I guess I'm the only one that actually liked the slightly cartoony/mangaized style for the orignal LOTF guys.
Those are good too, though.. Hero and Ewards especially needed updated just to update their look.

I liked some okay; others missed the mark. Cannon, in particular, is pretty good. Daizee, too. It is my opinion that the Bucks and Black needed work, especially the Young Bucks since the consensus was that they weren't very good likenesses. You will notice five of them stayed "as-is" so obviously the online crew didn't have a problem with them, either.
Hero, as you noted, definitely needed the upgraded look. The one used in the first LOTF set (several years ago now, as time flies by) was just about out of date the day it was released; it'd look ancient by comparison now.
I have never seen photographic evidence of Edwards looking like he did in that LOTF3 drawing. As I've stated before, I think it's a good drawing with an unfortunate source photo chosen to work from.
