20-man Battle Royal

The bell rang and the action started. Sabu hit a leg lariat on Geeto Mongol and knocked the bigger man out of the ring. The fight continued all around the ring. Steve Corino broke away from Masked Superstar and took on Sabu. He lost that fight and Sabu threw the King of Old School out of the ring.
Bobo Brazil was all over Luke Williams and several head butts sent him over the top rope. Antonino Rocca had helped Baba against Greg Valentine, but then Baba turned his cites on him and sent Rocca to the floor.
Road Warrior Hawk was dominating the fight with the Sheik. Several big clotheslines and the Sheik went out of the just as Bobo Brazil was trying to get over to continue their long-running feud.
Billy Red Lyons surprised Sabu and knocked him out with a dropkick. The Crusher had been all over the Masked Superstar. The big masked man though turned it around with the Cobra and eliminated the Crusher.
Greg Valentine was set to toss Jushin Liger but Red Bastien hit him from behind and knocked the Hammer out of the ring. Al Costello wore down Mad Dog Vachon and finally got him to the floor.
Ivan Koloff left Bruiser Brody to attack Al Costello and dumped him out of the ring. Hawk got the better of Bobo Brazil and sent him to the floor.
Billy Red Lyons surprised the crowd when he eliminated Rikidozan. Former long-time tag team partners went to work on each other. Both have new partners for the tournament and Billy Red Lyons got the better of Red Bastien.
Giant Baba has taken a lot of punishment so far but he keeps fighting and eliminated Masked Superstar. Lyons continues him impressive run and after a long fight tossed out Jushin Liger. Baba interjected into the battle between Brody, Hawk and Koloff. The Russian Bear took advantage of his depleted state and threw Baba out of the ring.
Down to four men left when Brody tossed Hawk to the floor while Koloff started against Lyons. Almost at the same timie Koloff hurled Lyons over the top rope, leaving just himself and Brody.
Brody and Koloff go back a long way to their battles in Puerto Rico. Brody took charge and dumped the Russian Bear to the floor to win the battle royal.

Frank Gotch def. William Muldoon

These two met in Block A of the All-Asia round robin tournament, with Gotch picking up the win. Muldoon didn't get much going his way this time around either. Gotch stayed on top and the Toe Hold put away Muldoon.
Johnny Valentine def. Mil Mascaras

A great match as the other wrestlers on the roster compete for a title shot at the end of the tour. This one was even all the way and back and forth. Valentine exploded with offense and just kept hammering Mascaras over and over with the Atomic Skullcrusher.
Steve Williams def. Terry Gordy

The feud between these former partners continues. After the breakup in ICW and subsequent battles, they both came to Japan for the round robin tournament. One more meeting and these two pounded away on each other. Dr. Death seemed to have the upperhand and a second Oklahoma Stampede put Gordy away.
Mongols def. Steve Corino & Bryan Danielson

An awesome first tag team match of the night. Sir Oliver Humperdink brought him Mongols out to the ring, but it was Bepo and Bolo, since Geeto was in the battle royal. This was mostly a brawl with a lot of fighting on the floor. For awhile the only offense the Mongols had came when they used their chains on both opponents. Bolo ended up choking out Corino to score the win.
Sheepherders def. Antonino Rocca & Ilio DiPaolo

This one was short compared to the first tag match. DiPaolo got caught on the outside by Butch Miller. Back in the ring a double gutbuster put him down for the three count.
Rob Van Dam & Sabu def. Sheik & Terrible Turk

An intriguing matchup with the Sheik and his nephew Sabu. They are in the same block so will meet again in the tournament. This time RVD quickly landed the Five-Star Frog Splash on the Turk and it was over. The Sheik and Sabu never got in the ring.
Enforcers def. Jim Duggan & Crusher

Greg Valentine and Larry Zbyszko showed they are going to be a very tough team in the tournament. They completely dominated a pair of big tough guys in the former WWC North American tag team champion. Duggan and the Crusher are still tough to finish off as both were piledrove by Zbyszko. They couldn't take the advantage back by fighting on the floor either and finally Zbyszko beat Duggan to win the match (Crusher 5 coins, Duggan 3 coins).
Kangaroos def. Vachons

These teams are familiar with each other as last summer the Vachons lost their I-C tag titles to the then world tag champs the Kangaroos in a title for title match. A great back and forth match with plenty of nearfalls. The teams went round and round but Costello beat Mad Dog with the leglock. Luna Vachon chased after Wild Red Berry following the match.
Antonio Inoki & Rikidozan def. Bobo Brazil & Magnum T.A.

A great back and forth match. Rikidozan took a lot of punishment. Inoki got the tag and went to work on Magnum T.A. An enzuigiri finished him off.
Super Destroyers def. Red Pepper

Pepper Gomez was cut off from Red Bastien and couldn't get out of the ring. Destroyer and Masked Superstar did a number on him, tagging in and out. The Destroyer suplexed him over his head again and got the pin.
Giant Baba & Don Leo Jonathan def. Tiger Mask & Jushin Liger

An interesting matchup of fan favorites. The cruiserweight team really had no luck at all in this one. Baba and Jonathan each landed finsihers during the match. Liger went down after the Neckbreaker Drop.
Road Warriors def. Crusaders

Hawk and Animal dominated but Lyons and Robertson put up a good fight. They made tags and had some offense going off the top rope. The Legion of Doom was too much though and the Doomsday Device put away Lyons.
Foreign Force def. Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka

A great match for Fuji and his partner as he has formed the Foreign Force with the Iron Sheik. Snuka took a lot of punishment while Brody carried the team. Snuka took the Banzai Drop and the Backbreaker from Koloff ended the match.
Best 2/3 Falls
All-Asia Heavyweight Championship
Iron Sheik def. Nick Bockwinkel (ch), 2-0

The first fall shocked the fans for the viciousness of the Iron Sheik and Mr. Fuji. The two jump started the match, then the Iron Sheik put Bockwinkel down hard and fast. He hit him with a loaded boot, and twice on the floor Bockwinkel was almost counted out. The Iron Sheik put the Camel Clutch on and took the first fall.
Bockwinkel didn't give up the title without a fight. He came back and had the Iron Sheik in the figure four leglock for a long time. They kept on fighting but Mr. Fuji created the final opening to decide the match. He tripped Bockwinkel off the ropes and then the Camel Clutch put Bockwinkel away. The Iron Sheik is the new All-Asia heavyweight champion! (Bockwinkel 6 coins, Iron Sheik 4 coins)
