoter, but I think Tom Filsinger is gun shy about pulling the trigger on releasing brand new wrestlers to the LOW world as online only. There should be at least two more good names coming to Promoter, if all things remain optimal. Past that I don't know anything about what's planned.

Does anyone know what the next card is going to be ? If it's still the one I drew, then yes, I do know. PS: And I just pm'd you because I never can tell how this "Filsinger Games shroud of secrecy" thing is supposed to work. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

I think the main issue with releasing "new guys" that the LOW has compared to the COTG is the fact that for someone to get an official card they need to be signed. In COTG, we can make millions of cards and not have to worry about the singing anyone b/c they are fake. Plus not wanting to give away new guys (even though we pay for the Promoter) may seem short-sighted, but it seems to be the way things just are. Since I can buy individual issues of the Promoter, making a card exclusive to that issue (and not an alternate card, but a new one) would make perfect sense. Especially since everything is digital anyway. I don't know, maybe things can be chalked up to change is scary.

I was always told if had to do with PDF files and people sharing it for free with others. Anyone with a scanner/printer and some cardstock can copy any physical card they want and can do with it what they want. If there's a will, there's a way. I guess the argument could be that simply sending an email with an attachment is easier and quicker, but I like to think most people are more honest than that and would just shell out the minimal cost of the newsletter for an issue they want. Seriously, it's cheaper than a cup of coffee. I'm not tech savvy, but is there some way to copy protect online content? By that I mean make it to where a file can be printed from that location, but not right-clicked and saved?

You can't print an online card unless you took the stats and made your own card from it. (read = retyped it into a template)

That's not true... it pretty easy to resize the window(Ctrl +/Ctrl -) and do a screen print.. I did so for some of the ACE guys that had on-line only updates, and it worked beautifully. Granted you can't really double side the card that way (you have to either glue/staple two bits back to back or just print the back), but it works.
Like Mark said, if that's the reason, it's kinda a silly one, it's pretty easy to pirate just about anything if you want to. The trick is making a good product so people are willing to pay for it.
