I'm sure this thread would not be O_board approved, so lets try it here:
In GWFZT whose who? Some are easy Big Superstar is Hogan, Blade is Razor Ramon, etc. I figured a list like this would be helpful for people.

We can also do this for the other sets as well, if you want.

I was thinking Natural Man Bobby Roberts was based on "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, and not Flair. But could be wrong on that. Also Blitz I believe is based on Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews. The art looks a lot like him, and the jersey has the same # and everything.

I'm not seeing a Ric Flair influence in Bobby Roberts. I haven't seen the card yet, but to me it's not there in the drawing.
Obviously Ram Jam is based on Randy The Ram. A sort of obscure one is Carson P Century from the last Z set being based on D-list Marvel comics villain Turner D Century.
Anyway, most of these are noted homages so I'm not sure why this topic wouldn't fly on any board you wanted to post it on. Also, I really wish tomorrow was not a national holiday, simply because that would mean I'd be one day closer to having this set in my hands.

Not really a "clone" per say, but the Virus character I believe was named for the main villain in the Nick Cage movie "Con-Air" which was named Cyrus The Virus. I asked Werner a month or so ago about Fringe because to me the art looks like WWF version of "Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman. He says if it does, its purely coincidental. He didn't really think it looked like him, but to me it was almost a dead ringer. Could be off base on that, who knows.

I was thinking the same thing as CC about Roberts mostly because of the name. Two more from the new set Chuck The Roo -Chuck Liddel and The Man In Black Johnny Cash. Also forgot Darth Books, Darth Pelvis, and Umapotomaus

The funny thing with Chuck is that I originally named him Roger the Roo but there's a Tekken character named that. And then I thought the Liddell mohawk on a kangaroo would be funny so I named him Chuck the Roo. The Liddell stuff just kind of happened as he developed. My earliest idea for him was a very cartoon like kangaroo with MMA gloves. He just slowly became Chuck Liddell over time and thought.
