- Doc Strongbow's News Update. -
Good evening and welcome fans.
Just days after the excitement of Shakedown, its good to see our new commissioner flexing his muscles. With Wolf suspended for one card, seems that Mr Carter is laying down the law.
Now, I'd like to make an apology on behalf of the GWF. As you no doubt noticed Ram failed to make his debut at Shakedown. There are still a few issues to be ironed out with his transfer from the AWA.
The good news is that we expect a resolution within the next few weeks, however it now seems likely that his current ring name will remain the property of the AWA. We are however working on a compromise.
With our champions all retaining their belts at Shakedown things are much as they were. Commissioner Carter is yet to confirm that Thantos will get the title shot he wants next, but it seems likely that it will be the case.
As ever, I'll keep you informed of any news as we get it.
- Singles Bout -
Renegade vs. Splatter
Splatter defeated Renegade with a HATCHET JOB at 7:01
Match Rating: 2.75
Match Notes: Splatter may have lost his title shot at Shakedown, but he put on a good performance here. He took control early and never let up.
Renegade failed to put together any meaningful attack, he was just unable to get himself into the match at all.
The newcomer, Splatter, showed his violent nature as he romped to victory. He failed to show a coherent line of assault, it was that unpredictability that seemed to give him the upper hand.
- Singles Bout -
Proteus vs. Massacre
Proteus defeated Massacre with a Roll-up at 10:37
Match Rating: 2.50
Match Notes: These two tag experts put on a decent performance here, a high intensity bout that showcased their obvious dislike for one another.
The result could have gone either way to be fair, it was only when Massacre missed with a wild Ax-Handle that Proteus was able to catch the Gladiator in a roll-up.
Massacre was furious with himself at the bell and clearly had plenty more fight left in him.
- Tag Team Bout -
TitanPower vs. Beauty and the Beast
Lord Nexus defeated The Creeper with a TITAN DROP at 11:51
Match Rating: 3.50
Match Notes: The Titans worked well in this encounter, showing a real sense of unity that they're going to need to continue if they want to really thrive in the tag ranks.
The team of Vanity and The Creeper may not be the sternest of tests, but its certain that Nexus and Boxer will take a great deal of encouragement from this win.
- Singles Bout -
Comrade Terror vs. Beast-Rider
Comrade Terror defeated Beast-Rider with a Deathjump at 0:22
Match Rating: 0.50
Match Notes: This was a complete non event.
Comrade Terror dominated from first to last. A couple of moves and then a deathjump, this one is in the books.
A blink or you'll miss it damp squib of a bout.
- Singles Bout -
Incredible Badger vs. Ghengis Khan
Ghengis Khan defeated Incredible Badger with a TWIN THRUST at 18:04
Match Rating: 4.00
- Tag Team Bout -
Bloodline vs. Norse Gods
Omega defeated Man-Mountain with a Cosmic war dance at 4:12
Match Rating: 2.00
Match Notes: Omega and his son put on quite the show, they worked in unison to take a simple win.
Star Warrior seems to agree to a team-up with his father on occasion, it looks unlikely that they have much of a future in the tag league, equally its not expected that they make a run on the titles.
- Singles Bout -
Adam Blast vs. Exo-King
Adam Blast defeated Exo-King with a MEGABLAST at 12:12
Match Rating: 4.25
Match Notes: This bout brought the crowd to its feet in a chorus of cheers as the young Adam Blast took a fantastic victory.
Exo-King started the better of the two and it looked like he had the match under control as he locked in his DEATH VISE, somehow Adam survived and continued to show tremendous heart and courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
When Blast got his chance, he took it well but needed three MEGABLASTS to get the three count.
The popular young man enjoyed his victory and celebrated long after the bell had sounded.
- Singles Bout -
Mesmer vs. Invincible Krakan
Mesmer defeated Invincible Krakan with a BLACKOUT at 1:27
Match Rating: 1.00
Match Notes: This main event match was over almost before it had begun.
Krakan started on the offensive before he missed with a running shoulder charge. As he stumbled back, Mesmer nearly got the pin with an Eye blinder.
The reprieve for Krakan was short lived as he immediately found himself the victim of a BLACKOUT.
Such a disappointingly easy win for Mesmer.
Overall Card Rating: 2.56
