A serious question.........Is Twilight more of a "woman's series"? When the movie came out for Twilight, over half the women at my work were ecstatic and were going to see the movie right away. And all the guys either never heard of it (like me) or didn't give a shit about it. More of a women's series. My wife has taken me to them. The first one was okayish. The second one was fucking god awful. My main problem is that the writer is fairly incompetent and it's painfully obvious from even the movies. Her biggest flaw is she constantly breaks the rules that she establishes for her universe. It's the same thing as the source material for Tru Blood, just less sex and weaker writing than the Sookie books. It's not as bad as Anne Rice shit. Off that topic. Coven Black is essentially Edward Cullen from the Twilight series. Which is why I've advocated so strongly for Rotunda to go goth and become a Coven fan girl. I got the cards in the mail and my wife pointed Coven out almost immediately for his inspiration.

The True Blood books are decent, at least the one or two... if you have low expectations and remember that the author clearly wrote them as a personal fantasy... they have some interesting bits in that are (sadly)largely ignored to ensure plenty of sex, violence and romance.

I’ve always considered myself an extremely minor figure in the community. I haven’t made a whole lot of enemies, my main role in most of the forum debates is to call someone Hitler and then leave. My only time of prominence was when I was briefly a moderator for the Official Boards (back when they were run by committee, rather then a Paint-ocracy), a position I took mostly as a favor to BDS, as he wanted a Legends player overseeing that section of the boards; though since Legends players as a rule play pretty well with others, I spent most of my time enforcing the maximum signature image size rule that was so unpopular at the time. My point being, that I don’t have any personal issues with any of the members of the community, and if they have a personal problem with me I don’t know it. There are a handful of people who I’ve met through the FG online community who I consider true and genuine friends. Turkish, for example, came to my wedding. There are others, who while the bonds of friendship aren’t as deep, I genuinely like and, if I ever met them in person, I would be happy to have lunch with them and shoot the breeze. Everyone else, I’m indifferent too. I wish them well, in that I wish them no specific harm. But…. I could never imagine spending the time or money to travel across the country to upstate New York to attend G-Con. It has nothing to do with the people, It’s just too much trouble for too little perceivable reward. Maybe your situation is different. Maybe cost, time, and distance are no issue to you. But that’s why I’d never do the G-Con thing. But if anyone from the community ever make their way through Dallas and want to meet up, I’m always open to it.

You know who else would have said something like this? Hitler. It's true. Hitler notoriously never attended a single G-Con.

He's afraid to go to Galacticon and be overwhelmed by the coolness and good looks of the attendees. However, rumor has it that John Wayne Gacy attended the first Galacticon and had a great time.

Can I invoke Godwin's Law on Antimony and end the thread, or does that slip through the cracks in some sort of internet legality loophole?
