I finally got the money and paid today. I'm making an MMA fighting kangaroo for the game.

Heh, sounds cool. I'm pretty sure even if I wanted to, I wouldn't be allowed

It's pricey. I really had to scrape the money together for this.
My character has gotten a positive early reaction. Some tweeks to backstory were recommended and done.
Whenever he shows up in a teaser I'll post more about him.

Do you get to do the stats or does Rob do that for all the characters and you just give him a name and background? I also thought as he said the more people in this the less it would cost. Seems like a lot of people were doing a character.

The stats are done by you.

The stats are done by you. Though I asked Rob to help me tweek a bit to get my guy to where I would like him to be.
It's $50. For that you get your character made, the original artwork to it and the game edition on release. I believe most of the money is going to printing and the commission to Werner for doing the actual art.

Werner charges, what, $15 these days? Then there's the printing costs, shipping, paypal, and I heard that Swarm actually paid for the rights to do the set (though it was only 1 source, so I can't be certain about that).
Assuming there are as many guys as there seems to be, I'd say $50 is a decent deal.

The set alone is going to be $30 I think. So you're really paying $20 for your character to be in.
I'm not sure on Swarm paying for the rights. I think he said somewhere that he breaks even on the sets when it's all said and done. But that was for the 2124 Invasion he did. He might though, he is using Varsity, Sabre and Nemean in the GWFZ now.
What I'm going to miss with regular GWFZ updates is you'd get your game set and then mid-year he'd do an update with some new guys. I really wish the GWF would do that. I'm dying for some new blood when August and September roll around.

Yeah, I've love a PDF with a book and, say 4 guys every 3 months instead of 1 set a year... Osk was considering doing that for ACE, but I guess it turned out to be impractical in some way.

I considered getting in this but changed my mind. I had an idea for a 3 man team but couldn't figure out to how to make it work. I think the price is pretty cheap considering all the cards you get.

I agree.. even if it's 30 cards it's a good deal, and the way it's being described it could be way more than that.

I figure Swarm is going to be updating some guys along with all the promoter made characters. I wouldn't be surprised if there are at least 50 and maybe more in the set.

For that many guys, you might be better off contacting Werner yourself and making your own set.
