The Pepper Gomez card and his rare ability to "no sell" stomach moves made me think that there is one other wrestler on LOW who NEEDS this game mechanic: Road Warrior Hawk. How many hundreds of times over the years did Hawk take a piledriver and then get right back up before the opponent could even turn around? If it gets rolled in a match I usually have the opponent use a suplex or something because I can't even imagine Hawk being hurt by a piledriver.
I propose the following: "Whenever an opponent uses a 'piledriver' on Raod Warrior Hawk, Hawk automatically takes over on level 2 offense. If the piledriver is the opponent's finisher, Hawk takes over on level 1 offense instead."

Great Idea. I actually use this myself. I always wondered why he didnt have that as a special but it is solid. Good call and good topic!

Yes Hawk would stand up after the PD a lot, but there were plenty of times where it also did the damage. Using this and the Gomez examples we could go through and any Samoan wrestler or several others with a headbutt as a main move could also be listed as not being hurt by a head butt. My stance would be not to start this with Hawk's card.

My stance would be not to start this with Hawk's card. I can't remember any time when he actually got hurt with a piledriver. Let me know if you have a specific example in mind, because I'm drawing a blank. The truth is, you do have to take creative liberties, either with the way a wrestler takes a move or changing the move delivered, to play this game. For example, all of throws and slams that would never work against Bundy you would have to explain away to make a more realistic game out of it. A game mechanic where a guy of a certain size can't be slammed or suplexed by a guy with less than x pw rating would do the trick. There are really a lot of stipulations and rules that could go into effect for all of the variables, but at some point it could bog down the speed and spirit of the game.

I always thought the same but again if you start giving speical rules to one you ultimately have to do it for everyone that had some sort of gimmick move or moment which can get pretty rules heavy. I say use it as needed or when it lends itself to it. Like a big Supercard event and the like. I usually say Hawk just stands up when he rolls a HAWK reversal on a piledriver or devastating move as it is relevant to my write ups and to the telling of my story based off of my rolls/matches.
But a very good thought and nice to see this brought up.

Tell that to Tim, Chad, and company. They started it with the Pepper Gomez card! It's all their fault! Why didn't Pepper just sell the stomach? Why? WHy? wHY? ....okay, I'm over it now.
