On a positive note.......here's what I posted about Council Of War on another board.
Since there's a thin line between "modify profile" and "delete account" I can't post this on the official board right now, but I'll share a few quick thoughts about Council Of War here instead.
Rotating commissioner: I like this idea a lot. Making Shoot an option is sort of random to me, but I suppose it's a way to justify some MMA style matches being scheduled (maybe even entire cards under those rules).
Monolith returns: I love the new offense, I'm not sure how well I like the defense. He's still awesome but he's definitely feeling the effects of the injury. I can work with this new attitude better than the old one.
death of a legend: I suppose it had to happen eventually. This doesn't really have any storyline implication but it does add some heat to the debut of "Star Warrior". I made the first event of 2126 the "Omega Memorial" held under "Galactic Code" rules and featuring a Omega Cup tournament (yes, I already rolled, or the online equivalent, the first card of the new year).
Vampire wars: This is nicely written, even if I'm not a fan of the genre. The personal aspect of the feud does lend it's self well to the GWF universe.
New Infinity Challenge rules: drastic improvement. The team format and points system will help keep things organized.
She Devil: she sure gets around, doesn't she? She's the Kelly Kelly of the GWF.
Leveler: He's going to make a real difference in the Gladiators' matches. This guy is better than the Guardsman, without a doubt.
The Council Of War team: I don't like the idea of Paganax being stuck in a tag team, so his team with Tharkus will be a part-time deal. Fans of aCe will find the team interesting on several levels from a backstory perspective. Patch could finally get a chance to really step up out of the shadow of Sly Drury.
FDF Reserves: Swarm really gets disrespected here by Endgame making newcomer PSI the leader. PSI is way better than his stats would seem to indicate. They'll have a pretty great feud with the Legends.
Legends: One of the headlines is about Hector "going rogue". When was he NOT rogue? He's an agitator. Bishop is used in a much better way this year as part of this team. I like the idea that the other two may be playing but Bishop is really serious about his persona. That's a nice touch.
Overtime: I like everything about this card. The art is incredible, it's enhanced by some really great colors, and the stats and moveset are cool. Seriously, the color scheme really makes him stand out visually.
Random thoughts:
-Encubus really went out with a whimper, not a bang.
-After being the focal point of a few editions Mother Superior and Sultana (and especially Sultana) are now seriously downgraded to background status. We never did get that reveal about the past history between the two. At least Mother Superior gets an interesting new story with her trying to hold together another fractured "brother" duo. This woman has family issues.
Skwish: Plethador's cousin will add the comedic relief this year. This is cute and it elevates Plethador's card (a little) so he can be somewhat more competitive.
- I don't get why Ensor would be unhappy with his new position. I see him as a team guy who would do whatever it takes for the team. I see Vidtek as being lucky to still have a job.
- The Outsiders sure aren't Hall and Nash. I continue to be amazed that Scimitar is still around. This trio of malcontents will never work as a team. They're more like a loose group of wresters no one else could get along with. I will have fun putting these guys on the undercard and having them find ways to blame each other for their losses.
- new Star Warrior is several different levels of great. He'll be a fun character to use.
I like it. Other than a few nagging questions about what exactly Sultana is doing in the GWF and why Scimitar and Vidtek still have jobs (kind of a lighthearted one) , I'm really pleased with this expansion.
