I agree about Forever Evil. I have mild interest in the weekly books, and what they do with Dick Grayson, but that's about it.

I'm trying Future War for Batman Beyond. I have zero interest in the Batman weekly. I may try the Earth Two one if they actually stop making Earth Two about the God damned Batman...

I finished my Brubaker run on Cap through Comixology this weekend. 37 issues for $37.

I have to get that at some point, I have a few issues of it.
Read the 1st couple Lone Wolf and Cub trades yesterday...got 3 more that I own... I can't recall why I didn't keep getting these back in the day, they're really good.
I'm trade-waiting on the DC weekly series... I'll almost definitely get Future's end eventually (love Terry McGinnis), unless they pull a bait and switch. Batman Eternal I'm happy to wait for review for.
I picked up a big chunk of Fraction's Iron Man run (the stuff I didn't have in trades) for $1 each at a store in New Hampshire yesterday, so that was pretty exciting.. just missing some of the Civil War era, and I think 5 or 6 from the 70s to have from 100 of the original series up.

I thought the Fraction Iron Man was a little slow out of the gate but was completely awesome by the end.

Yeah, I like the Mandarin stuff (thought the rings as little aliens bugs me)... I've heard nothing by bad things about Fear Itself, but Iron Man Vs. Magical Destroyer Armor sounds pretty sweet to me, so I'm excited to read that.

Yeah, crossovers aren't Fraction's strength. He needs a book like Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy or Fantastic Four where he can toss his big ideas out there.

For anyone interested (I know Maddog posted there on occassion), the Classic comic forum on CBR has been removed.. they had some sort of event that lead them to nuke and reset the boards (kinda sad, that.. had been going for close to 20 years) Shaxper (the review guy) has started a new board, where most of the regulars of the Classic forum have already moved to: classiccomics.boards.net/Looks like it'll be a great set up, so feel free to head over there for all your classic comics needs

While I was in Australia I made it a point to go to an actual comic book store and pick up some books. Read the new Hulk #1 and a recent Nova. Both were decent. Also picked up the new Ghost Rider. Jury is still out on that one.
On the comixology app I downloaded the first two trades for the new Thunderbolts. Love them so far.
Hate what Comixology has done to the app though. They got bought out by Amazon and the first thing Amazon did was remove the in-app Store. They did it to cut apple out of their profits but I believe they have shot themselves in the foot. They have now added an extra step in buying books (you have to do it through the website) and it's way more clunky that the in-app way. They are taking a drubbing in iTunes reviews because of it. It'll be interesting to see if they stick to their guns or reinstate the store.

On Android there's still in-app purchases.
I got a $5 gift certificate from them.

On Android there's still in-app purchases. I got a $5 gift certificate from them. Yeah. This was just Amazon cutting Apple out. They removed them from google as well. I also got the $5 credit. To me it's all about ease. It was so easy to buy comic books inside the app. Now you have to go on the website, buy the comic, then go back into the app and download it and read it. Now, that's possible to do and there are kids in the world who don't have food, so it's really a third world problem. But, to me, it just doesn't make sense to remove an easy customer experience and replace it with a more cumbersome one. Anyway, I'll shut up.

I'm pretty sure those starving kids have much bigger shit to worry about.

I don't know if anyone here listens to Comic Geek Speak but Jamie D on that show passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer yesterday.
