Based off of the article in the Sports Illustrated baseball preview issue, my father and I decided to play the 2003 World Series with the Cubs making it from the NL versus the Yankees (who actually made the Series and lost to Florida). The article is an interesting read and it is fantasy, so take it as it is. Here is the article. I will be posting results this weekend. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1183856/index.htm

I think the Cubs being in the World Series already implied it was fake. No need to restate it.

WP: Mussina (1-0) LP: Prior (0-1) HR: NYY: Giambi (2), J. Rivera (2) {GS: 2} Game Notes: Mike Mussina faced the minimum (27), as the only runner to reach base (single in the 4th) was erased by a double play. Mussina and Prior both struck-out 10 each. Juan Rivera hit his second Grand Slam of the World Series in the 6th inning. In real life, this game would be considered one of the greatest pitching performances in World Series history.

Wow, that a crazy good start for the Yankees. Even in pretend land the Cubbies can't get it together

The dice were just with the Yanks when we played these games. Things can always change!
