Okay, so here's my goal. I am going to make a between match interview chart. With some ideas from Wildfire I'm going to figure a rating for the wrestlers involved. My early idea for this is to use the heat system already established in the game.
8 and up would be an A rating 3-7 would be a B rating 2 and under would be a C rating
There of course would be a heel and face chart.
Now, the things that annoy me about the current charts and the guidelines I'm putting down for ideas are the following:
1. No hiring/firing managers. 2. No face/heel turns.
Other side notes. After I complete these charts I want to work on a Championship Match result chart and possibly a champion event chart to go along with the charts already in the game. I'm also looking at making a few sets, most notably SMW and nWo era WCW.
I'd like input from you guys as I go on this.

I would say you'd want to have a few items that affect a match later in the card... a fight with the guy he's fighting later in the day, an attack by a feuding enemy, etc.
Some items should help get the guy over, or not... affecting the guys overall rating (there's a few items like this on the pre-match chart)\
Maybe a couple option to create an impromptu match before the guy being interviewed and whoever interrupts?

I was playing around a bit with UW on the train (stuck for almost two hours... ugh) Some comments:
-- It really sorta feels like I'm flipping a coin, the charts and such seem to rarely effect the outcome. I might try multiplying the effects of the specialties or something.
-- That said, the charts are nice.. I really like the pre-match and post-match stuff.
-- It has a definite 'dynasty mode' kinda feel.. it's about the big picture, not the single matches.
I'm not sure I'll play more, but here's what I'm gonna do:
Instead of getting +20 after a win, and -25 after a loss, I'm going to make it a streak thing.. 10 for the first win/loss... 20 for the 2nd... 30 for the 3rd, etc.
I'm still debating about the 'heat' thing. I kinda like it, but I'm not sure how I want to use it.. anyone done anything with it?

I've used it. It's kind of weird and random but it helps to see who your top guys are and it does effect the game in the advanced version.

Though it being random, some guys get screwed. I started Chris Adams at a 10 for heat to be my top heel. He keeps getting punked out by people and is down to an 8 after a few shows. Likewise Kerry Von Eric started at 10 and has climbed to 13 just as quick.

Huh.. I was thinking of the heat as a 1 - 10 ranking, not a 'stat'.
Are you using that as a rating of sorts, then?

You're supposed to take your top 10 faces and top 10 heels and give them heat ratings from 1-10. It can go over 10 as the game dictates.

Yeah, but the charts refer to the '#1 heel' or the '#5 face' to me that say it's a top ten. I suppose it's not much different though.

They're ranked due to who's most over. So Kerry Von Erich at 13 is still the #1 face in WCCW. On the last show the Pretty Young Things both gained a point of heat. They aren't top 10 in the company but they have a point of heat and it will effect the heat level of matches for the advanced charts.

Hmmm... I think maybe you have something I don't... advanced charts?

Do you buy the game parts for it?

Yeah, I got the game parts and the 1973 set... the '73 set actually had all the charts with it (somewhat tweaked for the era).. There's the pre-match one, the post match one, and an 'unusual event' one (which never comes into play with the '73 stuff but that I'll use somehow).
I looked again last night, and that's what unzipped... I unfortunately wasn't able to double check the zip file.. it seems it's self-deleting or somethin'.

Got the 2010 set recently and oof... how can Kane be a 1400 when he held one of the World Titles for like 6 months. That makes zero sense to me. He should be a top guy in this set.

I havent watched WWE programming in two years so I wouldnt know how Kane is doing lately but a 1400 rating does seem really low for him. Personally Id rank him at least at 2100. I just purchased the supplemental 1991 handbook just to get the Kendo Nagasaki (UK version). My next purchases from Downey Games will be the 1973 Eastern Territory set and the 1985 handbook.

Just to give you an idea on the 2010 set. Here's the top 25 as far as ratings go:
1. John Cena - 2410 2. Randy Orton - 2390 3. Undertaker - 2365 4. Sheamus - 2340 5. Batista - 2315 - really he wasn't even active for half the year 6. Triple H - 2310 7. Edge - 2310 8. Rey Mysterio - 2305 9. Chris Jericho - 2300 10. CM Punk - 2280 11. Shawn Michaels - 2275 12. the Miz - 2250 13. Kurt Angle - 2225 14. Drew McIntyre - 2210 15. Rob Van Dam - 2200 16. Jeff Hardy - 2195 17. AJ Styles - 2190 18. Christian - 2185 19. Ted Dibiase Jr. - 2150 - seriously? 20. Sting - 2125 21. Abyss - 2105 - over Matt Morgan? 22. Mr. Anderson - 2100 23. Jack Swagger - 2100 24. Cody Rhodes - 2075 - again, seriously? 25. Finley - 2010 - this is a joke right?
