I'm pretty sure Cardinal Sin is just a play on the "cardinal" aspect to get him in the Animan territory. He fits perfectly with "Saint" Bernard in that respect. Mind you, as I already noted on the official board, I liked the original Cardinal and thought that was what we'd be seeing here, but it never even entered my mind to think it may be a knock on a guy who used to post on the message boards. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar as Freud used to say (or was it George Burns?).
The tribute, or cloneworld, characters are kind of some of the ones I'm looking most forward to, honestly. Different scenes for different genes I guess.
The only one I haven't like so far? Mike Quackenbush. I think he should've been an Animan duck named "Mike Quackin' Bush". (not really)

Here I am (yeah it's actually really me and not one of the multiple fake screen names of myself on this board here that some people apparently enjoy doing just to bag on me) on a board that has done multiple pile on threads about myself. For the record, Mr. Vega is actually not a card created about myself as I really don't own a major casino or regularly get to hang out with some smoking hot twin chicks called the Vellas. It just sucks because Legends is my personal favorite game of Filsingergames and here on this board are so many talented people like Switchfoot whose Legends knowledge and creativity I truly respect (and most of whom I never even said a bad word about)- but I know I am not welcomed here even if I wanted to rejoin full time. In the past, I always thought Wildfire was cool and intelligent- he is in many ways IMO a good choice for an admin even if he doesn't like me. Double A, you said lots of shit about me. Regardless, I still and always will respect your knowledge and passion about wresting history and college basketball (what a great program you get to follow in Kentucky!) and I think your Memphis bootlegs are brilliant (the same with your awesome manager distraction charts- many of those should be made official because they really are that damn good) and they are all obviously inspired with intelligent passion for the game. Havoc, in some ways you really are the wittiest and most hilarious poster in this entire community. We used to be friends, and I really miss having you as a friend. I just wish if you didn't like some of the things I said that you PMd me about it instead of making up fake Mr. Vegas guest posts here to try to make fun of me. Once again I'm sorry if I said too much in excitement when some of my LOW signings like Jerry Lynn got announced. I wasn't trying to brag about anything ( I think I was just excited about someone I signed getting a card), and I apologize to everyone here for the misimpression. Peace?

but I know I am not welcomed here even if I wanted to rejoin full time. To my knowledge, no one has been denied a membership here. Whether you'd want to be a member is a different story but all are welcome. Our mod may be a douche but he's no pussy. QFT ;D That just wouldn't be as fun. In that thread a couple months ago, only one of the fake Vegas posts was me and if I recall I was the first to apologize if it went to far. As far as GWFz cards based on real people or to ridicule others I don't see the big deal even if it's true. It's not an official set. If I'd have created a card I'd have created a Goth Boi bootleg to bag on myself.

What am I supposed to be looking at? That's a link. I'm asking you what makes you "suspect" Cardinal Sin is some joke parody card? What makes you accuse Mr. Vegas of creating a playing card for himself? Is there an announcement somewhere I missed where Swarm or Mr. Vegas said he was? What makes you assume there are cards like this in the set? Don't show me a picture. I know what it looks like. I want to know what reasons you have to make those bold assumptions/accusations. There's no bold assumption that Mr. Vega is Mr. Vegas. If he did not make a card in the set then someone else did. If this is Vegas above, yeah you're not a casino owner or have two babes on your arms, but anyboyd that knows you on any board and sees that card will think it is meant to be vegas. No judgment about doing that, but at the same time nobody can get all up in arms about pointing out it appears to be a card of vegas.

And Jim Steele did himself as a card too. But then I think he has a great wrestling name.

Bold assumptions and accusations?! I thought that only happened on the "other board."

Always some sort of drama breaks out on a GWF thread it seems like. I am a LOW player but I am going to give the new Territories a purchase and see how I like it. I am sure every card in the set won't appeal to my personal tastes, but I am sure there will be a big number that will. I really like Werner's art a lot, and am sure a lot of the new characters will have some interesting bios as well. It is meant to be a fun, fan-based set. I can understand why people would make cards of themselves. You get a great deal with a professional artist drawing your card, a bio, and a 131 card set for a great price. Probably will be the best selling Z set to date, considering they are getting LOW guys like me to buy it.

@ Vegas: I don't dislike you at all, I apologize if I gave that impression. I do think you tend to toot your own horn a bit much, but that's not a crime, it just gets annoying at times. There's lots of people that post that do things that annoy me. I'm sure I do things that are annoying to people, too... it happens. To be honest, it's really more the FG 'veil of secrecy' that aggravates me more than anything...that makes it grate on you some when someone says something like 'guess who I signed, it's great!' I appreciate your passion for the game, it's great to see, with it, Legends would be gone, I think... Tom doesn't really sign guys anymore. You're more than welcome to post here at any time, either as a guest, using your old account (I'm pretty sure 'Street Dog' is you) or with a new one... as is anyone else. Clearly, y'all visit, you should post when you have something to say Take a look around... Swarm's posted (I'm pretty sure a couple of them are him). There's the 'guest' that's posted in this thread that is too chickenshit to say who he is, they're all still here. BTW, I think I can speak for all of us when I say it's pretty clear when someone is really posting as a guest, and when someone *CoughHavocCough* is posting a parody to be funny, so don't worry about that Unlike some people who run boards, when I say anyone is welcome, I mean it. I LIKE arguments on the boards. They're entertaining. Havoc gets this. Alot of the other guys here get it, too. Back to the topic: I'm not saying it's BAD that people are creating their own GWF personas, or parodies.. .the point of the set was to let them do just that. I was just saying I wasn't as interesting in those as I would be in original characters created to inhabit the FG universe. Just like I've said before I'm not much of a fan of GWF-ized versions of real guys... it can work occassionally, but if it's just a 'clone world' thing it doesn't really do anything for me.

King, I don't think anyone is trying to persuade you from purchasing the set, by all appearances it is well done. Do what makes you happy. The drama begins with some folks from another Great Lakes state. Just how it is.

Yeah, I still think it's a great deal, even if you only like 1/2 the cards, that's still 1/2 the price of Tom's stuff.
Though why one of the Michigan boys seems to be doing his best to get people not to buy it I'm not sure.

And please stop trying to put MI boys and logic together; it is just--illogical.

You 2 are the only ones creating any drama. Accusing people of creating parody cards (wrong), making assumptions and pointing fingers.
Executioner clearly has some weird personal axe to grind. Wildfire, you said it yourself "the more I see of the set the less I want it."
I'm sure that makes the guys here who created cards feel good. It's the biggest fan-made set ever (by far), yet the more you see if it, the less you want it.

If you make a commerical product, you're asking for criticism... as a potential customer, I get to comment as I see fit. While i could certainly be wrong about Cardinal Sin being a parody, I'm sure Executioner isn't about 'Brian Underpants'. You gonna tell me Brown Starfish isn't a parody next?
If it was free, I'd agree 100% with your implication that it's not nice to criticize, and I wouldn't do so. if you want people to spend money, they're gonna tell you what they want for their hard earned money... that's the way it is.

I 100% agree. But you aren't criticizing anything in the set. You are making things up and criticizing that.
Potential customers don't make things up then declare in big capital letters their own lies are "EXACTLY" why they've never bought a Z set. Potential customers don't assume things then point fingers and accuse people of doing bad or mean things. Potential customers ask questions. "Is Cardinal Sin a parody card? Are there any cards like this? Is Mr. Vegas making a card of himself?" The answers are of course, no. If you really are interested in the set, ask questions.
