POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE NOTES: - HONOR president Shuji Nakagawa confirmed that Nogueira's submission of Ken Shamrock places him in the match to crown the first Honor Heavyweight Champion. He also announced Liddell-Ortiz and Penn-Pulver for the Light Heavyweight and Lightweight Championships. Dan Henderson vs. Kazushi Sakuraba is the confirmed Middleweight championship match. Georges St. Pierre is also confirmed for the inaugural Welterweight championship match.
- Regarding St. Pierre/Nogueira's opponents in said matches, Nakagawa said he will be watching the fights on HONOR 2/3 very closely to come up with Nogueira's opponent, and will be watching 2/3/4 closely for St. Pierre's opponent. When asked about particular matches of interest, Nakagawa said the winner of either Barnett/Herring, Lesnar/Cro Cop, and Fedor/Mir on HONOR 2 could end up being Nogueira's opponent.
- A pull apart brawl broke out between Ken Shamrock and Tank Abbott after a reporter asked Shamrock how the loss to Nogueira felt and Abbott replied that Shamrock was "used to being a loser". Shamrock snapped and lunged for Abbott and the two had to be separated.
- Henderson said he was impressed with Sakuraba's submission of Bob Sapp. Hendo said he looks forward to the match with Saku and hopefully it'll be a fight the fans are glad to see.
- Ortiz and Liddell had relatively little to say about each other for a change. Ortiz said he's focused on being the first light heavyweight champion, and getting the chance to beat Chuck Liddell is just a bonus. Liddell said Tito talks an enormous amount of shit and he'll have to back it up come HONOR 3.
- When asked what was next, Wanderlei Silva said he would like to fight Quinton Jackson in the near future. Nakagawa said while Wanderlei is anxious to get at his biggest rival, Wanderlei's next scheduled fight is at HONOR 4 against Ricardo Arona while Rampage's next fight is at HONOR 3 against Alistair Overeem.
- Matt Serra discussed moving up to Welterweight and hoped to make his Welterweight debut at HONOR 3 or 4. The match was then announced as Serra vs. Hughes at HONOR 4.
- A reporter asked about a possible openweight grand prix. Nakagawa said it's not in the plans currently, but wouldn't rule it out for the future.

AWARDS: Fight of the Night: Tito Ortiz vs. Alistair Overeem Knockout of the Night: Robbie Lawler Submission of the Night: Rich Franklin
POST FIGHT PRESS CONFERENCE NOTES: - Frank Trigg noted that he regretted taking the fight with Verrisimo but noted he did so because he didn't want to go an extended period of time waiting for the champion to be crowned without having a fight.
- When asked who Miller's inaugural challenger will be, Nakagawa said Robbie Lawler was the current front runner to challenge for the belt.
- It was noted that Overeem is in the hospital after the extremely dominant performance from Tito Ortiz. Overeem suffered a severe cut that prevented him from continuing and Nakagawa said that Overeem would return in September against Vitor Belfort.
- Tito Ortiz said he wants his next challenger to be a top level opponent. He said with no disrespect to Overeem, a lucky guillotine (which Tito himself almost fell victim to) is no excuse for a championship match. Ortiz also suggested that Ken Shamrock move down to Light Heavyweight for a match, to which Shamrock said "Sign me up". Rumors after the press conference is that the match will take place in February in Yokohama.
- Quinton Jackson voiced his displeasure with the fight with Ryan Gracie. Jackson said he's going to continue fighting because that's what he does and said he wants to fight on the next show. Nakagawa said that's unlikely but Rampage is slated to fight on the New Year's show in Osaka.
