Show finally appeared on DirecTV's site yesterday and showed up in the channel guide today so I decided to order. $34.95 in HD, $24.95 in SD. No mention of it on UStream right now.

Their posters are shit.
Side note, I got copies of Era of Honor Begins, Round Robin Challenge, Night of Appreciation and Road to the Title on eBay for $10 each.

No, I avoided that shit like the plague. They're all Remastered versions.

Good shit. Ki vs. Danielson from RRC is one of my favorite matches ever but I've gotta mute it because of how horrible Corino is on commentary. That style was cutting edge and if you watched ROH even like three years later you wouldn't have guessed that at one point they had shows headlined by guys working a hybrid of BattlARTS and Super Junior style.

Yeah. I was super into puro when I started watching RoH. I really remember liking Crazy/Guerrero from the first show. Takedown Masters did get me into the product more.
Corino is the worst. His stuff during Christopher Street Connection stuff is straight up homophobic and I don't say that about very much.

Corino on the ROH/NJPW shows was especially bad too. Never shut up about Tanahashi being stabbed by a girlfriend over a decade ago, didn't know anything about any of the New Japan stars (said Nakamura wasn't a draw until just recently which is bullshit) and was just all around unpleasant.

The Ki/Daniels/Danielson match on the first show is awesome, as well. There's a lot of really solid shit from the first two years of ROH. It's just buried under all the stuff that doesn't hold up at all.
Joe vs. Low Ki from the original Glory By Honor is still a top 15, maybe even top 10 match in company history.

That Joe/Ki match is great. Easily their 02 Match of the Year.

I never got Gabe's weird obsession with Iron Man matches in 02. The four way to determine the first champion? Okay. Danielson and Doug Williams for no real reason? That's just stupid.

It was his All Japan boner I think. Those almost universally sucked IMO. I never got putting the belts on Daniels/Morgan because Morgan was never going to fucking be there to do shows.
Speaking more on how much Steve Corino sucks I hated his feud with Homicide but Cide also kind of sucked until the spring of 2003.

I never really got the love for Homicide. He's good, but like...not as good as a lot of people say he is but I'd be lying if I said when I'm watching an old ROH DVD that my attention isn't completely on the TV when this hits:

I'm being completely honest. His best stuff was with LAX.
Speaking of other baffling Gabe shit. The man crush on Xavier and not pushing Scoot Andrews more. Andrews was on of the most charismatic guys on those early shows.

I never got why Xavier beat Low Ki for the title and not Daniels. It would have made way more sense given how everything played out during that first year. I also hate the Special K gimmick but I get that's what some of the dudes at RF were into at the time.
