If the vast majority of rolls in a game are on the pitcher's card, then there probably would be less offense. But at the same time, if you have a crappy pitcher out there, that will give you lots of runs. It all evens out in the end. All this offense, a lot came off the pitcher's card in these last two games. These two games with 17 and 13 runs are like real life, it doesn't happen a whole lot.

I feel like when I've played strat in the past it was often low scoring... but that could have been the season. (late 80s.. not sure which) Definitely very cool stuff.. I'm enjoying it as well

Here is the roster for the new Baseball Heroes set. I want to get this some time. When I do I'll setup another league/tourney with them the HOF and Negro League sets.
These cards, the HOF and the Negro League sets take the seven best years of the player's career, the numbers are averaged, and those are the stats used to make the card.

The Baseball Heroes set is well worth the money, especially if you were a big baseball fan during the late 80's and 90's. Randy Johnson's card is outstanding.

Game 4
Post Americans 2, Centurians 1
Post Americans 010 000 001 - 2 3 0 Centurians 000 000 100 - 1 7 1
WP: Fingers (1-1) LP: Willis (0-2) HR: Williams (4)
After tons of offense the last games, we revert back to great pitching in game four. Ted Williams hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth to give the Post Americans a 2-1 win and even the series at two games apiece.
In the second, Carlton Fisk hit a two-out double. Sam Crawford dropped a fly ball in rightfield to give the Post Americans a 1-0 lead.
Jake Beckley singled in the seventh and Roger Bresnahan tripled to tie the game in the seventh. Nolan Ryan got out of the jam with the game still tied 1-1.
Ryan went seven for a no-decision. Rube Waddell threw seven for a no-decision, allowing two hits and fanning six. Vic Willis took the loss, Rollie Fingers the win.
Game Notes: Honus Wagner had a 1-19 HR ballpark effect in the first and rolled a 20. Williams' HR was another ballpark effect at the Polo Grounds.

That Baseball Heroes set is an interesting mix.. mostly guys that were good, but not great, but had long successful careers.
Kinda an odd number though.. not quite enough for 6 teams.. but a bit too many for 5.
Love the ballpark effects... I played a fair amount of Sherco back in the day just for that.

I play computer but I've migrated back to C&D. I feel the new seasons have too many homers and that offenses need the long ball too much. The C&D seem to produce better stats to me.

Yeah I hear ya, but it's hard to find other with the "nerd hobbies". I am lucky that my father and I get to play a few weekends a month (at least recently) b/c my wife and I will bring our daughter to my parent's house and we will spend the day with them. Well, my daughter is not walking or crawling yet, so my dad and I play while she is sleeping or eating or so. It was cool when my brother was home, because we would play as well....but I think he used his magic dice rolling abilities from his years of gaming (like D&D) to help the Mets down the Yankees in the world series. { ljacone}

How is the 'lite' computer version? It's a real good price .. does it have stat stuff? The web site is pretty un-helpful.
It looks like the 'full' version does roster management and the rest, which is nice, but for $20 instead of $50 you could leave it off.
I really enjoy playing with cards and dice, but I'm a big stat guy.. and having the computer do that for ya is a big plus, IMO.
