I thought the art was pretty good (yours, I assume, Mark?)
It's more cartoony that your stuff usually is, but I like that.

I decided to go a little on the cartoon side for Beefcake since it fit the character. From the wild eyes and facial expression to the persona as a whole, Beefcake was kind of a walking cartoon during that era. He was one of the truly "larger than life" guys of the late 80s- early 90s. There was originally no plan to do a Beefcake card when this project got started, but I went ahead and did the drawing anyway and then lobbied to get the card done. Fortunately it worked out. I can't wait for the pdf to go online so I can use this card.

Good job Mark. Love the image. Very fitting.
And I too am waiting for the PDF to go online.

I've been saying a Beefcake as the Barber card forever, since the idea of alternate versions first started. Glad it finally happened.

I love the art for Johnny Valiant and Beefcake. I would, for the first time ever, print out and use the card for Valiant if the back of the card didn't look so awful. The back of Bolo is great, although it looks like the logo is a bit squished and it's so easy to make a © symbol.
But the back of the Valiant card would stick out like a sore thumb amongst all the LOW cards. It doesn't even look close to the official releases.

I think I already addressed the problem with the Valiant card either in this thread or another one, but I'm the first to admit the back of the Valiant card isn't up to par. Whoever did the cards before wasn't going to do them anymore and there was no one to step up on short notice. Cory asked if I could do it. I let him know that I have no technical expertise and no proper software to get the job done, but I'd try. What I had to do was take the Bolo card, send it through a file converter, and then edit it in Microsoft office. When I converted the file it didn't translate 100-percent accurate. It was the best I could do and it was the only way a card got into that issue at all. There's a set of manager stats with an interference chart and a different drawing out there that will probably never be seen because there was no one to do that card and I didn't have a template to borrow from.
With Beefcake they've apparently found someone who can do it properly, but I don't know who and I don't know when it'll show up as I have no contact with anyone on that side of things now that Cory isn't editor on the Legends side of Promoter.

I appreciate your post Mark. It's weird they didn't throw it out to the public. There's folks who can do this and have the software. I could do it, but it was never put out there for people to offer to help. With the new Card Generator, it's easier than ever too - solberg1.com/CTG/ - but that's a 'non-FG thing' so maybe they don't want to use it. And apparently it's wrong to even say anything about it. I did on the main board (which you say Mark as you PMd me about it) and my post was deleted. I've made a public offer to help. We'll see what happens.

Yeah, it was there but I figured it wouldn't be for too long so I didn't respond in that thread. I'm not sure what the problem was exactly, but I think there were some shake-ups in the Legends Promoter crew and some overall confusion that month. I'd like to see the Valiant card re-released with a corrected back (and the Bolo released with corrections to the stats and the art on the card front sized properly, for that matter) but I'm not sure if that's on the radar or not.

I didn't know Cory was hanging it up until I emailed him about the next deadline for the issue and he told me. I don't know who is organizing the LOW stuff, maybe no one yet and John jus handled it all this issue.

The Beefcake PDF is up. Let me know how it works. It matches up to the other PDFS, but I didn't have an official card to compare it to at my office.

Thanks to all for the Beefcake. I won't use him regularly but will use him in special attractions when I turn him face next.

I'm about to scream.
The drawing is supposed to be HORIZONTAL NOT VERTICAL! Grant had it right, but the new .pdf card has it squeezed into about a three inch space in the middle of the front of the card! The same thing happened to the Bolo Mongol drawing, too! That one was supposed to be vertical though, so I'm still not sure why all the white space at the top and bottom of the card. The only one that's been right has been the Johnny V card, and that's because I did that one myself. Only the back sucked because I didn't have the right program to get it to look right!
I firmly believe this legends online card project is jinxed from a production standpoint. Not a single one of these cards has turned out right so far.
