Managerbot 4000 is HERBIE from the Fantastic Four cartoon in the late 70s.

Obvious one we missed... Dr. Red Fang. I dont know about that one. Doctor Red Fang was a fictional card included with the superstar pro wrestling game back in the 1980's. I heard a few times it was inspired by the creator's dog

Dr. Red Fang is still Dr. Red Fang though. He was thrown in there for people that used to play Superstar Pro Wrestling.

According to Swarm's board, Stunning Steph is based on Macho Man's former girlfriend/manager Gorgeous George. If you do a search for her picture, its not really hard to figure out what picture they based the art on.

Managerbot 4000 is HERBIE from the Fantastic Four cartoon in the late 70s. You are probably right on that, but when I saw the art in the book I was thinking R.O.B. The Robot from my original NES system! ;D

Google HERBIE and you'll see it's him.

Yes, the Managerbot almost a duplicate of HERBIE from the Fantastic Four cartoon. Interesting television urban legend note (that most probably know), but he supposedly replaced Human Torch in that series because network execs were worried kids would see Torch and try to light themselves on fire (!) to emulate him!
(truth is Human Torch was optioned for another project that never happened)

I loved playing that game and think it's cool to have Doctor Red Fang in the GWFZ. I just meant that he wasn't based on a real person. I wonder what the creator would think if he knew someone took the time to recreate Red Fang 25-30 years later

Is that guy even still around? I've seen some a few things on the Superstar Pro Wrestling yahoo group about trying to contact him and getting no reply. I guess he's still alive though

Yep...I did the Simple Perfection team with Olympus (pic of Steiner) and "Stunning" Steph (w/ Georgeous George).... figure that they will fall on the wayside like DSC did and I am alright with that....

I have big plans for Olympus. Strong has a lot of Steiner's Big Pappa Pump personality and Olympus is going to have some serious problems with that.
I wish Dark Star Creature had stayed in the GWFZ. He really was a lot of fun and has had really good feuds for me.

I asked Werner a month or so ago about Fringe because to me the art looks like WWF version of "Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman. He says if it does, its purely coincidental. He didn't really think it looked like him, but to me it was almost a dead ringer. Could be off base on that, who knows. Fringe's art was based off Brad Pitt's character of Jeffrey in the movie 12 Monkeys. A bandana on the head was removed since it didn't look right and placed on the jacket (which the jacket was meant to replicate Edge's jacket) and the finished product looks a lot like Edge all around, minus the facial hair. Being my favorite wrestler I didn't mind at all, of course. Pillman as the Loose Cannon was one of my favorite characters of all time , however the art was not based off Pillman.

Just trying to figure it out.
