Season Recap, Post-Season News:
Had a lot of time the past week or so between All Stars tournaments, etc, so I played out the rest of the season the same way I did the last season (Playing some games in full, others just rolling dice to see what team wins). I get pretty ADD with this fed, but it's to be expected when you have to play THIS MANY MATCHES, but I digress. I'll still cover the playoffs in full.
Final standings:
EASTERN CONFERENCE: Orlando (31-4) Chicago (30-5) New Orleans (29-6) Columbus (28-7) Oklahoma City (27-8) Boston (26-9) New York City (23-12) Atlanta (20-15) Detroit (19-16) St. Louis (18-17) Philadelphia (14-21) Montreal (13-22)
WESTERN CONFERENCE: San Diego (33-2) <--- Their two season losses were to Dallas (Week 23) and New York (Week 35) Portland (31-4) New Mexico (28-7) Houston (27-8) San Francisco (26-9) Dallas (25-10) Los Angeles (24-11) Utah (24-11) Tokyo (22-13) Mexico City (16-19) Phoenix (14-21) Seattle (12-23)
First playoff appearances for: Chicago, Boston, Columbus, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles
That being said, the first round of the playoffs look like this:
NEWS: - The Mexico City Bandidos are relocation to San Antonio, Texas. They will retain the Bandidos name. This comes after two seasons of complaints about Mexico City being too dangerous a locale and many teams not wanting to wrestle home games against Los Bandidos.
- Montreal will relocate as well, to Pittsburgh. The team will be named the Pittsburgh Pistons, and new head coach Gabe Sapolsky promised big changes for the team in the third season.
- Harley Race announced he would not renew his contract with the St. Louis Spirits, and that he was officially a free agent as of the end of the season. Several teams are interested in Harley, he is definitely going to be the first overall draft pick.
- On Week 24, the Finalist Savages and Destroyers met again, with the Savages winning, sweeping the season series over the Eastern Conference Champions two falls to none.

WWL TV Playoffs Round 1 Recap:
Sixteen teams enter but only eight remain. Who gets one step closer to the WWL Championship? We'll check out the East first.
[1] Orlando vs. Atlanta [8]: It was a three game sweep as the Hurricanes started the series at home with two big wins as Randy Orton showed up, scoring the winning fall in both games with the RKO. As the games went to Atlanta, Dusty Rhodes rallied the troops, and Gran Akuma scored the lone fall of the series over Curt Hennig. Hennig would hit that Hennig Plex to even the game up, and Ted DiBiase would wrap up Game 3, giving Orlando a pass into the next round.
[2] Chicago vs. New York City [7]: Two of the toughest teams in the league would duke it out for five games. The series started in Chicago with NYC taking Game One courtesy of Drew McIntyre and The Rock. Second game saw LOD's Doomsday Device decide the third fall when Dan Severn was the victim. Game 3 was at MSG, and Chicago went up 2-1 as Triple H drove The Rock through the mat with a Pedigree. NYC rebounded in Game 4 to tie up the series with Drew McIntyre hitting Shawn Michaels with the Future Shock in a two fall game. The deciding game would be fought in Chicago in the United Center and DX would close out the series with a Sweet Chin Music to Drew McIntyre and a Pedigree to Brent Albright. Chicago advances to take on Orlando.
[3] New Orleans vs. Boston [6]: It's a dream match, Andre vs. Big Show, and the fans of Boston and New Orleans would witness it four times in all. Boston took game one decisively with the help of Tyler Black's Phoenix Splash and John Cena's STF. Game 2 saw Andre the Giant hit the Big Splash on Big Show to close out New Orleans' only win at home. Boston would come back, with Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Andre and locking in the STF on Rick Rude to put the Stranglers up 2-1. The final game would be at the TD Bankmore Garden in Boston, and was perhaps the hardest fought game of Round One as John Morrison won the first fall over Brodie Lee. Andre the Giant would be injured in the second fall by Big Show, but would still win that fall. Rick Rude would fall victim to the Phoenix Splash as Tyler Black gave Boston their third win, and a pass into the second round.
[4] Columbus vs. Oklahoma City [5]: CBUS didn't even hit the playoffs last year, so this year they showed up looking to prove themselves against the rough and tough Outlaws, and they did just that. CBUS took the first two games at home thanks to Ric Flair and Lou Thesz. The next three games, however would go to the Outlaws. Wade Barrett was the difference maker in game three, hitting the Wasteland on Shinsuke Nakamura. Game Four saw Lou Thesz be put down by Danny Hodge, and Ric Flair would go on to lose to Steve Williams. Game Five was brutal, as Ric Flair would be sent to the bench by Batista's spinebuster, and the second fall ended with Nick Bockwinkel submitting Jim Duggan. OKC takes on Boston in the next round.
And now for the Wild Wild West, who advances to the next round?
[1] San Diego vs. Utah [8]: The league champions tore down a focused Pioneers team in three straight games as Eddie Kingston hit the Lariat to end all three games. The Savages looked like they did last year, mowing through the veteran team with their combination of brute force, tag team ability, and their newfound luchador army. SD sweeps it 3-0.
[2] Portland vs. Los Angeles [7]: The #1 Team in the West going into the Playoffs last year ended up with the #2 seed this year, but they knew this year's first round team would be tougher than last. Steve Austin wrapped up Game 1 with a Stunner. Portland rallied at home, and Giant Baba hit the neckbreaker drop on Tyson Kidd to win Game 2. Back at the STAPLES Center, LA would win the final two games required with the Hart Attack in the third fall of a classic to Ox Baker, and Steve Austin put down Giant Baba with a Stunner. LA takes on San Diego next round.
[3] New Mexico vs. Dallas [6]: New Mexico were a conference final team last year, and they showed up this round looking like they wanted to take that title this year. Dallas won the first game due to the overwhelming ability of the Von Erich boys. Second game saw Gary Hart's brute team of Jack Swagger, One Man Gang, and King Kong Bundy workin' overtime to win that game. Third game was a rough one with Jack Swagger on the bench, but The Miz stepped in, hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on Davey Richards to end the game. The fourth game would be the last, as Miz and Heath Slater took two straight falls, and New Mexico advances to the next round.
[4] Houston vs. San Francisco [5]: Houston are a tough team, but they've lost a bit of steam towards the end of the season and with Undertaker out for the playoffs, they're gonna have to work hard. They tried, but the youth and ability of San Francisco was too much for Booker T and company as San Francisco swept Houston, and will meet the Coyotes next round.
The playoffs now look like this, who will take the WWL Crown this year?

WWL Playoffs Semifinals Game 1 Recap:
We're down to eight teams in the hunt for the Season 2 WWL Championship, so who took the opportunity to get one step closer as the conference semifinals began?
Chicago (0-1) @ Orlando (1-0): The semifinals opened in Orlando as the Hurricanes took on the Warriors in a two fall sprint. Randy Orton got it done in the first fall with the RKO to CM Punk. Second fall was a bit more back-and-forth, but in the end the Mormon Giant took it to Road Warrior Hawk, and Orlando went up 1-0 in the series.
Boston (1-0) @ Oklahoma City (0-1): Over in the OKC, Boston had a successful opening night as an injured Steve Williams sat on the bench and watched his team struggle to deal with the Big Show, who picked up the first fall with a knockout punch. John Cena would get Wade Barrett with the Attitude Adjustment in the second fall, and Boston starts off strong.
Over in the West, we had some shootouts, starting with...
Los Angeles (0-1) @ San Diego (1-0): LA is one of the most well rounded teams in the entire league, but Eddie Kingston and Mil Mascaras kept the gap pretty far in this game. Steve Austin pinned Jay Briscoe in the first fall. Mil came right back with the Flying Bodypress to Rob Van Dam. Third fall saw Kingsotn hit the lariat on Sombra. Savages lookin' like they want to repeat as League Champions, and they're one step closer.
San Francisco (1-0) @ New Mexico (0-1): Gary Hart brought his conference final lineup to the table for this round and San Francisco did not back down as Chris Hero scored the first fall over King Kong Bundy with the Emerald Elbow Pad. Roderick Strong submitted Jack Swagger in the third fall to bring home a victory for San Francisco.
POST GAME NOTES: - Jesse Ventura spoke about the Boston/OKC matchup, saying: "Well, the doctors say that Steve [Williams] will miss three games at the least. Oklahoma's gameplan has always been built very strongly around him, so they're gonna have an adjustment period here, but I think they'll get back on track. I think this is as far as Boston gets."
On the subject of losing to Chicago: "Look, they're a great team. They've learned the Western Conference style of 'hey, everyone's a part of our team, we should work together' whereas the Eastern teams tend to build around just one or two guys with a supporting cast. I think we've got a pretty good team, we'll be back next year."
On Harley Race: "Well had he told me he was leaving before the trade deadline, Harley would have been on my team by that deadline. He'll definitely be the first overall pick and he'll add to whatever team he gets drafted to."
- Bill Watts was asked his predictions for the Conference Finals. Watts said he sees Orlando over Oklahoma City 4-2, and San Francisco over San Diego 4-3. Watts then said he sees the finals being Orlando over San Francisco 4-2. "It's time the East showed that they're better than the West, and Orlando's the perfect team."
When asked about the Boston/OKC series, Watts laughed and added: "Boston don't stand a chance past game two against Jim Ross."

POST SERIES THOUGHTS: - When asked about losing the series, Chicago interim coach Jim Cornette said: "Orlando were a hell of a tough team but we made it this far after people said we'd miss out on the playoffs again. I could see Orlando winning the championship but they've got a tough, tough challenge in Oklahoma City ahead of them."
- Several coaches voiced surprise at San Diego losing their Semifinal series to the Express. Titans coach Jesse Ventura: "I thought they would have wrapped it up in five or six games. Once I saw Los Angeles win game 5, I knew it was over. They didn't stand a chance but for my money, the Savages are still the toughest team in the league."
Spirits coach Bill Watts: "I'm shocked, I thought they'd have swept the Express but LA advances. I'm stunned right now, but they're going to be facing a fresh San Francisco team, and I think they need to focus on that."
Outlaws coach Jim Ross: "It was a hard fought series and the boys in San Diego have nothing to be ashamed of. I think they should have won Game 4, but the referee disagreed when it came to Eddie Kingston's lariat and the count before the time limit expired. Personally, I think Playoffs games should have no time limit. I think had there been no time limit, the Express would not have advanced."
Hurricanes wrestler Randy Orton: "I was hoping we'd advance to face them in the finals. Obviously, I'm not overlooking Oklahoma but when I thought of teams we'd face in the finals, the Savages were definitely it. With them out of the picture, I could see San Francisco advancing, I don't think LA has any momentum left going into the Conference Finals."

WWL Finals Recap: The Eastern Conference Champions the Orlando Hurricanes defeated a strong Oklahoma City team in five games whereas Los Angeles battled to a seven game classic series with San Francisco. The two would meet in one of the most hotly anticipated series in WWL History.
Game 1: Los Angeles (0-0) @ Orlando (0-0): Fall One: The Hurricanes take the first fall after Randy Orton hits a massive RKO on Christopher Daniels. Fall Two: Steve Austin hits a Stunner on Curt Hennig to take the fall. Fall Three: The time limit expired, forcing overtime. Overtime: Ted DiBiase submitted Rob Van Dam with the Million Dollar Dream. ORL 1-0
Game 2: Los Angeles (0-1) @ Orlando (1-0): More of the same for the Hurricanes as Randy Orton gets it done in the first fall with the Orton backbreaker on Tyson Kidd. The second fall saw a big rally from the Hart Dynasty as they actually pinned Don Leo Jonathan following the Hart Attack. In the third fall situation, Steve Austin hit a Stunner out of nowhere but the pin was interrupted. The Express lose their second game in a row when Curt Hennig drops the Hennig-Plex on Rob Van Dam. ORL 2-0
Game 3: Orlando (2-0) @ Los Angeles (0-2): Feeling the effects of sixteen straight playoff games, the Express knew they had to bring the best out of their benched wrestlers to win this match. The first fall saw the Express take hold as Daniels hit the Angel's Wings on Hurricanes star Randy Orton. LA would sweep this game at home as Austin hit a Stunner on DiBiase to take Game 3. ORL 2-1
Game 4: Orlando (2-1) @ Los Angeles (1-2): On what could possibly be their final home game of the playoffs, the LA Express fought their hearts out in front of a sold out STAPLES Center crowd. Orlando showed up to win tonight and Don Leo Jonathan set up the first fall victory for Curt Hennig over La Sombra. Second fall was a hotly contested one as Christopher Daniels got the win over Ted DiBiase. For the second time in this series, we went to overtime where Steve Austin hit a clutch Stunner to take down Orlando. Series Tied 2-2
Game 5: Los Angeles (2-2) @ Orlando (2-2): Not many teams could have picked up the momentum the Express did going into the final playoff games which will be contested in Orlando. Randy Orton lead his team to a swift first fall victory over Christopher Daniels via the RKO. The Express send in the Hart Dynasty and much like in game two, they win the second fall with the Hart Attack on the Mormon Giant. The third fall would go the time limit forcing the teams into overtime where Randy Orton hit the RKO on Steve Austin to put Orlando up 3-2. ORL 3-2
Game 6: Los Angeles (2-3) @ Orlando (3-2): One game away from victory, and one away from Game 7, Orlando knew they had to show up tonight or risk another game against a team that just would not go down. The Express started off hot with the Dynasty hitting the Hart Attack on Bobby Eaton. Scrambling to get the match to a tie, Ted DiBiase clamped on a Million Dollar Dream to Rob Van Dam. The third fall would not go to a time limit draw as Randy Orton hit the RKO to defeat Steve Austin and the Express in Six. ORL 4-2

ESPN: Pre-Draft Trades, Draft Order, League Reacts to Orlando's Championship: The following trades have been confirmed: Rey Mysterio and Mil Mascaras (SD) for Dynamite Kid and Dan Severn (NYC) Jimmy Jacobs (NMX) for Brad Armstrong (PHI)
Also, here is the order for the WWL Season 3 Draft:
Seattle Philadelphia (First Round Pick goes to Los Angeles) Pittsburgh Phoenix San Antonio (Second Round Pick goes to San Diego) Detroit St. Louis Atlanta Tokyo (First Round Pick goes to New York) New York City (Second Round Pick goes to New Mexico) Los Angeles Utah Dallas San Francisco Boston Oklahoma City Houston Columbus New Mexico New Orleans Chicago Portland San Diego Orlando
The following comments were made about the Orlando Hurricanes winning the WWL Championship.
Jesse Ventura: "The Hurricanes are a tough team but let's not forget that the Express had to go through two straight seven game series before they got to Orlando. I'm not tainting their win at all, but people seem to overlook that."
Bill Watts: "They're the best team in the league, I think we need to re-evaluate the Playoff rules. there's no need for three overtimes in one series."
Jim Ross: "I can't say I'm surprised that Orlando takes the title this year. They're a hell of a team and with the upcoming draft the fact they're able to expand gives them scary potential for next season."
