The next Legends expansion is due out in December. According to Tom Filsinger on twitter, stats are done and art is in progress. There's a poll going up on the official forums to pick one of the upcoming cards. I assume this is a "last man in" type of deal for '13 like has been done in the past. I figure this means discussion will heat up tonight, but otherwise it's been awful quiet on the Legends front.
Anyone want to let the random speculation and second-guessing begin ahead of the official announcements?
We already got Randy Savage, so that eliminates one favorite yearly random guess/wish. Now it's up to Lex Luger to come through for us in that department.
This could be the year for Baron Mikel Scicluna. With Savage in he's the last huge name left to get.

I'm not familiar with Scicluna, but from what I've read and seen he'd be a great addition to the game. I know that Scott Norton has been mentioned and I'd like to see him in L13...

I could be wrong but I don't think Scott Norton is signed. Be great if he is. I'm not a real big fan of polls. They seem to get people pretty riled up when who they want doesn't get in the set. Of the people I got signed there are 3 names left that would fit just fine in a Legends set. One was signed 4 years ago and the other two were three years ago so really don't know if they will be used this time around or not. Oh, make that four, there's one more female that would be for LOW.

Most of the folks I've signed have been released but I can think of three names that aren't. One, a semi decent name perfect for LOW, I got when I signed Jimmy Hart back at a WrestleReunion. The other two were recent signings at the last CWF Hollywood event. Both are bigger names (one recent, one classic), but not sure they are big enough to be released as part of a main LOW set. If they don't get out here they'd be shoo ins for the next CWFH set, if there is one.
I don't have any speculation for this set, but I'd love to see someone that Jimmy Hart is really known for managing in the '80s WWF days. I know we have the Mountie, but I'd love someone from a little earlier. Adonis (though I know he'd come in his leather jacket gimmick first), Raymond Rougeau to have the Rougeau brothers. Of course Honky Tonk Man but I know that's a long shot because of money. The Hart Foundation is a stretch, but in vein of WILD speculation I'd love to see Terry Funk. I know Tom has talked to him before and that kind of died, but perhaps with Savage there'd be new interest.
Would love to see a card for Elizabeth, even as an LE. Junkyard Dog would be great too.

That strikes me as not really leaving much of a mystery for those of us who follow the company to grapple with. Ty, three years....four years....man I hate that there are so many options just sitting on the shelf like that.

I would love Junkyard Dog. We always have Greg Valentine for an 80s guy Jimmy managed but Adrian would be incredible (one of my top 5 guys for sure) But I'm sure it would be leather jacket Adrian.
As for the polls, I don't care who makes it, but it does drive me crazy about them having guys signed for so long without putting them out.

The poll is up, and the options are: Tommy Gilbert, PN News, and AWA preliminary wrestler Jake "The Milkman" Millman. The Milkman would add a new undercard guy who would probably fit in stat-wise somewhere between Mr. X and George South. Tommy Gilbert is an interesting choice for fans of the territory days. Of course my pick is PN News because I think we need more silly early 90s gimmicks in the game.

I am not familiar with any of the names. That being said, I will sell my vote to the highest bidder. Bidding starts at $50. I accept PayPal. ;P

I'd imagine most who know Tommy Gilbert by name would just think of him as "Eddie's dad". People who watched AWA on ESPN in the 80s will remember "The Milkman" as the guy who got beat on a pretty much weekly basis. PN News is one of the legendarily bad gimmicks from WCW of the early 90s.

If it was Doug Gilbert then I would have considered voting for him. It's not so I went with PN News and early on it looks like he is going to easily win the poll.

I hate that poll because all three of those guys would have instant places in my fed. I voted for PN News though. You can just do so many things with the guy. He can win squash matches or do jobs to just about anyone on house shows or PPV. He's perfect for six man tags with the likes of Duggan, Ware, Powers, Dundee, etc. He's also a rare face fat guy which makes him a unique prospect. He has all the good of Jim Powers with the added benefit of a personality.
I could see feuds with Buddy Rose, Gorgeous George and King Kong Bundy.

Yeah, Doug Gilbert would have gotten my vote too. I would love to do Doug & Eddie Gilbert as a tag team. And getting Doug now would probably mean a Dark Patriot card in Promoter next year which would be awesome.

It should be noted that Milliman did win the decisive victory in the Team Challenge Series for the AWA.

I like Milkman and Tommy, but had to go with P.N. who I actually statted out for my Wrestlecrap bootlegs, so I'll be curious to see how they do him.
