I happen to like the three fakers. Thantos and Star Warrior are cool. Love Bishop Hell II. It's just not the three fakers I'm talking there's also been guys like Killprey (Bounty Hunter) U.S Male (Adam Blast), and Tricks ( Mad Jester) to name a few. I like New Beginnings but the more I play the older sets the less I'm interested in the new ones I think U.S. Male was his own deal really. Tricks, I enjoyed him until he became a Joker ripoff.

I agree, too, but that's some killer art.
One problem, though... Hellfire stronger? That makes me worry about power creep.

Tricks was more fun before the Joker motif, for sure.
Power Creep definitely seems to be a theme....with the whole Black Death power-up. Also, it does make me wonder if this will be all heels or not....where the heroes and villains battle the BLack Death people...

Tom did say at GalactiCal that ALL of the 2127 cards feature the Black Death symbol, so it could be. Of course someone could have the Black Death symbol crossed out on their card, too.

Tricks was more fun before the Joker motif, for sure... Tricks first card sucked. He was terrible. But his drawing made him more "fun"? Huh??

I've never liked Tricks, personally, I think he went from a Mad Jester rip off to a Joker rip-off.

Cool picture but I prefer to focus on my 2088 fed where the real Star Warrior and Bishop hell are feuding. Anyone else tired of all the retread characters in new beginnings ? That's great that you prefer to focus on a game that came out in 1988, but for most people the legends team seems to be a nice, nostalgic trip to the past for promoters who grew up fans of Bishop Hell and others, and haven't used them in almost 25 years. Most people don't use the cards from 1988 forever. In short, new Bishop Hell not really designed for people playing 2088 so I understand your point, but try to do the same and understand why the character is again so popular in 2011.

I still dont understand how a bee had a mantis though Some of us worked this out a while back. In order for Swarm to have had a Mantis, he needed to mate with a crab-woman. Of course, that's assuming Swarm is an actual Ani-Man and not a regular human under the mask who happens to live on Andromeda, in which case, the mother would probably be a black widow spider-woman. (Preemptive note: I am totally serious about this, and not trying to take a shot at anyone, nor criticize anything about the game.)

See, I've always thought that maybe animen start out sort of blank and then imprint on a totem animal at some point, kinda like Transformer...

I don't mind it if it's not overkill. If its a new guy every set, that would be too much While I haven't gotten the past few editions since I play Legends, the only thing in recent times that has gotten me to say, eh With all the crazy aliens, whatever in the GWF, would a wrestler really be bothered by a guy with one eye?! (Patch) And the whole Marmus - Vallah storyline was just dropped, a storyline that threaten to actually destroy the galaxy, not the GWF. But the next edition, guys were still traveling back and forth thru dimensions with no ramifications. Would, in hindsight, to be a waste to play those editions since the stipulations meant nothing. I never made it to that edition, but really don't know if I'd enjoy it because you knew who was winning. Most loved the Gladiator Civil War, but I didn't. Same reason...you knew the Vaguard team was winning. But eh, only a few complaints over 22 years isn't bad

I understand what you're saying . My GWF playing worked the opposite of a lot of people's. I played New Beginnings first and then tried out the older sets. I can really get in to the older sets a lot more than the new ones but that's just me.

The problem with sorting out the Ani-Men isn't Tom's fault... races of Animal Men have been around fiction for a LONG time, and there's never been a logical explanation of them... it's one of those things you just have to not think about much I agree with Trav about the realms and such... the whole thing with that and the dimension hopping has been very 60s comic book-y... the story changes every time it needs to in order to accomodate writing that ignored it. I was sorta hoping this Black Death story might tie all that stuff up, but that would require the GWF story to use/overlap/expand on aCe, and I'm pretty sure that's not gonna happen.
