Dodgers second baseman Junior Gilliam and shortstop Pee Wee Reese hit back to back home runs in the bottom of the third making the score Yankees 5 Dodgers 4. Hank Bauer hits his second home run of the game in the 7th giving the Yankees a two run lead. The Dodgers rally in the bottom of the 8th scoring 4 runs on RBI singles by Robinson, Campenella, and Furillo. Hank Bauer hits his third home run of the game in the top of the 9th.
