Yeah, I think a lot of guys don't understand "just because you can do a move doesn't mean you should do a move." Especially with what we know about concussions these days, they should be trying to protect each other. But we seem to have a bitchfest about that every couple of months.
Columbus has the show on 3 times over the weekend. Our Fox affliate plays it at 5 pm Saturday and 12 am on Sunday. The CW affliate plays it at 11 pm Saturday. That seems really counter productive. I'll probably start watching when Styles starts appearing on tv. Though the online streaming is still not fun.

I liked this mornings episode with RD Evans, Matt Taven in action and the World Title buildup... I'm glad to see someone else gets the show in the ridiculously early timeslot. The top prospect match was good too. That guy Ray Rowe has a lot of upside, but that move he finishes with is a prime example of how guys just do not protect their opponents like they used to. I hear a lot of this "guys back in the day weren't as athletic because they couldn't do (x)" or "they didn't do (y) type moves back in the old days". Well hell, it's because they had some freaking respect for the other guy's well being (for the most part). Lifting a dude in a full nelson slam and hitting a knee strike to the back is not safe, and there's no way to protect in that situation. It looks cool sure, but there's no way he'd get away with doing that [crap] if he was working with someone night in and night out. Besides that, I like Rowe. Also, Bobby Fish may be the most criminally underrated guy in wrestling today. The match between him and the real world champ Jay Briscoe alone makes the show worth going out of the way to see, in my slanted and biased opinion. I didn't care for Rowe as of that match, but that was my first match seeing him and I'll pass judgement with his next bout. Bobby Fish is a favorite of mine and his promo before his match with Jay is solid and he is solid in the ring...

I have to hand it to RoH. They've been putting on a product that I actually want to watch this year.

It's a shame their costumer service has been complete shit in the past month or so. Took them nearly two weeks to mail my tickets to NYC and to get any update on my order I had to call SBG themselves and explain the situation and that I wanted to talk to someone in merch at ROH because they didn't answer the phone or emails. Then, I order the 12th Anniversary Show on DVD and ask them for a tracking number (by the way, on the order page there's a section for a tracking number that never gets updated) and I don't get one, just that my order shipped.
They're producing a lot of good stuff lately, but this is ShopTNA levels of bullshit.

How hard is it to do customer service at even a mediocre level?

I kind of hated that Styles/Elgin match. You could feel them killing time to get to the draw.

I kind of hated that Styles/Elgin match. You could feel them killing time to get to the draw. That's usually how it goes in a time limit draw. I liked the last ten or so minutes. When the 12th Anniversary Show gets here, I'll have the uncut match on DVD so I can see it with no commercials. As it stands, that's likely not a match that's going to be on my MOTY list by the time we get to say, August or so. Just dawned on me I've got 36 matches on my list for this year. Won't be long before I have an actual top 40.

It got better towards the last ten minutes. It seemed like they had a really good 14 minute match that they drug out. The crowd chanting this is awesome was a little ridiculous but those RoH/TNA crowds always do that. I also thought Adam Cole didn't add anything on commentary.
Things like the Brutal Burgers team and RD Evans have really made the product better. It lightens things up.

I'd argue them having clean finishes on TV and not focusing on hokey bullshit like they were when the buck stopped with Cornette helped the product more. RD Evans is the man though.

The product definitely is better with Cornette's outdated philosophy completely purged from the company.

AJ/Elgin is pretty much what you'd expect with the commercial breaks left in tact. Really solid match but the first 2/3 of the match pretty much beats you over the head with the fact they're going Broadway. Very good match, probably ***1/2 or ***3/4. Like I said, not gonna last that long on my MOTY list.
ACH/TD Thomas vs. reDRagon from the Anniversary Show might be the best performance I've seen from both teams, though. Excellent match with minimal false finishes and a lot of drama without going too insane.

I finally got to see like the whole 90 minute Cornette thing. His statement that people would rather see Mike Bennett and Matt Hardy than the Smash Brothers is retarded. No one has ever paid money to see Mike Bennett wrestle... EVER.
He talked about how the tv was getting big ratings in West Virginia and he did all this local stuff for it. The market was really hot for it, so they do a show there and they charge $60 for front row and $20 for general admission and priced themselves out of the market.
My biggest problem with his take on things is his insistence that the booking was fine. All that iPPV shit hurt the company but it was wrapped up with shitty booking. No one wanted to see Davey Richards and his butt buddies doing worked MMA. The tv was super repetitive. And Cornette really made bad use of the talent he had.
I also think it's funny how he had something against Grizzly Redwood. He acts like there can't be any comedy in wrestling at all. Well, even his idol Bill Watts used comedy in Mid-South. Comedy has been in wrestling for a long time. I think it's funny how he acts like Grizzly Redwood would hurt the product. But if you listened to Grizzly on Colt's podcast he never got a reaction until he started the Grizzly character.
It was Cornette so he's always interesting to listen to. An interesting side note they had Cornette and Russo on separate Guest Bookers doing the Invasion and Russo actually created a better Invasion while Cornette showed how out of touch he is.
Cornette was surprisingly not as bitter as I thought he would sound. This was the Breaking Kayfabe one if anyone is interested.

Cornette's booking of the InVasion was horrrrrrrrible. "We'll take it back to how it was in the 80s" because that's gonna work after THE FUCKING ATTITUDE ERA.
