With my Strat-o-Matic Sets on the way, I'll start my thread. I've decided on 12 teams because 16 would probabaly have been too tight rosterwise.
The teams will represent the following cities New York St Louis Oakland Boston Los Angeles San Francisco Cincinnati Pittsburgh Detroit Chicago Philadelphia Atlanta
I will have a draft where I randomly select and have seperate snake format to draft two C's, 1B/3B, SS/2B, OF, sub, and P. I will have each city lean toward local players but won't make it exclusive in order to attempt to make the teams even, ie Pittsburgh draws the #1 OF pick, they're not passing on Babe Ruth to take Roberto Clemente. However, I'll get more liberal to get a home town feel when we come to the subs and the later round pitchers.
The tournament will give 4 teams byes, the first round matchups will be best of five, subsequent series' will be best of seven. The first HCBS will be a random draw but future ones will be based on seeding based on the previous years success.
The Inaugural tournament sees Detroit, Oakland, New York, and Cincinnati getting first round byes. First round matchups are as follows:
Pittsburgh vs Atlanta Los Angeles vs Philadelphia Boston vs St Louis San Francisco vs Chicago
After a champion is crowned, each team will randomly lose a yet to be determined # of players and the worst team of the tournament will lose their place and all their players will go into the repopulation draft. Another city will get a chance to enter as the #12 seed and a draft will take place to fill their roster and repopulate the rosters of the other teams.
I'm not posting my drafte results but will post synopsis' of each series with a brief recap of each game. I might brief results as I go on because it'll be hard to play more than one or two games a night.

Lots of Homers Whenever I see anything about John Smoltz I always get aggravated the Tigers gave up on him when he was coming up. Granted, Doyle Alexander did his weird September thing and helped them to a pennant, but still not a good trade in hindsight... almost as bad as the Sox trading Jeff Bagwell for Larry Andersen.

10 games in and I'm doubting whether I'll wind up finishing. I'm in the process of my tenth game and Boston leads 13-0 in the sixth inning. It's the third time in 10 games that one team had a ridiculous amount of runs. These games were blow outs early and I'm just wanting them to be over and they keep scoring and scoring and scoring.

Yeah, that's quite a few crazy blow outs...I've had two games like that out of six myself... I'm thinking the the way the game is set up the good hitting overcomes good pitching.
It's a pretty small sample, though, so I'm hoping that it's just a couple high scoring games.
