Just curious...I remember Christians original drawing and the vastly different CAC drawing (have zero idea about this new one) and always wondered why they were Soooo so different

The new one is spot on when compared to the original. You could say the character has some full circle. Fan or not, hard not to admit this newest version erased any memory of that CAC fiasco.

Thanks for biting that fish hook big fella. Don''t like it much when the shoe is on the other foot, do ya? btw did you buy the set? Congratulations. You got me good. I'll be up nights thinking about how much that one stings. What difference does it make if I bought the set or not?

I'm sure Book would happily tell you if he had the set or not as soon as you tell us A) who you are and B) why you insist on using all different guest names when we all know it's one person posting.

What Swarm did was more like being a fan of Mickey Mouse, getting a job at Disney and then getting to write something for Mickey Mouse. This would be a perfect analogy, with two slight changes. First, what our Disney employee is doing here, is bootlegging Mickey Mouse tee-shirts in his garage and selling them on a Disneyland fan website. Second, Walt Disney is publicly on record as not wanting said Disney employee to have anything to do with Mickey Mouse. Now, that wouldn't change Disney Inc's right to do what every they want with Mickey, including give it to said employee to sell bootleg tee-shirts out of his garage. They totally have that right and no one can argue with it. But sometimes, there's a difference between what someone has the right to do and what is right to do. Still doesn't work. There's other Filsinger IP in there. Star Warrior, Max Shield, Pulsar and several others. The mistake you're making is that Varsity is Filsinger IP because of the CAC contest and Swarm has been given limited access to Filsinger IP for this set. Now how he presented it is up for debate but Swarm is 100% legally in the right. He needed permission from Tom, not Christian.

So is this why Christian could be angry in the first place about the entire Varsity thing? I would have thought winning the CAC contest was to have your own character in the game, not Tom's interpretation of it (unless it was putting it into a group) I don't know. Seems like the other winners fit the description (minus the craptastic Bendis art) and Varsity was totally off the mark

Got to hand it to the GWFZT staff. Delivering the handbook and then promising the cards in two weeks. Everyone knows the world ends this Saturday so we'll never see the cards. Though, being an Atheist, I'll still be here and I do have Todd's home address....

I'm only about 50 pages through the book, but I'm really enjoying what I see so far. Cant wait to get the set.
As a huge Varsity fan from way back (Christian even made a special edition Varsity card for my old bootleg fed based on his stellar run there. I still have that card as well!) I'm happy to see the character return to his "original hardcore" roots and I cant wait to use him again along with my other old school favorite Kanazawa.
I understand there is controversy over the Varsity character as well as continued bad blood between individuals but I'm not going to let it hamper my enjoying these cards and the new fed I'll create. A life altering event taught me that life is far too short to sweat the small stuff.

So we will all get 5 and a half months play time!!

Side note. The women's territory has 17 women wrestlers. Not bad, not bad at all.
