Interesting offseason so far.
The Lakers get Nash and get older. They need Howard bad if they don't want to be old as hell and have a chance.
The Suns are building an interesting team post-Nash. I like the Gortat/Scola/Beasley front court and I like Dudley/Dragic. I don't think they'll make the playoffs but I think they'll be a young and exciting team to watch.
The Knicks FUBARed themselves. They got rid of Lin and pissed off their fanbase horribly. They then brought in Kidd who's washed up and a drunk, Ray Felton who might be the most hated Blazer ever and old as dirt Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas. Really not the way to take the team if you ask me.
T-Wolves have been trying to make some noise in free agency with mixed success.

Gotta pay Roy Hibbert the big bucks to disappoint at center.

I think Hibbert's legit. Collison could be one of those guys that falls off as the league figures him out, so I don't think that's horrible.
Lin's not worth what Houston is paying ability wise, but he probably was fan wise. Not a good 'trade' to get Kidd instead.
Loved the Celtics draft.. hopefully Sulinger can play right away.. I expect Fab Melo will tear up the D league. I like getting Terry to replace Allen... he can actually back up Rondo. I didn't love the Courtney Lee move (seems like they don't need him with Jeff Green) but we'll see.

The thing with Lin is you could have always traded him when his deal got ridiculous. The stock drop and the loss of goodwill is going to cost more than Lin's contract.

Yeah, I agree with you there. It's really a mystery as to what the heck their doing over in Knick-land.
I guess the problems were deeper than Isiah Thomas being the worst GM in history.

Bill Simmons and others have said that they got rid of him because Dolan was pouting that he was actually wanting to take the better offer. So they just dumped him instead of keeping him and then thinking their way out of the situation.
I don't think Lin is going to be a megastar. But I think he can be a good guy that comes off the bench in the 3rd quarter and get you those 12-14 pts. that change the tide of a game for a team. He has value and I think the first two years of the Knicks deal was fair market for him and his skillset. The last year was ridiculous but he would have trade value as an expiring contract then.
