So, as I watch Raw and they announce Batista and Del Rio have 'entered themselves' in the Rumble, I wonder... why not make it hard to get into the Rumble? How much fun would qualifying matches be?, or maybe a tournament to get #30?

They dropped qualifying matches back in 2010.

I don't remember them ever doing them, was it a one time thing?

Dude they did Rumble qualifying matches for years up until 2010 when they stopped them.

Really? I don't really remember that at all, weird. I vaguely remember a beat the clock thing, but that's it. *shrug* I guess it's not so great then, if it made so little of an impression

It's 2014 and I'm excited to see Lesnar vs. Big Show moreso than the Rumble itself. Figure that out.

Wonder if they'll be the Rumble as well. I'm thinking not... seems like they've been trying to have fewer huge monster guys in there lately.

I want to know how the whole "Brock challenges the winner of Cena vs. Orton" thing works. Is he facing them in a one-on-one match at the Chamber? I mean, that would make sense but I'm of the opinion that Brock challenging for the belt should be a WM main event.

Maybe he'll win thanks to Heyman at EC and the rematch will be at Mania?

Then what happens to the Rumble winner?

That's right, there's no 'other' title to go after... damn. Three-way? Not that exciting.
Also, they couldn't have let the Outlaws be faces for more than a week? Really? They got pops 2nd only to Bryan, does WWE just hate faces nowadays or what?

You know, kind of side related topic, but after that twitter debacle last week I think Batista may want to look up Alberto Del Rio's credentials if he wants to get serious with him on twitter. I know big Dave's testosterone levels are off the charts, but he sure is quick to want to throw down. Del Rio was an accomplished Greco Roman wrestler and qualified for the 2000 Olympics. He also has a vastly more impressive MMA career, challenging top level guys as opposed to Batista's one exhibition match where he nearly lost to the tomato can.
I mean, I like Batista as a WWE character and I like to see him back, but he does seem to have a way of being not so endearing to the rest of the locker room.
The Rumble is not very exciting to me, but maybe it looks a little more interesting following the end of RAW last night. I think we can now consider Daniel Bryan a serious contender to win again after that unfortunate side journey he took over the last few weeks seems to have been corrected.

Well to be fair, the only top level dude Del Rio faced was Cro Cop and the credit I'll give Del Rio was he lasted about twice as long as Yuji Nagata did before Cro Cop decided to Cro Cop him.
Top candidates to win the Rumble, to me, are Punk, Bryan and Batista. I'll be fine with the latter two.

Batista would just tear something and be out for the next 6 months if he tried to shoot with Del Rio.

They better come with some huge surprises this year because even after Shield/NAO were added this Rumble still looks super weak. Granted, we're 9 days out and they'll likely announce Bryan and the Wyatts on Monday but even with them this doesn't scream 'star studded Rumble' like they're going to say it does.
