Hockey is fun, but the games due take some time until you get really used to playing them. I don't have the right play area and I need an organized approach to line changes. I think I might buy extra action card decks so I don't have to stop and shuffle between periods.

It does but I'm trying to figure out how to do as little shuffling around as I have to during game time. I really need a longer play area. I never have a good set up for my chart or the lines for line changes.

Yeah I've got my strato baseball cards and charts taking over the kitchen table. But I live alone so it's ok.

I've got all my spread sheets set up so I can track my stats. I'm hoping to do Ottawa at Montreal today. And then maybe squeeze in Florida at Philadelphia on Sunday. We'll see how it goes.

Ottawa Senators (0-1-0): 0 at Montreal Canadiens (1-0-0): 1 (OT)
The Senators managed just 15 shots on goal during the first two periods of play but their defense kept the game tied at 0. Ottawa came out firing in the third period with 16 shots on goal (compared to the 15 total for the first 2 periods) but couldn't get any past goalie Andy Moog. The game went to overtime and Mark Recchi caught his own rebound and put one past Damian Rhodes to give the Canadiens a 1-0 win in overtime.
The third line matchup was an absolute nightmare for the Senators in this game. The Canadiens managed 12 of the total 37 shots on goal. Alexei Yashin was noticeable quiet as he only had a single shot on goal.
Andy Moog made 31 saves on his way to the first shutout of the season. Damian Rhodes made 36 saves in a losing effort.
W - Andy Moog (1-0-0) L - Damian Rhodes (0-1-0)

Florida Panthers (0-0-1): 2 at Philadelphia Flyers (0-0-1): 2 OT
The Flyers came out of their home opener with a bit of a disappointment as the Florida Panthers battled them to a 2-2 draw.
Ray Sheppard scored early in the 1st period to put Florida on top 1-0. Rod Brind-Amour scored a powerplay goal in the 2nd period to tie things up at 1. The Flyers came out aggressively in the 3rd and Eric Lindros managed to score a goal early to put the Flyers up 2-1. Florida wouldn't give up though and managed to tie things up at 2 with a goal from Scott Mellanby. No one else could get one in the net and both teams settled for a point here.
Ron Hextall made 37 saves on 39 shots while his counter-part John Vanbiesbrouck had 34 saves on 36 shots.
