I've been playing NBA 2K14 for most of today (fuck the snow) and while the gameplay is similar to 2K11, 2K12 and 2K13, this is still such a good game. They've changed some things around, now you can only shoot with the right stick instead of a button (or at least that appears to be the case) and the next-gen version has My GM instead of The Association Mode. It's slightly different because it puts you in complete control on the business end of the team while you have to still play the actual games.
My Player is in the game as well, complete with cheesy ass story and voice acting but it's every bit as fun as it always was unless you're me and you get drafted to the Timberwolves and your best attempts to create a character has you looking like Trytan.
My only main complaint is that the AI really loves them some alley oop plays, especially the Heat but I guess that's their thing. Almost all of the classic teams from NBA 2K12 are in this game which means I'll probably spend most of my time outside of My Player mode playing as the 95-96 Bulls because God forbid we get a classic Pacers team in this series.

Also for anyone interested, here's a glimpse at the leap between current gen and next gen systems.
