Yeah, Brandi still uses the gimmick. The original has claimed he was never given permission to use the gimmick.

Exactly. If you see The Patriot and he's wrestling at all, much less like a boring jobber, it's Tom Brandi.
(in full disclosure, I'm just having fun and I really have nothing against Tom Brandi other than that he's fooling people into thinking he is/was The Patriot).

That's my problem with him. I think it's scummy but not out of the norm for wrestling.

You're right about the 'forgotten' part... I don't remember him in the WWE at all. I think of him a as a GWF guy that never made the translation successfully into the Monday Night Wars/Attitude Era.
Good to know it's on ESPN Classic again, I'll have to see if I get that again (my cable changes their mind regularly as to whether I get it or not)

ESPN Classics is like the top tier on every cable system now.
It was really brief in the WWF. He started in like mid July of 1997 and was injured and retired by November of 1997. He and Bret Hart had a program in the August/September timeframe. I think he even got a title shot against Bret on PPV.

A few years ago in 2008 The Patriot ( Tom Brandi) was at King Of Trios selling pictures and other WWF memorabilia of the real Patriot Del Wilkes including autographed pictures of Wilkes wrestling Brett Hart. I thought this was wrong on some many levels

Patriot (Del Wilkes, original and only)pdf card has been added to my site. The card represents his prime between 1996-'97. www.angelfire.com/wrestling3/legendarystarsI will not be doing a card for Johnny Gun, Sal Sincere, or Tom Brandi. As Marc Mero was once so kind to point out "Tom Brandi is a jobber".
